This is an older campground built about 30 years ago by the Elks. A nice clubhouse with a small patio and two well-used BBQ's, two locations of restrooms and showers both of which were free to use, laundry facility, fish and crab cleaning station, recycling and waste center. The office had a few groceries, beverages, and free DVD's. Backed up to a small river and a short walk along the busy street took you to a waterfront walkway. Campers Saturday night were noisy until past midnight; management asked them to quiet down but didn't evict them. I suspect the local cops were too busy as this was the Astoria Crab, Wine and Seafood Festival weekend. This campground was mostly RV spots, but they also had tent spots and 3 cabins. Busy location during salmon season.

We stayed in one of the cabins, and had family in 2 RV spots. The cabin was adequate. Queen size bed isn't quite queen size but fit our queen air mattress. Cabin has electricity outlets, a light, a fan, a heater, and small desk. Was very tight inside but hit all the marks. Has a water spigot, fire pit, and picnic bench outside. Bathrooms were well kept. Staff was friendly and inviting. The RV spots were roomy compared to some other places we've been. Good location, decent distance to Astoria, Seaside, and Fort Stevens.

Kampers West is a well-run RV park. The sites are placed very close together. The restrooms are absolutely immaculate. The park is well-staffed. We saw four or five different staff members while we were there.

Very nice people. Excellent value. Cute park. Try to get near the pond if you like a little scenery and wildlife (as long as the sound of bull frogs and ducks don't bother you). Very close to Fort Stevens and a short drive to Astoria.

Lady working at the front desk was so beyond rude. Complaining that we asked a question when she had “10 minutes left on her shift” and got told she was gonna put us on the “block list” or whatever it’s called so we can’t go back because of one question.not impressed at all😤

The staff were very friendly the showers and bathrooms are clean., but the sites are too close together with absolutely no privacy. We had to keep our windows closed due to cigarette and BBQ smoke. We did not enjoy our stay at the park. Will not stay here again.

Can only think that this place has changed drastically from some of the negative reviews of it that I have seen from earlier years. We had never heard of this park and so came into it completely ignorant but are every glad that we found it. We had a water / electric site C32 in the section that backed onto water and that provided some very entertaining bullfrog choruses at times ( not enough to disturb sleep ). We had been greeted very cordially by the manager in the office and found our site vey agreeable, grassy and well trimmed with easy back in access. Washrooms are exceptionally clean, showers are FREE! Free coffee in the office. Wifi is comparable to the best we have experienced anywhere - fast and accessible even in the furthest corner of the site from the office, at all times of day, not just in 'Low Usage' periods, and once again, NO CHARGE! A good selection of DVDs in the office that are FREE to borrow. We had a small dog with us ... NO Charge . We had been asked for $5.00 a day for dog at Silver Lake Resort in Washington State. Nothing provided for that extra $5 .. just a GRAB! Laundry only $1.50 for machines ... we have paid as much as $3.50. Can't say enough good about this park ... it is big with many sites but still quiet and restful to be in. Very conveniently located close to Astoria and a very short trip down the coast to Seaside and Cannon Beach.
Would gladly recommend it and return ... Peter Russell

Have been wanting to visit Astoria, Oregon, for quite some time. When we left home we were on no particular schedule. We arrived in Astoria about 7 pm, on the 4th of July 2017. Many folks were locating places to park near the water in the downtown area. They were going to set up their camp chairs to watch the fireworks display going on a little later. After driving all day we were only interested in finding a spot to settle for the night. My first call was to the KOA Kampground in nearby Warrenton. The young lady on the phone told me she had one spot that our rig would fit and it was just $90.00 usd, for the night. She stated the the campground offered a free breakfast and lots of fun activities. And it was really a "destination" campground. As true as her statements were, it was not what I wanted to hear. I wanted to hear, "yes sir, I have a space for you and the overnight stay will cost you $40.00, for full hookup. You might have to unhitch your car to back your rig into the space." Fantasy? I called a couple other places and could only leave a message. We decided to follow the suggestion of a couple who were heading out to the fireworks viewing area. They directed us to an area that had some campgrounds one being the previously contacted KOA. The first camp we came to was Kampers West. We pulled in and found the office to be closed. However, on the board outside the office were very clear and concise instructions on how to check in after hours. We selected a site in the far corner near the water. We filled out the envelope and placed our $35.00, in it and were soon set up for the night. OK, some words to describe this place: quiet, very clean, well maintained, easy access to spaces, quiet, great pet area with poop bags and dump receptacle, very nice fish cleaning station and paved roads to the sites and did I mention QUIET?. This place is on our "GREAT" list and we will recommend it to others. Thank you, Kamper's West, for a wonderful night's rest after driving 250 miles.

Oh, cabin contains a queen size bed with covered mattress and bunk beds, small table and nightstand. Cozy for two but pretty crowded for 3 adults. Remember, if at all possible, snag cabin # 1. #3 is just too close to all of the tent campers and can get pretty noisy at times.
There are more places to choose from in the Warrenton area.
