Detailed Reviews
This find was INCREDIBLE. I happened to get a last minute reservation here when my road trip plans changed and we were treated to 2 delightful nights of creature comforts in this fabulous spot! We stayed in the Sahalie Cabin - it was just two of us but it can definitely sleep more. The beds were SUPER comfortable, the kitchen had everything we would have needed to cook in but we ended up visiting the adorable McKenzie Bridge General Store for dinner (adorable outdoor spot with delicious food and games!). The cabin had a perfect outdoor setup with white string lights and a fire pit, although we decided to enjoy the indoor fireplace both nights instead. This was a perfect location to explore the natural beauty of the area (Blue Pool and Koosah/Sahalie Falls are stunning). Wi-fi at the cabin was great although we were so happy to be off the grid that we didn't really use it! Communication was also great and we didn't have any additional needs while there but I have no doubt they would have been addressed in a timely manner if we had. HIGHLY recommend this place, I don't have a bad word to say about it, and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We've stayed here twice, and will continue to visit for years. On a whim, we came here, because the weather was crummy and our usual cabin was booked - WHAT a great change of fortune. The 3 cabins are super nice, fully stocked and comfortable, with a fully-furnished kitchen, living room & bedroom, with a nice bathroom, deck and grounds (with a fire pit). We really like the people who run & own it, and their prices are super reasonable. I feel funny writing this, because I don't want it to become so popular that I can't get a booking again, but they deserve to be recognized and rated for what it is - exceptional. You're a short drive from gas, groceries, Sahalie Falls, Clear Lake, restaurants, Blue River Reservoir, Cougar Dam, fly fishing, icy water and Sisters.

We booked the Horse Creek Lodge shuttle to ride the McKenzie river trail. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. The stops along the drive to point out things to be aware of on the trail, proved really useful. We loved the ride and when we arrived back the lodge the free refreshments and showers were amazing. We could just relax there for a while afterwards and trade trail stories with others that had also ridden it that day.

The cabin was well appointed. Unlike most places, we had everything we needed - plenty of towels and soap, all the utensils, pots, pans, everything we needed to cook for two days. The cabin was very clean and everything worked! And the fireplace was wonderful with enough wood for the whole stay. We'll be back!

Absolutely the most accommodating and kindest outfitters! They were not busy in November and took the time to familiarize us with the different access points along the Mckenzie River Trail. Due to quite a bit of early season snow we choose to start a few miles in thanks to there advice. When we came off of trail car was waiting with a thank you card. Horse Creek Outfitters is the best.

We had a wonderful time relaxing in the cabin, walking the property and rafting with their crew. We were particularly impressed by the clean shuttles to/from the river and how much information about the river, area, history, etc., our guide, Josh, shared with us. The company owners, Gary and Alyssa, were so helpful in accommodating our last-minute booking and making sure we had a great time. Super hospitality!

The owners and staff were absolutely amazing. A friend recommended I use HCL to shuttle the McKenzie River Trail, and added that I should do the Best of McKenzie in order to ride King Castle downhill. It was such a great choice, and I'm so glad I rode both trails. I can't believe the great service, especially for the price. Shuttle drives to and from King Castle trail, which is not a particularly short drive, plus a bus shuttle up to the top of the McKenzie River Trail. On top of that, it wasn't just a shuttle ride -- our guide stopped multiple places on the drive to point out waypoints along the trail and give us tips and advice, before sending us on our way. On top of it all, they offered free beer, sodas, and showers at the end, and were down to just hang out and chat as long as we were!
Truly great people, truly great service, and truly a great deal.

I lucked into Horse Creek Lodge & Outfitters after I had trouble with the transmission on my camper van. Owners and staff could not have been kinder or more helpful. The kitchenette cabin was exactly to my tastes; comfortable, quiet, great fireplace, all the pots and pans I needed, and in a ridiculously verdant setting along the McKenzie River.

We've had the pleasure of staying at Horse Creek multiple times, Delta House, the cabins, and camping. We've also used their mountain bike shuttle service, bike rental, and rafted multiple trips with the guides. The owners are wonderful, patient, and kind humans. They are a great source of knowledge for the area with any activity you are looking for. They hire and train wonderful guides for rafting as well. I just don't want too many people to know about this place, so I can book again next year!

There were four of us who stayed here. The grounds and rooms are very well-kept and clean. A beautiful location. Our cabin was located in the woods and close to the river. It was right next to a mountain bike path. We are on a bicycle tour and the hosts were very accommodating.

Short walking distance from the cabins, but the sites tucked away in the trees on the far end of the property. If you are on the porch a cabin, they are off to the left, maybe the equivalent of a block away.
It cost us $140. For my wife and I and our son. There was a king size bed and a pull out couch that were all very comfortable.
