On McMinnville's charming, old main street, Hotel Oregon strikes an inviting pose - as it has since 1905. Once home to a restaurant and lounge, banquet hall, Greyhound bus depot, Western Union, soda fountain and beauty parlor, the handsome four-story building we call Hotel Oregon is a delightful destination in the heart of Oregon's wine country.Warm lighting in the first floor pub, cozy tables and an impressive 40-foot long back bar invite close conversation over the glint of a fresh pint or maybe a game of shuffle board in the Paragon room. Artwork and wall hangings inspire thoughts of the past and a trip to the subterranean bistro-style Cellar Bar or magnificent Rooftop Bar (with its breathtaking 360-degree view of the region) are a must for any visitor to the hotel.

Nice hotel in the heart of McMinnville. Booked a room with shared bath down the hall. The furnishings are older but that adds to the charm. In room AC was a bit noisy but the location is worth it. Front desk staff is helpful. The pub service was a bit off for dinner and drinks afterwards.

First of all, McMinnville is a really cute town and this hotel is set in a great location near shops and restaurants. The staff is friendly, and the rooftop bar has a great view and delicious tater tots! The rooms, however, really need a refresh. They are small, dark, drab and kind of oppressive. They overall just seemed dingy. I couldn’t wait to get out of my room to check out the next morning. I’ve stayed at Edgefield, and their rooms are much nicer.

We stopped by this hotel/restaurant because we are passport members. If you don’t know about this and live in or frequently visit Oregon, check it out at any McMenimen’s location. This is a classic old hotel, remodeled and repainted in the bright colorful mcMenimen’s style, as always, honoring the original location and history. Look up the walking tour on their website if you have time and explore everything! Or, stop by the ground floor restaurant or rooftop bar and enjoy a drink, a snack or a full meal. We are fans of the tiny corn dog “scooby snacks” but the menu is broad and there will be something for everyone. I enjoyed a ginger-blood Orange cider. The beer options are also good and they have a classic variety of mixed drinks.

We had a great three night stay Sunday to Wednesday. This was our second visit to this hotel, we were here in 2007. We ended up in a suite style king VERY spacious. The next time we come we will be sure to catch a Friday/Saturday so we can see the cellar bar. We had two dinners and a breakfast, all great food in a welcoming atmosphere. We love the property and the artwork on all the four floors of walls and the interesting artifacts are good fun. This is a nice older hotel with so much character. We want to come back in May for the alien parade.

I’ve stayed at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon countless times (and have always loved it) so I expected McMenamins Hotel Oregon in McMinnville to be on par. What a disappointment. The one and only luggage cart is on its last crooked leg. Our $154/night single king bed room is tiny, the walls are paper thin, and the room’s HVAC unit keeps resetting itself to 67 degrees AC no matter what we do (so we turned it off). Most of the hotel amenities are unavailable—the great bar, the rooftop bar, and the cellar pub are all closed—with no explanation other than a shrug. Loud cars keep racing up the street, loud motorcycles are starting up or departing regularly, and at the moment a bunch of people are fighting on the street (on a sleepy Sunday night, it’s not even Friday or Saturday). Since I really wanna try to say something positive, the staff are super nice, the curtains are lovely, and our bed is comfy. Sadly that’s as far as it goes. I was just at McMenamins Edgefield last month and everything was as wonderful and consistent as it’s always been, making the contrast here at Hotel Oregon even more discouraging. I love you McMenamins, but I won’t be back here again.

Love this place ! It's a whole Experience and A great spot to take visiting friends and family. Great indoor and outdoor seating and kitschy immersive ambience. There a one of a kind movie theater ( snacks and drinks served ) a restaurant /bar soaking pool a cigar bar and more. Be sure to look For secret hideaways ( ask a local ) Check it out!

It's hard for me to write a negative review of a McMenamins hotel because I am a fan. So let me begin with the positives: large room, comfortable bed and friendly, efficient staff. Unfortunately, we were in a top floor room below the rooftop bar. Lots of noise of moving chairs, perhaps even tables. This was a corner room, overlooking the main commercial street of McMinnville, which meant we had to listen to loud, bass-thumping music until at least 11 p.m. Where this was coming from no one seemed to know -- staff were surprised when I mentioned it at checkout. And, as others have noted, this is a hotel in need of some upgrades. While I enjoy the charm and history of older hotels, the bathroom was too antiquated to be "charming." Try taking a shower in a clawfoot tub with a wraparound shower curtain that clings to you as you're showering! And speaking of not charming, the hotel has a very rundown look and feel, which certainly doesn't warrant a $200/night charge. I totally understand that Covid has negatively impacted the hotel industry. But I suspect the condition of Hotel Oregon preceded the pandemic and has been intentionally ignored. That's really too bad and I hope McMenamins will take note of the reviews and try to win back its disillusioned customers.

Hotel Oregon Pub, McMinnville is a picturesque spot in the downtown area of the town. The setting is pleasantly low keyed, with booths and tables in a mostly quiet environment. We appreciated the attention to Covid-19, with an armband to designate those vaccinated. The menus for lunch has good options, with a good wine list. If there is any small complaint, it might be somewhat soggy fries or the $9 price tag on a splash of wine. Overall though I'd go back again.

I'll start with the good part: the people who work there are incredibly nice and helpful, and keep the place as clean as possible. However, Hotel Oregon is just super run-down. Chipping paint, buckling linoleum in the bathroom, worn-out, ill-fitting flea-market furniture, and the smell... can't put my finger on that smell, but it was noxious. The beds are pretty, as you see in the room photos. But they don't show you the rest of the room, which in my case was just unusable (I had a king suite). And the bathroom -- it's not historic, it's just an insult to the customer. Summary: the problem with this hotel is the ownership. They clearly haven't put a dime into maintenance or updates in about 20 years, and it shows. I changed hotels after a couple of nights, and will never go back to a McMenamins.

We stayed for two nights at the hotel. As usual for McMenamins, the bed was not comfortable. The room was also far too small. We found these things to also be the case with The Crystal Hotel in Portland. The food and drink were ok, the rooftop bar is the highlight of the hotel. Apparently, McMenamins is suffering due to COVID and is asking for donations. Perhaps if the McMenamins brothers put some effort into making their hotels better, they might turn things around. McMenamins is famous for its live music and it would be sad to see the company fail due to mis-management.
