East Shore Lodging is an iconic, boutique motel where modern amenities and rustic design merge with an authentic roadside motel. Our pull-up parking spots, low slung roof and exterior guest doors evoke that classic ”motor-inn” nostalgia with a modern, convenient twist. No schlepping luggage through a lobby or parking far from your room. In this excessive, chaotic world, we bring it back to easy & simple. Our rooms have been completely renovated using reclaimed furniture to create an authentic, environmentally friendly travel experience while using a modern mix of natural woods & gorgeous color pallets across all 12 warm, inviting, bright & airy rooms. All rooms have microwaves, refrigerators, private bathrooms, iron/ironing boards, hairdryers, flat screen cable TVs, free & WiFi &. We are centrally located across the street from Lake Wallenpaupack in the heart of the Lake Wallenpaupack area on the Route 6 corridor & steps from the 1.5 mile walking trail, beach, visitors center & observation dike. During your stay, shop at our on-site gift shop, take a boat tour or rent your very own kayak, stand up paddle board or pontoon boat. After a sun-filled day, enjoy an ice cream or treat at Gresham’s Ice Cream Shoppe next door. Our location is the perfect basecamp to explore the Wallenpaupack Region of lakes, mountains, hiking, boating, fishing, skiing/snowboarding, antiquing, real estate & so much more that the area has to offer. We are the essence of Wallenpaupack living brought to life!

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Everything from the ease of the check in process to the cleanliness of the well appointed and spacious rooms to the comfortable beds and it’s perfect location directly across from the lake make East Shore Lodging the perfect place for a getaway weekend or week if you’re lucky enough. Lots of great dining options close by, an ice cream stand on the property and the lake right across the road with plenty of places to sit and take in the scenery or go on a pontoon boat tour or kayaks. We had an amazing time and look forward to returning!

This was a great place to stay! First - COVID related - it’s extremely clean. All of the staff always wore masks. There was no housekeeping, but they have an excellent system to take away the trash & used towels & replace towels, coffee, soap, etc. We preferred this to having someone come in our room to clean.

Second, the location can’t be beat. It’s right across from the public beach & walking trail, which we enjoyed every day. We loved skipping rocks and watching the sunset each night. There’s a great pizza place right behind the building & an ice cream shop.

Third, the room was so spacious! We stayed with our two kids (10 & 13), & there was plenty of space for us. We stayed for almost a week & were comfortable the entire time. However, we would recommend taking a drying rack to hang clothes & swimsuits on.

Finally, we rented a pontoon boat one day & enjoyed a 10% discount. The staff was great about explaining everything we needed to know about the boat & the lake.

We all loved this vacation & the kids started talking about when we come back after the first day. We plan on coming back for a long weekend next year, & hopefully many years to come!

Two recommendations:
1) Cocoon Coffee was amazing. The line was long, but the food & coffee were worth it. & the staff were awesome.
2) Dairy Twist. 24 flavors of soft serve ice cream - doesn’t get any better than that!

My husband and I had to change our vacation plans because we were not comfortable going to the beach during COVID so we book a place at Eastern Shore Lodging. The staff was so kind and helpful and we felt totally safe. Contact-less check in and check out. The room was spotless and smelled so clean. The location could not be beat. A short walk to the lake's edge where there was a boat tour and boat rentals available Delicious ice cream is right around the corner. We took a drive to Camelback for ziplining, to Point Pleasant State Park for hiking and kayaking and to Bushkill Falls for sightseeing. Be sure to step out of your room to check out the sunsets over the lake, not to be missed! One suggestion, the room needs a large mirror, having only one small mirror in the bathroom is not sufficient.

My husband and I visited when the attic blast was happening and temperatures dropped into the negative numbers. The howling winds and subzero temps didn’t bother us in our snug room. There were no drafts and no rattling windows like you may encounter at other motel style accommodations. The rooms are HUGE- plenty of room to bring in ski gear and practice yoga without feeling cluttered. The location is so convenient to a variety of local restaurants and brew pubs. We highly recommend East Shore Lodging for a visit ANY time of year.

My husband and I have stayed at East Shore Lodging across from Lake Wallenpaupack many times in the last 15 years. We have celebrated our June Anniversary there several times. This year on our 41st Anniversary we were disappointed that we would have to stay home and celebrate due to COVID 19. Two weeks before our Anniversary I pulled up their website and read all the precautions they have put in place due to the Pandemic. I was very impressed. I also called and discussed their precautions with them. After my conversation I booked our favorite room - Room 4 which has a log post bed and a separate couch area with a nice big table. We didn't have to go to the office at all as they have new keypads on the door and you are mailed an entrance code 24 hours before arrival. We ordered takeout at a local restaurant and used the big table to enjoy our Anniversary dinner. I recommend East Shore Lodging as a VERY safe option during this unprecedented Pandemic.

Had a great three-day stay! Everything was sparkling clean and comfortable. The location can’t be beat - across from the lake, within walking distance of Paupack Diner, pizza and Greshams Chop House. Good hot water for the shower and cute decor. Nice touch to have a couple of chairs and table out front of the room to sit and get fresh air. Check-in was easy. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.

This place is located near nice restaurants, a CVS pharmacy and a grocery store. It right across the lake, renting kayaks or boats was very easy. The staff was very helpful and I really like just needing a code to get into our room. Made it very simple. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Once again East Shore Lodging did not disappoint. I’ve stayed here a handful of times now over the past year while I visit family and I appreciate the ease of check in and check out. The rooms are all spacious, clean and the beds are comfortable. There’s no lack of hot water for the shower and the convenience of the in room fridge and microwave is appreciated.

We stayed in the Delaware room. Very spacious and very clean. Loved the décor, very fitting for the rural area. The headboard and footboard are made from tree limbs. I loved the uniqueness of that idea. It does make it a challenge when trying to sit up in bed and watch TV as the headboard is not solid behind you but it wasn't a big deal for us. The AC cooled the room relatively quickly. It is an older style 'in the wall beneath the window' type of unit. It does not have a thermostat so it's either on or off. The fan is rather loud, had to turn the TV up higher than we normally would in order to compensate. This wasn't a major problem for us but some may not like it. The only significant negative thing for us was the location of outlets. The only one in the vicinity of the bed was behind it. My husband uses a CPAP so must be able to plug it in near the bed. We had to move the bed a little to access it. The only outlet I saw that was easily accessible was near the entry door to the room. So I had to plug my phone in to charge there. Very inconvenient to have to get out of bed and walk across the room to check messages or answer a phone call. There was a clock beside the bed, changing this out for a type that also serves as an extension cord (it has plugs built into the top) would solve this problem. But overall we were very happy with our stay and would definitely come back here if we were in the area.

We stay at East Shore Lodging several times per year and enjoy every visit! One of my family members needs the ADA room, which has a lot of space, a lift chair and everything needed in the bathroom. The team was very attentive with any questions we had and check in and out was very easy, especially with the new processes. Thank you!
