Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is awesome for those wanting to ride the dunes. The staff is very helpful. The facilities are clean. Disappointed in the 'No outside wood' policy. Pretty spendy wood. Staying for six days and getting nickel and dimed and harassed about wood after spending $500 x eight sites to stay was assinine. Rethinking next year's stay. Internet speed is comparable to dial up, recommend getting a hot spot from Verizon, LTE works great.

I agree with the previous review. The campground is great for riding straight out to the dunes, and we love it for that. Most of the ladies working at the store are very helpful and patient with changing reservations. But that one, the older red haired lady with the southern accent, is just atrocious! She shouted at some other guests about parking after she cleaned a cabin, got in some black SUV, and drove around the park slowly for another hour staring at people and clearly texting. Then twice later that day, we heard her screaming at two different employees over trivial things. Don't know who she's sleeping with to still have a job. Whatever. The facilities for kids are nice with the jumping pad and playground, free tractor ride and their ice cream gig every night.

We were off season, midweek and the only ones there. Generally everything was fine. Good service at checkin. All open, gravel sites. Hookups good. Rain made things pretty messy but not sloppy. Many cabins around. Good pet area and places to walk. Probably fills up when dunes and atv season in in swing. Little high priced off season. Modest store.

We are so glad that you had a pleasant stay with us! During the peak season for the dunes, we can be pretty busy here at the park, as many guests who stay with us are here to enjoy the dunes as well. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another stay again sometime.

had the best time here! I could ride my sis right from the camp site to the dunes! It was an amazing location. There’s a well stocked store on site and Steve’s ATV is right next store for any off road needs. I stayed in the Southern Pacific caboose (not the one by the main entrance). It was SO cozy and comfortable! It featured a sofa, bed, tv, table and two chairs, a coffee station, fridge and microwave, closet, and a huge bathroom. I also could climb up the cupola in the morning to enjoy a morning tea while looking outside. The full size shower was more than I expected. The wall heater pointed right at the toilet- no cold buns! I also had a private patio, bbq, and fire pit. Metal patio furniture was up on the deck. I can’t recommend this place enough to off roaders! Not having to trailer to a riding site was amazing. Note- if you are not an off roader you may it enjoy the experience at this campground!

After-hours check in allowed the 6 of us access to the cabin. However not a single shower token was left for us with our key. The only staff at the campground was a 3rd party security guard that basically told us "tough luck"
This was poor customer service on KOA's part not having planned for 6 of their customers the ability to shower after a day of riding/hiking/sweating all day. Not recommened.

Worst experience ever at and campground ever they need to clean house and get new staff. Called to see if they had firewood available and the office staff said they did. Spent 30 min getting there when we arrived the maintenance staff was confrontational and yelled at me and my friends in a super unprofessional way.

We arrived about 5:30. They closed at 4:30, so we paid via an envelope. NO one checked. There were showers, but they require tokens, which we couldn't get. The shop was closed. You can hear the highway. There are a few cabins. It's pretty open between campsites, little privacy.

Very poor experience. Loud from parties, music, and dune buggies throughout day and night. I complained to staff and they did nothing. Quiet hours are not quite hours. The lots were large and level. Campground was clean.

What was a wonderful trip turned sour the day after we departed. We got a phone call from them the day after we got home accusing us of damaging the cabin we were in and stealing a picture. Then they billed us $500. We have no recourse. There was no check sheet to go over like when you rent a car. We cannot prove anything. I can't be more upset about this. We are not thieves. I will never stay at any other KOA's as long as I live and I will tell all my acquaintances my experience as well. This is all I can do. I hope other vacationers don't get robbed like we did. What's even more disappointing is that we really enjoyed our stay there. We had even bought a membership and talked about returning in the years to come. We tried to settle the issue and explain our side during the phone call......but we got hung up on. Twice!

The gals in the store and reservation desk are the best! They love what they do with a smile and a great sense of humor. There was one that was nasty with guests. You could clearly tell she was only there for the paycheck. Maybe her southern up bring. Very rude to fellow employees as well. I think I dealt with the store manager and the gal who works mostly evening's. They are such a joy and went above and beyond to make sure their guest's were satisfied. Thank you girls in the store. We have been coming here for several years as a family get together. We stopped coming for a few years until we heard about new owners. Great job, great employees, great updates. We already reserved for our next year family gathering. Keep the great gals in the store. Upgrade to better help for outside. See you next year;')
