ASTOUNDED AT THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS! Huh?
I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express last week (11/22/22) and was positively delighted! I felt obliged now to write a counter to the other reviewers. For perspective, check my review on the Red Roof Inn in Trevose PA from several weeks ago - a bit of a horror! So this was a wonderful contrast.
Clean sheets, clean bathroom, and I always love the pile of pillows of varying densities in hotel rooms! Also of note: the heater worked very well, which was lovely because it was SO cold outside! Toasty warm all night! And comfy-cozy in bed!
Best of all, the complementary breakfast - I was totally blown away by the spread. I'm accustomed to free breakfasts, from 5-stars in Europe to local Days Inn & so on; this Holiday Inn Express really did a nice job setting out all manner of hot + cold breakfast foods. PLUS, even after breakfast officially closed, there were still apples + oranges for the taking, yogurts in the fridge and probably several other things I didn't notice. Now *that's* generous hosting.
Only disappointment was the coffee: blech! Dishwater! The Keurig in the room was better than what they brewed, oh dear! Had to go to Starbucks for my morning fix LOL!
Good experience, we will stay again! 4-stars because I'm always suspicious if 5-star reviews are paid for.

This hotel is showing its age but still provides a comfortable stay. The room is fairly well-outfitted and includes a microwave & small fridge with counter space. The TV has many channels, and the bed is very comfortable. The window opens, allowing for fresh air, and the AC unit is quiet & easy to operate. I stayed here during the pandemic, so many of the amenities were unavailable. Additionally, there is some visible wear & tear on the property and signs that updating should be done soon. Overall, though, this hotel is comfortable and clean.

Hello ria233, Thanks for staying with us and for leaving a review. I am very happy that you found our rooms well appointed, the beds comfy and that you found the property clean. On the other hand, I regret that we had limited service and that some amenities were not available. I have taken note of your comments and shared them with management for review to make necessary actions to address these concerns. I hope you give us a chance to host you again in the future. Best Regards, John O Case Manager IHGService

Stayed their 2 nights in mid August 2020. Simple and comfortable. The hot breakfast unavailable, I guess due to the Covid virus. A couple of drawbacks. Being right next to a shopping center, you get the noise of car doors closing. No blackout curtains that closed. Just the white curtain. From the inside looking out you see everything. I’m not sure how it looks from the outside looking in. I found it a bit disturbing that people could look into your room. The other drawback was. I went down for breakfast the first morning , the housekeeping closet was at the top of the hall. So the housekeeping carts were right outside the door. This causes a pinch point. You are unable to maintain social distancing from the staff. Not all the staff were wearing their mask over both nose, and mouth. That combined with the pinch point made me uncomfortable. So other than those 2 things, my stay was pleasant. No house keeping , I was fine with that. I just got more towels from the desk.

Hello Joe K, Thank you for choosing to stay with us among your many lodging options, and we appreciate you sharing your feedback. Please know that our guests and employees have always been our top priority, and in response to COVID19, IHG has set protocols in compliance with local government guidelines/regulation to ensure the safety and welfare of all our stakeholders. I also recognize your disappointment in the unavailability of both a hot breakfast and blackout curtains. I am sorry to hear about the noise issues encountered. Trust that our hotels observe the highest standards to ensure an exceptional experience for all our guests. Know that your feedback is important, and I have conveyed your remarks to our hotel’s upper management as a reference for continuous improvement on our services and strict implementation of our safety protocols. This was the team hotel for my kids swim meet. I checked in around 3pm. They gave me a room right across the elevator. I asked for a room at a higher floor and further away from the elevator. They gave me the same room on the higher floor and swear there was no other room available. Later, we found that the shower was broken because a previous guest fell into it and we had a real hard time to turn on/off the shower. When I called, they told me they knew it was broken but still assigned me to the room. When I met with other swim families checked in after us, they had got good rooms on the same floor. Is it because we are minority?
When I asked if i could check out a few hours late, they told me it would be a day's charge and this weekend the going rate is $235. I asked if I could extend with the team rate since we only need three extra hours till final starts, they said it expired.
The toilet paper holder was broken and there was a hole on the wall taped with tape.
Then we couldn't connect to WiFi. They gave us an access code but I still had trouble and he blamed it on my laptop.
The second day, the shower was completely broken. There was no hot water and we couldn't turn it off. I called front desk and they guy just said OK and hung up. I waited and then called back. He had a real bad attitude and all upset. I waited 20 minutes for him to come up and he turned off the water and said now it's good and was rushing out of the door. I asked him to fix the hot water. He looked at me like I was asking for some unacceptable stuff and said I'd go get my screw driver. Twenty minutes later, he came back and knocked on the door like he was going to pound the door and break in. I let him in and he fixed it and I asked him if I could get new towels since there was no house keeping. He said people like you should reuse towels for recycling. It was so rude and unacceptable. I don't understand why they treat customers like that. It is the worst experience ever. I would never stay here again.

I am in town for a wedding and I decided to spend a night here, not a good idea. I called ahead to let them know I was a late arrival, the phone rang for about 5 minutes before someone answer, the person wasn't friendly and with an attitude told me it was ok, I asked about late checkout and she didn't even let me finish. She said 11 am sharp
Right after that call, I wish I could cancel my reservation but unfortunately, it was paid, and no refund
Once in town, the GPS was giving us confusing directions, once again I called the hotel and no one answer
Once at the hotel, we were given a handicap unto. No tub the floors were dirty, carpet smelly, walls dirty, I went to front desk ask for a non handicap room and I was told they didn't have more rooms
I didn't believe it because the parking was empty.
I have to admit that I have stayed at HI hotels that ate decently but this one needs to be torn down and rebuild.
I feel that I needed to shower and disinfect after my staying

The room had beds that were severely bowed in the middle, so that the head and feet were much lower than the middle. I did not realize at first what the problem was, I just had a terrible night of no sleep, never getting comfortable! When I really looked at the beds later the next day, I realized I needed a new room, but they had NONE, so "tough, just put up the bad beds, they were sorry but what could they do? " In addition, the room had stained/ dirty carpet, the furniture is very old/ unmatched, mold in the tub. The manager "left at 3 PM the day I complained and would not be back until Monday" so I was unable to move rooms I finally called Holiday Inn corporation, and after a lot of grief and 2 hours on the phone, they found a new room for us remarkedly, one with normal beds and cleaner, newer carpet and furniture. They never cleaned our room even though I asked at the front desk twice, each morning (to punish us for making a fuss?, about beds with a huge hump in the middle that never should have been rented to guests?) This was a 4 day stay at top price, definitely Not worth $150 a night! I have been a member of this hotel sine 1993, so I was very surprised at how awful the first room was and how awful the service was. This hotel suffers from very poor management. do not stay there, the good does not outweigh the bad.

We made a reservation (4rooms w/ 2 queens each) through Expedia about a month earlier ( already made a payment) and then when we were checking in (rooms were not ready for 3pm check-in, by the way), were told one of the rooms would be a room w/ one bed.. The front personnel (young female) was not even apologetic, just being not interested in being hospitable at all. The whole situation was totally unprofessional in an impressive way ... Seems like those employees are not well trained and just not ready for this kind of service business. Sad. Never experienced anything like this. Oh, the hallway and rooms were smelling like bad chemicals and not well cleaned. Wish I didn't have to write this.

Rooms and public areas were dirty. Shower head was gross. Mold in the bathroom. ( see pictures) Damage in the room and hallways not repaired. No hand towels in our room. Breakfast bar was pretty much empty … orange juice was orange water. We have stayed in many HI Express Hotels and this was the worst.

Hello Sandy R, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We’re the first choice of travelers who need a simple, engaging place to rest, and what you described isn't what we promised. A lot of issues. While trying to check in at 4pm the one desk person was on the phone for over five minutes trying to explain to a customer they can’t find their reservation (they’d booked through a third party). The line to check in behind me grew to the front door. The ice machine on our floor was constantly running water. Loud enough to hear from the room. Gurgling/draining sound. The toilet wouldn’t stop running no matter how much handle jiggling. Had to take lid off and seat the flap manually. Every flush. Shower had a loud “squeeeee” while in use. Loud enough to make a short shower painful. You could adjust the tune with the shower head…so it had that going for it…I think I settled on a c#. Tub kinda hacked up and scratched. Bed very firm like it was a 4” mattress on a plywood board. I will say the ac was effective and not too loud. Coffee at 7:15am was cold. Scrambled eggs were scorched and dark brown in parts. Rest of breakfast was typical hie food. No attendant at front desk or breakfast area until 8:06. Just a sign that says “we will be right back”. Parking lot and breakfast area pretty empty on a Friday night Saturday am so I assume this is a weekday/biz traveler spot. Shelves in sundry shop not well stocked. Overall seems like they can’t find good/any employees and it’s showing a lot of neglect.

Was traveling to this delightful little area outside of Philadelphia for our first time and decided to Stay at an IHG Holiday Inn Since we are members and wanted to rack up points.
This was probably the worst IHG we have ever stayed in. Upon entering the dimly lit room and removing our shoes and socks (due to rain outside), my feet felt the stickiness of an aging carpet. The night stand between our beds had some white liquids spilled down the side of it. While looking at that we noticed a black plastic fork just under the edge of the bed on the floor (obviously was not vacuumed as it would have been sucked up). Had to turn the AC unit off as it was cold and noticed white fungus looking gunk in the vents of the unit (glad we turned it off as not sure what would have been blowing our way). Upon entering the bathroom, a picture on the wall had what looked like sneeze leftovers on the corner of the frame. Glancing up at the ceiling we noted BLACK MOLD in the corners of the room as well as peeling plaster that was about ready to fall off. We were too exhausted to go to front desk and told ourselves we would upon discharge in the morning to bring to their attention all of the issues. The beds were clean, well made and comfortable - a definite plus after traveling all day.
The next morning, upon check out, no one was at front desk but a small child calling for his mother. He was looking for her while we waited, and waited…but had to leave - hence the reason we never spoke to an agent of the hotel. HIre someone to check each room, make the minor/major repairs and expect a great review. It just seemed like management didn’t care - it was all about the $$.
