We stayed in one of their suites by the river. It had a very pretty view and very quiet for sleeping hence the higher rating I would have given. The room was clean and appointed in an average manner. It was heated well. The windows were too small to really enjoy the view. The only lighting was bright over the bed - had to move a lamp from the living room to beside the bed to be able to relax and read. The grounds are well kept and the entrance is nice. The hotel itself looks tired. The breakfast offerings were prepackaged and sparce. The mattress was long overdue to be switched out. Soft and saggy - I dreaded going to bed the second night knowing how stiff and sore my back was going to be in the morning. This Inn has great potential but seems neglected.

The place has the ambiance of an office building that has been converted into a hotel; dropped ceilings, unfinished cabinets and very loud AC units. The room we stayed in was huge. It was clean with no funny odors. Breakfast was somewhat skimpy. Service was very courteous an friendly. There is a decent sized lawn out back which borders the small (in that location) Allegheny River. Saw people fishing from the banks. Fairly busy family restaurant a 30 second walk east on Rt. 6. You will hear some road noise if you do not turn on the AC which you may not want to do because it is loud--we turned ours off an could actually hear one from another room. With few other lodging options in town, this one is passable.

Wandering thru PA, needed a place for the night and found the Westgate. What a nice place---cleanest hotel I've ever been to, for one thing. No frills at all but so comfortable, so clean it sparkled. Fabulous bed, great flat screen TV, nice big bathroom. Right on the main highway thru town, great parking, nice staff, decent free breakfast. Free wi-fi and didn't even have to mess with using a password.

Only thing it could have used was a coffee maker in the room. One very nice thing: has AC, but the windows actually open! Fresh air!

I stayed one night. The bathtub in Room 112 had brown stains that looked like poop stains. I stepped on the stains before seeing them; I hope I don’t get any infection. I complained and was moved to Room 115. When I opened the sheets in Room 115, I found at least three small curly public hairs as well as black flecks. I quit looking after seeing three pubic hairs! Clearly, the blankets had not been washed. I immediately asked for a refund. When I checked out, the manager just ignored me, but she admitted she had read the notes from the night before. She never apologized, but the night worker did. Not worth the $94 headache!

The day manager is curt and rude. She did not greet me with “Good morning.” She walked past with cookies for guests, but says nothing. She puts the WiFi password on a 1 inch by 1/4 inch little piece of paper that I misplaced several times. She never mentioned the breakfast hours. I have traveled to third world countries with better manners and accommodations.

One of the few places that allows dogs, but discovered upon registration guests with pets are put in a separate building that looks like a large prefabricated trailer inside. The hallway was dark and dank. Staff were not pleasant nor helpful; I could not find my room based on their directions (apparently the Health Dept. shares half the building). Also, parking was not outside the door as it is in most motels so I had to lug my stuff a bit of distance to get to my room. While I was grateful dogs were allowed, for $100 a night, I cannot recommend this place.

Overall it would have been a better experience for me, the location convenient to town and to nearby attractions, the facilities relatively new and no problems, the staff generally friendly and courteous; good wifi signals, breakfast is acceptable. However the major turn-offs are: a) the choking stench of cigarette smoke along the hallway of the second building next to the main one; b) the dusty nightstand by the bed that looked like left untouched for weeks (I even saw some hairs on it). To be fair, other furniture in the room including bathroom looked reasonably clean. One more issue was the A/C temperature control of heat didn't work. If I have to make a quick stop there next time, I'll pick somewhere else.

My wife and I stayed overnight during a road trip. Pleasantly surprised. It seemed to be a newer place. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well kept. Quiet. The room was spacious and comfy. Lots of chairs and a good bed. Breakfast was standard fare. Under $90. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed here when we wanted to see the stars at Cherry Creek State Park. My husband and I stayed in the King Suite, a room that was large enough to include an eating area with a kitchenette plus a separate section for a desk. It was absolutely perfect for us. Another couple traveling with us stayed in the King, but since ours was the larger room, we enjoyed lunch together at our kitchen table. The rooms are clean, the staff extraordinarily helpful. The breakfast is standard fare, just right for a quick bit when you want to go out and explore the area.

We've stayed here before and enjoy that it is in walking distance to Kaytees. We love Coudersport and are looking for a similar, walkable town on the eastern side of PA.
Westgate is clean and comfortable with microwave and refrigerator in the room. We brought our own coffee pot. Don't forget to go to the movie. It was open Thursday thru Monday when we were there last October.
St. Eulalia Catholic church is less than a mile away, as is McDonald's.
A visit to Cherry Springs State Park is a must if you want to star gaze.

A clean, spacious, non-smoking room at a great price. The room also had a microwave and refrigerator. The bathroom was large and shower was hot with plenty of water pressure. The sheets were clean and the towels looked brand new. The king size bed was very comfortable. There's a continental breakfast included from 7-10 AM but get there early; by the time we got there at 9AM there was only 1 muffin left. I would definitely stay here again.
