Needed a getaway during off-season so visited Wallowa Lake Resort in mid-October. Cabin was perfect, well-kept and immaculately clean. Went hiking the following day and did a little sight-seeing. Stopped in Wallowa for breakfast at the Main Street Grill the last day there. Will try to make this trip annually,

The cabin/ house (22) is essentially great. it has a view of the lake with grass front yard, has a kitchen for making food and allows dogs. They are in the middle of fixing this one, so there is 3+ bedrooms and only 1 shower and some sheet rock showing, and there are wall heaters. It is decorated straight out of the 70s and the furniture is adequate and hopefully some pieces will be updated due to wear. The management company responded w concerns quickly. ps. almost no signal here, but you have free wifi. Would suggest: better driveway signage, knives that cut, games for guests, condiments for kitchen.

We stayed here a few nights for our yearly vacation. We were in cabin 8, "Cottonwood". We arrived on a Thursday and stayed for three nights. For a rustic cabin, we thought it was very clean, and it was well stocked with kitchen supplies and grilling supplies with propane grill. You have to realize this is a rustic cabin, and NOT the Mariott, okay people?? Everything that is included and not included, is laid out in the 4-page reservation notice we received upon booking. READ through this so you know what to expect and what not to expect. We stayed in and grilled dinner two nights on the grill and also used the 2-burner stove with no issues. Yes, the kitchen is not big, but again, this is a rustic cabin, not the Marriott! Everything we needed was provided in this cabin, except for food and coffee. There is a covered porch with an eating table for two, which was very nice since it rained two of the three days. We had wild deer just a few feet from our porch to greet us one morning. Adequate space for parking and it was very quiet. However, we were here in mid-September when the crowd is dying down, so that helped. We were within walking distance to the tram and/or the park and marina. Now, why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.... First, I believe this cabin is attached to the owner's house and the main gift shop. Therefore, I think it shares the same hot water heater. My wife and I take 5-7 minute showers, with me taking a shower after her. Hot water was beginning to run out about half way through my shower on all days we were here. Also, the toilet would run sometimes and we would have to jiggle the handle to get it to stop. Bed was a little hard for what we are used to but it would not deter us from staying here again. Overall, we loved our stay here and would not hesitate to stay at this same cabin again. Great time, great memories!!

We rented Cabin 12 for 3 days and nights -- wonderful peaceful quiet cabin complete with babbling brook, spotless inside and out, fully stocked kitchen with everything needed for cooking in instead of eating out. Plenty of hot water for dishes and showers, quiet , deer ambling through, along with quail, woodpeckers, and song birds. Nice hiking trail and overlook for Wallowa Lake right up the hill 1/4 mile up the way, along with the tram, horseback rides, miniature golf, go carts and a few restaurants and ice cream shops you could walk to if you have kids. Just lovely.

We checked in easily and quickly. Desk employees were friendly and cheerful. Cabin was small but cozy and had a king bed. We loved the gas fireplace to quickly warm up the cabin. We saw a lot of deer and one which startled me out in the dark walking my dog.(LOL). The location was convenient for nice walks through the state park and on the road toward the trailheads. We stayed in the season that is beautiful but many activities are closed. If beautiful scenery and low crowds are what you like, then I would recommend the off seasons. We want to return in the summer to enjoy the lake water and more activities. The town of Joseph is fun, cute and a few miles away.Another review stated that the cabin was not cleaned while they were there. This was not a fair review to the management. People need to understand you are renting a home or cabin. This is not a hotel. You do not get room service everyday. Frankly, we enjoy the privacy. That's why we like to rent cabins and homes especially when pets are allowed. There is a towel exchange every coupe of days and the office is open if you really need anything during the day. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.

This is my first time staying in this resort - Wallowa Lake/Flying Arrow Resort. I had no idea what to expect. Check-in went very smooth. I was greeted by two pleasant ladies who handled my reservation with ease and quickness. In just a few minutes I was able to unlock my cabin and step into a warm and inviting world. A lamp was lit in the living room sending out a warm and welcoming glow. It felt like someone had left the light on for me coming home. There was also a lamp lit in the bedroom casting a warm, soft, relaxing glow, inviting me to rest. Everything was spotless. The towels and linens had a fresh, clean, outdoor smell that reminded me of hanging sheets/linens out on the clothesline. The whole cabin was fresh and clean. There were no smells of mold, dust, dampness or lack of use, closed up smell. The bath towels/hand towels/washcloths were plush, smelling fresh and clean and very absorbent. I stayed four nights. I wasn't wanting to leave and come home.

Beware: Wallowa Lake Resort is not a resort. They rent cabins. You pay the same amount for a room your second night and so forth; yet, your room will never be cleaned. They never asked us if we need anything. Additionally, they will charge you $30.00 if you leave a mess or what they consider a mess. You see, if you stay more than one night, it is all about penalizing you for daring to do such a thing, whereby they refuse to clean your room. They also want you to leave a tip for the absent person who never is there to clean your room or ask if you need anything. I had to go to the front desk to request toilet paper after three days of no see and no hear. To reiterate, we paid around $750.00 for four days and no one came to clean our room. It is called a resort, though it is not like a fancy, new resort in any way. They are cabins and you will not have a clean room every day with fresh towels and linens. I will add, we are fine with having our room cleaned every other day, though there are those who prefer a clean room every day and they are paying for this in their fee. The first night you stay, you will find your room immaculate in cleanliness which we were grateful for. All is fine if you simply desire overnight lodging or prefer no one come into your cabin. I will kindly mention, staff are friendly and will answer your questions.

We were of two minds regarding our stay at the resort. The lake, resort and surrounding mountain property are indeed beautiful and definitely worth the visit. The cabin we rented was not what we expected. It was very cute, as the website images showed, but was located right next to the road and across the street from the go-cart track making it a non-starter. The two gals running the office were very sympathetic and worked hard to find us another cabin which they ultimately did. They were great! The second cabin was not nearly as cute; in fact, it was quite "rustic." The gas grill was really funky and did not work well, but we were able to use it anyway. The wifi was very spotty and all but unusable. The cabin was not clean enough in our opinion, especially considering the additional $30 cleaning fee we were automatically charged when we made the reservation. The cabins were not near the lake, although they were more or less within walking distance if you are not carrying your gear (chairs, food, books, etc.). On the plus side, our small cabin was reasonably priced and the kitchen was well stocked. Having said all that, we still had a good time and enjoyed our stay.

The "resort" is comprised or many independently-owned cabins managed by one company. We were very pleased with both the cabin we rented and the service from the management company. #25 is right on the river with good views and great sound of the rushing water. Furnishings in the cabin were high quality and beyond adequate. Would be nice if they had recycling.
