I stayed here for two nights while social-distancing from my parents a few miles away. The proprietor was friendly and the unit was clean and inviting. It feels like a home -- linen closet, kitchen with real dishes, etc. It is a very convenient location, too! I will definitely come back and I'll suggest this place to other people.

AnnMarie went out of her way to have the two bedroom apartment ready for us to move into on Christmas Eve 2021, and we were so grateful as we had come for a family emergency during a very busy travel time. The building is old as stated, but well maintained and just a few blocks off the main road.
The apartment is cozy and comfortable, with plenty of room to visit in the kitchen-dining room-living room spaces which have comfortable couch & chairs. We will definitely stay here again on future trips to visit our grown children in Bryn Mawr.

clean, convenient location, very accommodating host. We had never been to the Philadelphia area, and wanted to visit our grandson at his college. There weren't any of the usual hotels nearby, but we found this lovely place. Built in 1924, it was essentially a full apartment - 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchen. Easy walk to good restaurants. Very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed my stay at Bryn Mawr Guest Suites; Ann Marie, the proprietor is super friendly and helpful. It's a 1920 building with some quirky details, but the apartment was spacious and comfortable and well-equipped. I was in apartment C, which is reached by a tall, narrow staircase. The only problem for me, an elderly woman, was getting my suitcase down that steep staircase when it was time to leave (Ann Marie kindly toted it upstairs when I arrived). I enjoyed the view from the balcony and walking up the short block to see a movie at the local theater, and the sound of trains going by became a sort of familiar white noise.

We love this place. It's very cozy and comfortable. It's close to food, pharmacy, health food store and many other things. We came because it was two blocks from the hospital where my wife was having surgery. It is one block from the train station, but we did not find the noise of the trains to be any kind of disruption.
There are so many little things that the owner thought of. For instance, I hate the taste of city water, so I bought a Brita big pitcher to bring along. When I opened the refrigerator, there was a Brita already there.
All in all, it was a lovely place to stay and, though it is unfortunate that my wife will need surgery again in a year or two, at least we know there is a wonderful place where we can't stay.

There is no mention on the website of the fact that the train track is literally right outside your bedroom window, and that the trains are running until after midnight and begin again at about 4am. It isn't one of those nice, soothing trains either...it is loud and clanky, like an old roller coaster with the wooden slates..only these are metal. This was just one of the many disappointments that awaited us at the Bryn Mawr Guest Suites.

Response from Ann Marie W, Owner at Bryn Mawr Guest Suites
Responded 6 Nov 2013
Unfortunately , about once a year Septa/Amtrak do maintenance on the R-5 this section of tracks due west of Philadelphia. It is always in the spring and always in the middle of the night. This was one of those annual times. Trains typically stop at midnight and resume weekdays at 630 or so for commuters going to work in Philadelphia, and stop before mid-night. Most people say they find the sound of the trains not an issue, some actually find it comforting and relaxing.

A clean, comfortable, well equipped little apartment, very friendly staff. I found it noisy, a baby crying upstairs woke me both nights and it is RIGHT next to the railroad. However, there are very few trains late at night. Just a few minutes walk to Bryn Mawr College or to shopping and restaurants

We stayed here over Memorial Day, 2015 and were very happy with the accommodations. It's not fancy, but it is clean, comfortable and has plenty of room. The kitchen is equipped with everything but food. The deck is a nice, sunny spot to relax. Bedrooms, living and dining rooms were all spacious and well furnished. Off-street parking was adequate, too. We hope to stay at BMGS again!
Bryn Mawr is a lovely town and we were able to walk just about everywhere we needed to go (restaurants and market) from BMGS.

After making sure our Villanova Univ. freshman-year daughter was settled in, we stayed on a couple more days at the guest suites to take in the surrounding sites...without having to drive!!! Since the train station is just around the block, we went into the city of Philadelphia (my first time!), visited some old friends for dinner in the town of Narberth, and even walked around my hubby's hometown in Wayne. The suites were comfortable and very clean and we're looking forward to returning in the spring. Thanks for making our stay an easy adventure for us new empty-nesters.

No review says that this place is literally 50 yards from the train line and that the building trembles when the trains go past every half hour from 5 a.m. to midnight. The noise is incredibly loud. Earplugs did not help. Perhaps that is because you can't close the windows because of the badly fitted aircon machines.
We had an upstairs suite (B) that was not as nicely furnished as the downstairs suite (A). The bathtubs were so dirty that you wouldn't want to take a bath, even the bathmats were dirty.
It is a pity because it is close to Bryn Mawr (right next to the station!!), it is large and comfortable for four people (two queen size beds) but at the price it is disappointing.

Response from Ann Marie W, Owner at Bryn Mawr Guest Suites
Responded 16 Jan 2019
Fortunately the trains stop at 11:30 and resume at 7 am. All A/C units have been replaced and the old tub re-glazed Brand new pull out couch in that livingroom. Funny most people prefer that unit B because it's cozy.
