We were very pleased with our stay here. We got in after a long ride up from Central Pennsylvania, multiple side stops and a long hike. The check in process here is painless and very quick, parking is on the side street, and they have a bar and restaurant on site here. We like the historical building, centrally located in this progressive and interesting town. Our room was quiet and our sleep was sound. The staff is great. The wifi here is the fastest that I have ever experienced at a hotel.

Historic hotel that is under renovation. Eliot Ness of the Untouchables write his memoir there. The hotel is walking distance to eateries and across from the Eliot Ness Museum. Cherry Springs Park is @ 14 miles away. Owner was lovely and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel restaurant was under renovation so we couldn't eat there but should be charming when completed.

This isn't for you if you want cookie cutter lodging but it's great if you would enjoy a place with historic character. Friendly chatty staff and clean comfortable rooms. Be sure to take some time to wander around the town too

Staff was very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately the negatives outweigh this positive. Seemed like it is under construction as there was a lot of dirt in the common areas. Room was large but missing a lot of expected convinces. Very small and crammed bathroom. Bed was extremely uncomfortable. Would not stay there again.

We had the breakfast buffet this morning - the carved ham was to die for - the waffles were simply out of this world - so nice to have a place like this to meet our friends from out of the area for breakfast. The entire staff was pleasant and welcoming - we will definitely be back

Hotel Crittenden is a really nice hotel. We stayed in a suite with a living room, bedroom and tiny kitchen area with a sink and refrigerator. Sparsely decorated but attractive. Our only issue was the heating lamp which only heated the living room. We would suggest that the hotel put a heat lamp in the bathroom and a space heater in the bedroom.

I've been coming to Coudersport for 9 years now and never had a chance to stay at the Hotel Crittenden, but always wanted to. Finally, after 9 years, I've had the chance and it's not at all what I had anticipated for the following reasons:
1. No overnight hotel staff--as a matter of fact, there wasn't any hotel staff available shortly after I checked in, because they went home.
2. No breakfast (or vending machines)--not even fruit or a granola bar.
3. Outdated rooms with poor lighting, and beds that feel like they're about 20 years too old. Also, our bathroom sink had no hot water.
4. No heat in our room and it was 29 degrees and freezing rain while here (there is a split in the room; however, it was not working).
5. Lack of Security--I realize Coudersport is a small town where everyone knows everyone, but when you have a hotel where people are coming in from out of town, you really need to think about physical security, keeping your hotel safe, your employees and your customers. There was no hotel staff there all night, the front doors were left unlocked, hotel computer system and cash register left completely exposed and at risk to be tampered with--a crime of opportunity just waiting to happen!
6. Rate--the cost to stay there is overpriced considering the current COVID situation with many places being closed, and it's overpriced considering the quality of the hotel and service. I can go down to the West Gate Inn or to Millstream Inn, pay the same for a room and get much better quality and service!
Unfortunately, it saddens me to say this, but I'm disappointed with my experience and will not be returning.

On a quick weekend trip to visit the PA Lumber Museum I made a reservation for an overnight stay at the Hotel Crittenden. The hotel was built in the 1890s, during the hay days of the Pennsylvania lumber industry. The hotel has a very colorful history. The current owners are in the process of a total renovation, so far only 5 renovated rooms are available and were sold out when we were there. Eventually the owner said that 30+ rooms will be available. The hotel contains a great restaurant and tap room (“The best in town”) the meal we had was excellent as was the service. Hotel staff extremely friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful. We had a great nights sleep, very quiet. As with most hotels of this vintage stories of the super natural abound, we experienced none. All together a wonderful fall weekend, the trees in the area were in full color.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Crittenden for a night while passing through the area.
As others have mentioned, the hotel is a work in progress - the owner saved it from being torn down and is renovating it a little at a time. Clearly she is very passionate about the hotel, and that's a great upside to staying there. I enjoy old buildings so appreciate what the owner is in the process of doing with the hotel. The place has a lot of character.
The hotel rooms have more of a "b & b" feel than a "hotel" feel, so as long as that's your expectation going in, it's actually very charming, clean and comfortable. We stayed in the king suite with a small but well laid out bathroom. Although there's a bar/restaurant on the first floor, we found the room to be very quiet. When we were leaving in the morning, some of the other rooms were open so we peeked in - the rooms all have a lot of space in them and a nice layout.

This Hotel is in a very old building that is still a work in progress. We set our expectations accordingly. Based on that, we thought the overall hotel experience was very good. It kind of reminded me of an old hotel you might see in a movie.
Our room was up the old staircase (no elevator) on the 2nd floor. Room number 4 does not have any type of view, but it is very quiet since it is located in the back of the building. The air conditioned room had 2 queen beds and was furnished modestly. There was an attached bathroom. There was plenty of hot water to take a long shower or bath. There was a microwave with complimentary coffee and tea available in an alcove off the bedroom..
There is on street parking that is free after 3:00. There is one free handicapped parking space right across the street. Overall, if you are looking for a fancy hotel, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay, in kind of funky surroundings, this might be what you are looking for,
