Detailed Reviews
We booked the 2-double bed room for 3 nights to go snowmobiling with our boys. Great communication, Curtis sent a text how to get in after hours as we had a 4 hour trip to get up there after work, no issues at all. Staff was very friendly and accommodating! We were given a quick tour of the area and how to access the trails which are just down the street. The motel is also located close enough to several trail heads if you choose to ride out of a different location. The bathroom was clean, fresh towels as needed with plenty of hot water and good pressure. Digital TV, plenty of channels and internet.

Big Oaks Motel is a perfectly lovely, simple motel. The room is basic, but perfectly clean, comfortable, and had most of the standard needs covered. There’s no conditioner or hairdryer, but soap, shampoo, and coffee are all provided. We were in Room 12. The beds were comfy enough. The table is a good size and has two chairs. I’m a very large woman (size 28W), so I did not find the chairs comfortable, but they were fine for the rest of my family. As mentioned in another review, the water pressure is awesome! Curtis had excellent communication and always responded promptly. The motel is close to town and an easy 20 min drive to the Cherry Springs Dark Sky Park. If all you need is a comfortable place to crash while you explore the area, this will be a great room for you.

Found the big oak inn on our road trip. Great price, clean room and a comfortable bed. What more do you need. Easy check in and check out. Needed a blow dry on the morning snd they brought it up right away. Thanks Big oak Inn.
The only thing I would say is get a new bed side lamp.

Motel is no frills. Beds comfortable, towels new and thick. Water pressure good for shower. If you are looking for lower cost and are comfortable with dark paneling, older furniture, and less precise painting (some paint on bathroom wall fixtures) then you should be fine. If are very particular about the room furnishings, then you may want to stay at one of the chains and pay more. You get what you pay for applies here.

This is a place you will not be sorry you stayed at. The bed was the best I've slept in while traveling ever. The room was very clean and comfortable. They are updating the rooms and I hope they put the same beds in all the rooms. Very convenient with Dollar store across the street and good restaurant just down the street. Kaytee's

I will give this a 5 out of 5 rating. The end was very nice and clean. The staff were Cooperative, and the owners are very knowledgeable about the area. Very friendly and a place that we will frequent whenever we're in the area. Their pet friendly. A very economical place to stay.

My brother and I stayed here until an apartment opened up. It was from Tuesday to Sunday we stayed. I have nothing bad to say about the owner as she bent over backwards for both of us. The problem I had was that when we needed something we had to call her when there was people here taking care of the place and I could not get them to help me. The office was always closed, the caretaker always spent time in her house when she should have been there to help guests. The place was clean, I got clean towels every day, but the service was non-existent. You got nothing. I'm sorry for the owner who allowed us to stay here. I just wish I was given a better experience. I'm writing this review while I'm still here hoping the owner is aware of what is going on.

We booked a room for 2 nights after seeing the ad on the internet. However, we were not given the rooms on the hill behind the office. Instead we were given a room in the back of the office building. It was dark, desperately in need of some upgrades. Especially the bath. The towels were dark blue which makes you wonder how clean they are. And there was a window AC unit which allowed the road traffic noise to come in as if the window was open. Then, due to a family emergency, we had to leave early. So I called the number on the front door and left a message to have someone call me back in regards to cancelling our reservation for the 2nd night. Here I am, 2 days later and have still not received a call back. Wouldn't recommend staying in this hotel....ever

Response from TracieG102, Manager at Big Oaks Inn
Responded 8 Oct 2019
I’m sorry you did not receive my returned call. I left a message soon after you called the office. The cleaning service informed me that she spoke with you. Also, I am sorry the room did not fit your needs. I have plans to brighten that specific room, mostly with paint, however it has been booked all year with guests. Perhaps when the snow flies.

Comfortable, clean, simple. Slept great. Relaxing evening sitting outside. Located conveniently on Route 6. We traveled on motor cycles along Route 6. No breakfast, however diner right up the road. Priced accordingly.
