Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stayed at this hotel, recently, the night before a trip I was going on. It is in a great location, right off the highway, easy in and out, and easy to find; has a huge parking lot with a Dunkin' Donuts in the corner (a plus for me) There is a giant WAWA across the street and a traffic light so you can walk safely to it. There are many restaurants up and down the highway nearby but you would need a car to get to them. The room was just a tad shop worn, I imagine in that high traffic area it gets a lot of use, but it was very clean, as a solo traveler, I felt safe there and I would stay there again. My only disappointment was there was no breakfast served, most likely because of COVID restrictions or short staffing etc. so if that is important to you I would suggest calling first to confirm also if you are planning on needing a room on the weekend, make reservations ahead of time because they were sold out and turning people away.

We stayed one night at the Best Western Plus in Bensalem.
We were in room 105, which had a king bed, 2 comfy chairs, a desk and chair, TV, A/C, a small fridge with a freezer compartment, a microwave, an iron and ironing board, a clock radio, and a one cup coffee maker. But there was no safe.

The bathroom was on the small side, but it had a tub and shower.

The room itself was rather dark, even though it had plenty of lights. I think it was the dark colors that they used on the walls that made it dark.

We had some minor problems --

There was no phone in the room. We discovered this when we tried to call the front desk to see if the bag breakfasts had arrived or not. That was the second problem, as the breakfast bags were not there at 8:30, but they said they'd be there in an hour (and they were, but without the pastry item in the bag).

The front desk staff were all friendly, and they said the lack of a phone was wrong, and they'd have the maintenance people fix the lack of a phone.

For the price, we'd stay there again.

Clean room, great desk staff. Provided a great bag breakfast (microwavable) while the pandemic prohibits the usual sit down. Young man even gave me my breakfast at night so that I could microwave in my room, thus eliminating a morning trek to the front desk. VERY HELPFUL.

This Best Western is where I always stay when I am in Philadelphia. The rooms are clean, attractive, updated. There are room darkening curtains, a a microwave and a coffee machine in the room and coffee, tea and hot chocolate available. They offer breakfast but I did not have it so cannot offer an opinion. They also have a pool but I did not use it. This hotel is convenient and an excellent value.

Every front desk person we encountered was rude. We stayed 4 nights with 4 people, everyday we had to ask for more towels and go to the front desk to get them as they only left 2 in the room. At breakfast this morning there was no coffee and not a staff member to be found. Hot Tub is out of service even though the website said it would be back up after maintenance a month ago. The rooms are decent. But I do not reccomend this hotel the staff could care less about the customers.

we had a family reunion and made arrangements to book meeting room to use for meals for dinner and breakfast. I was actually told I would have to sign waiver to absolve hotel from any liability as I was bringing my own food. I was also told I would be able to use a bar sink for use of water. [besides the fact that the smoking rooms reeked from smoke , a bed broke when we sat down and there was popcorn and bread crusts in one of the rooms] The next morning , the manager - Nancy Carpenter came in screaming at me that she never agreed to allow us to use the rooms for food and never gave me permission to use the bar sink. After jarring her memory she admitted she allowed us to use the sink, but only for washing utensils but not to wash our hands!!!!!! As we were packing up to leave, she came in threatening me several times, that the Fire chief marshall was on his way to give me a big fine. Worst yet, I reported this traumatizing incident to Best Western. They were horrified to hear of this most offensive experience, and initiated an investigation, One week later they informed me that they could not get in touch with the hotel. Greatly disappointed and utterly disgusted with the hotel and the Greater Best Western Management

Hello Mara, The waiver is only for you can bring food in and were not responsible if anyone gets sick. second you were Cooking in the banquet Hall which makes it a fire hazard. We did not or do not allow cooking in a banquet hall. Everything in this paragraph is not true. Feel free to call me and we can certainly talk about this furter. Nancy Carpenter

I booked this hotel because it's location was close to the event we were attending, and also it had a pool. We have 3 boys and letting them swim in the mornings or evening has always been a delight on trips we have taken. After getting checked in, we went to our rooms and could only laugh at what we found. The metal door lock was broken, the carpet was wet or sticky or both... the water was running in the bath tub and the finish on the tub was peeling off severely. You had to pull the plug completely out of the bath tub to get the water to drain. There was no TV remote. We didn't feel comfortable putting any of our suitcases or bare feet on the carpet. The gym was an old rickety treadmill that I was terrified the belt was going to break mid-stride and I would be thrown off. The pool had a soapy residue on the top layer of it, and due to our kids' sensitive skin, we opted not to use it, as it looked super sketchy. The whole feel of the hotel was dark, dank and gross. Such a disapointment. I wasn't expecting the Ritz, but not being able to use the pool and wanting to thrown away my socks after walking around on the carpet made this place more of a stressor than a relaxing place to wind down. We didn't even stay here the last night. We ended up sleeping on my grandma's living room floor. 2 adults in their late 30's should not have to do this because their hotel was that bad. Buyer be ware.

The phone in our room did not work. Loud kids running down halls knocking on door with Do not disturb sign multiple times after 11pm at night. Pool was closed which was main part of visit. Did not offer any accommodations or discounts due to it. Literally only chose this hotel for indoor pool and at the price we paid pretty upset it was up to standard. What appeared to be a old Blood stain on couch 🤢 pretty unsatisfied with me stay. Breakfast was not that great. Eggs tasted like sponges no flavor.

This was worse experience I have ever had at a hotel in my entire life. The room had an unpleasant odor, the sheets were torn. There was hair in the bathtub and on the towels. The mini refrigerator smelled horrible. The telephone did not work. The front desk staff were rude, disrespectful, unprofessional and untrained. The toilet was clogged and the bathtub was backing up. Tha hotel was over booked, would not refund my money and I was told my room could not be changed because there were no other rooms available. All night people were being checked in and given the key to my room which became such a safety issue I had to call 911.

Staff were great, especially Karen. We were booked for 10 days at the Quality Inn across the street. Accommodations there were horrendous. We went to the Best Western across the street and Karen showed us the room and facilities and invited us to eat breakfast even before she knew if we were staying or not. The room was clean. We had a problem with the shelf in the bathroom and someone came to fix it right away. We stayed for 9 days and had no complaints at all.
