In the depths of winter one of the best places in the eastern U.S. for those who want rest and refreshment, both physical and spiritual, are the deeply wooded hills surrounding the Millstream Inn in Coudersport in the Allegheny Plateau region of Pennsylvania. When I was there in early January 2021, the countryside had a snow blanket. At this time of year the few bird species that overwinter here are quiet, a contrast to the uproarious dawn chorus in spring and early summer; and you are aware of your own crunching footsteps over the snow in their realm.

The Millstream Inn is only about 13 miles from Cherry Springs State Park via PA 44-S, a famous star gazing site. Here you will find the "Highway to the Stars." Astronomers and amateur stargazers from all over come here when skies are clear at the new moon because of the lack of man made light sources in the surrounding area. As for the accommodations at the Millstream, they are excellent, as is the service. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and would recommend this place without hesitation.

I want to thank Raven for coming out to my cabin late in the evening to bring me a fresh dry bathmat after I had dropped mine into a filled tub. She brought oatmeal cookies made fresh that morning for a bedtime snack. Apparently cookies and popcorn are baked daily for guests enjoyment!

Room Tip: They have separate cabins in case you don't want to stay in the motel proper. Great option...

My wife and I, both seniors, stayed for one night on the way further south. We stayed in the main hotel and the room was clean, spacious and the staff friendly and helpful. One reviewer said the room was dull due to poor lighting and this is true but not a deterrent and not noticeable at night. We had a hot breakfast in the morning but understand it is not always offered. The bathroom has the smallest soap and shampoo amenities but this is a good thing so not a lot of waste. You can pul your vehicle in, unload to a nice room and drive a short distance to town for supper. We would use this hotel again.

Three of us stayed for one night for stargazing/comet watching at Cherry Springs State Park as it was a convenient location for this activity. Check-in was easy, room was clean and everything in the room worked properly. Breakfast was OK and the staff was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to book this place again if I were to be in the area. Overall, the unit was clean and simple. Nothing extravagant. But it afforded us a good night's sleep, which was our main objective there.

This is a great place to stay if you are in the Coudersport area! We stayed in the #603 log cabin and really enjoyed the stay. Each cabin has a charcoal grill, front porch with chairs and a fire pit. We enjoyed our little log home! The bed was soft and comfy, the mini-split put out plenty of cool air and the space was great! It was nice having a little Kitchener with a fridge & microwave and coffee pot. Plus a little kitchen table/office desk and plush recliner. We enjoyed a nice camp fire with our friends and even though you are directly across from the hospital the street is pretty quiet at night. Make sure to say hi to Raven at the hotel front desk, she is super friendly and helpful and she cooks up a great chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies! Even though we were in the cabins, we still went over for the hot weekend breakfast on Sunday of Sausage Grqvy and biscuits with home fries! They also have a nice touch of always having popcorn and soda available at all times! This place will not disappoint, we plan on coming back!

Stayed at the Millstream for 3 nights while visiting Cherry Springs State Park for Star Gazing in June. The accommodations were very clean, comfortable and very nice. Motel personnel were friendly and helpful. Provided fresh home baked cookies in the evening and popcorn during the day with free soda. Buffet breakfast each morning was basic (cereal/milk, plain bagel, muffin or toast) but the coffee was always freshly brewed. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and would stay again while in the area.

My son and took a trip to Coudersport in August to see the meteor shower. We had nice stay at the Millstream inn. The young lady at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful (I think her name was Raven?). She went out of her way to make fresh coffee, popcorn and cookies and tend to guests checking in. She also gave us plenty of information about the area.

Hotel room was clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was not bad (food ran out because the hotel was fully booked). Parking was a bit of a problem if you got back late - Not sure why there were so many construction trucks in the parking lot.

The biggest problem we had was the poor Wi-Fi and cell service in the rooms.

We were here for the Black Forest star party at Cherry Springs and found the Millstream Inn perfect for our needs (about 11 miles from Cherry Springs). It has a few quirks (agree with others who say the lighting in the rooms could possibly use an upgrade - just kind of odd). But overall this is a lovely little inn - nothing fancy, but very comfortable, clean, convenient, staff very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

I could spend a week here! It was a lovely cabin on a local trail system. The town was large enough to offer any food choices you would want. Next time, we'll visit the state park that's close by. Free popcorn, cookies and soda were a nice treat. Very small breakfast did not appeal to us so we ate elsewhere, but for those that aren't picky it would be fine! Can't say enough about Ravyn- the "manager" and our contact person.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Roulette location for our anniversary. If I could give this place a 12 out of a 10 i would. Everything was perfect! Staff was very friendly and helpful, the cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. It was affordable and private. There was a bonfire pit with plenty of firewood and a stocked trout stream next to the house. The best getaway I have had in years. We will be back!!

We planned a trip to visit the dark park and chose to stay here. The customer service was excellent! Accommodating when we had a problem with our room and needed to change. Will go again. Hospitality was first rate as well!

I would call them directly at 814-274-9900, I am not sure they watch trip advisor very closely. I would think you will have little problem making a reservation.

I have no idea how much they charge for their rooms on given nights. You will have to check pricing with the hotel. Just give them a call, I'm sure they would be happy to discuss your options.
