The new owners are very welcoming. Beatrice was our B&B manager and cook. Very friendly and gave us a warm greeting. Room comfortable. Lovely walk around Bridal Veil Falls across the highway. Other state park falls nearby. Good breakfast -- Beatrice knows how to cook!

This hotel is in a magical setting. The cottage rooms have skylights, and if it rains, you can fall asleep or wake up to the patter of rain on the skylight. You'll wake up to the slowly rising sun. My cottage room had a canopy bed. It was raining most of the visit, so I didn't use the deck that much.

Breakfast was fantastic, and featured local produce. Beatriz, one of the owners, made a fantastic meat-and-potato hash, and said that she not only knew the farm where the meat came from, she had known the pig!

As a note, you'll need to pay in full in advance when you make the reservation.

There was a change of ownership at some point. Looking at some of the reviews, the new ownership seems to have completely changed everything, and they even have some neat expansion plans.

If I ever want to see the Columbia Gorge again, I'd definitely stay again!

What a great stay at the bridalveil b&b. The owners are amazing and so nice and welcoming to us and our pooch! The breakfast was so good! Probably best we had on our whole trip to Portland! Amazing location right across the street from the falls! Highly highly recommend!!

Paid $322 to stay for one night after getting married. The owner, Beatriz, was rude as soon as we arrived. She complained that she was unaware that we were staying that night even though we had booked the room more than a month in advance and emailed her the day before to confirm that we would be there. She would not allow us to keep a cooler with our wedding cake in our room (after check in time), and made us leave it outside by the barbecue. My mother and mother-in-law were waiting for us in the parking lot with masks on while we were carrying our things into our room to comply with covid restrictions. She told them they could not be on the property and made them stand across the street . She asked if we wanted water and tea. We said yes and then noticed an $85 charge after (two bottles of water and some tea bags) which we had to dispute with her. Her dogs barked and growled at us the entire time we were on the patio and she made no effort to intervene. After Beatriz collected our money she treated us like garbage. Not what we had hoped for our wedding night.

I would encourage you to be very wary about booking with Bridal Veil. We booked two rooms for two nights (one of the cabins and one room in the lodge), sent our checks to pay for the rooms (which were promptly cashed), and received e-mail confirmation that our rooms were reserved (a copy of which we had with us). When we arrived, however, we were informed that the cabin was only available for one night. The strangest part about the whole experience was that the owner kept insisting that it was somehow our fault. He kept bullying us, insisting that two of us would need to leave the next day. His only "solution" was that we could stay in his room, which needless to say gave us the creeps given the treatment we were receiving (he apparently had people arriving the next day to stay in the cabin for a week and there was no question about inconveniencing them). We all four left after one night (and, after quite the delay, did finally get reimbursed for the second night). At no point was the owner willing to admit that he had messed up and we never received an apology. In all fairness, we were dealing only with Roland; if you do decide to try booking with this place, maybe at least be sure that Diane will be there when you arrive (we never interacted with her).

The managers you spoke of are no longer affiliated with Bridal Veil Lodge, and have not been since mid October, 2013, so your visit must have been many months ago. I am so sorry for your experience, and I would like to know what the date was when you stayed, and get more details from you so that I can try to make it right for you. We were closed for a period for repairs after the previous managers departed, and the lodge is now for sale. We are open again, but on a limited basis, and are taking reservations no farther ahead than one month. Again please accept my apology, and please contact me at bridalveillodge@aol.com. I was hesitant about reserving two nights stay at the Bridal Veil Lodge because of their payment policies. You must pay in advance by check and your reservation is not confirmed until they receive that check. Credit card is used only to hold the reservation. However, after reading all the positive reviews, we (husband and I and another couple) decided to give it a try. We reserved the upper and lower cottages for two nights.

We were late arriving because we had some difficulty finding the place. There is no sign and no indication where to park. After hesitantly driving into what we thought might be a driveway, we were shocked by what we found. Unlike the charming pictures on the website, we found a rundown house with junk on the front porch and an intimidating, growling, barking dog. As we walked into the dark, dingy lodge, we quickly realized that was not a place we wanted to spend any time.....let alone have breakfast. When we walked into the cottages, we quickly realized we could not sleep there. The cottages were probably nice when the pictures on the website were taken. However; we found them disheveled, worn and dirty. Our travelling companion was checking the sheets and found a big disgusting hairball under the fitted sheet on the upper cottage bed.

As we sat on the dirty deck of the cottage trying to find reservations elsewhere on our phones, we were overran by a flock of obnoxious turkeys. I have never been a fan of turkeys that are running loose.

As I said, we did not stay, and after returning home, attempted to get our money back. Instead we received a condescending (blame the victim) and insulting email. We were given a link to look up the definition of a bed and breakfast. All four of us have travelled the world and stayed in many different accommodations. We know the definition of a bed and breakfast. Instead of our money being refunded, we were given a coupon for two nights stay at none other than the Bridal Veil Lodge. We will not be back. I still am baffled by all the positive reviews.

We did a "sampling" tour of the Pacific Northwest, and spent our last night at Bridal Veil Lodge. Our only regret for the whole trip was not staying longer in the Columbia River Gorge, and at the Bridal Veil. The area is beautiful, our room at Bridal Veil just wonderful. The hostess was charming, and cooked a killer omelet for our breakfast. She was even willing to serve us at 7:30 so we could catch our flight from Portland. Unbelievably, this charming location was 30 minutes from PDX. When we return to the PNW, we will definitely come back to Bridal Veil Lodge.

We paid for a two night stay, but the "Queen Size" bed was smaller than any we'd ever seen. The room was also very tiny and had no place to hang up any clothes. We got no sleep the first night, due to the size of the bed. The next morning we told the owner we would be leaving and asked if she would refund the money paid for the second night. She said "yes." We wrote our address down and gave it to her. After not receiving anything for three weeks, we emailed her and she asked for our address again. It is now more than three months since that email and we still haven't received the refund. This is a very poor business practice so we would definitely not endorse this B & B.

First of all, you were mailed a refund for the second night. I show that my bank delivered and cleared your check. Second of all your husband is unusually Tall and I warned him that we only had queen beds during booking (YOU STILL PERSISTED). Upon arrival I revised with you that I had concerns that your husband would not fit in our beds. I am taken back by your rudeness and insincerity. You may leave that at the door. The lodge is located just a few miles from Wahkeenah and Multnomah Falls. Also, the trail to Bridal Veil Falls is directly across the street and is magnificent. Beatrice is very nice and really knows the area well, including all of the local trails. The property is one you can explore and find yourself sitting on a bench, meditating high above the lodge while listening to the Bridal Veil creek down below. Breakfast was great and we enjoyed the company of a young couple on their honeymoon at our table.

Wow!!! What a change new owners make!!!
All the work and money spent to make this a little piece of heaven sure shows!!!
I was there this spring when all the gorgeous trees were greening. Walking to the Falls was as easy as crossing the street and coming back to a room that wants to pamper you into total relaxation was a dream!!!
Love the place, and love the new owners!
I'll be going back again.

We are not taking any more reservations for most of August at this time. As you have seen, the B&B is for sale and we are operating on an abbreviated schedule. Depending on the sale situation, we may be going back to full scheduling but I do not know for sure at this time. Regarding the mixed reviews. Before the property was for sale, we did have a manager that recieved some very negative reviews. He is long gone and myself and cousin, co-owner and founder of the B&B business, have been upgrading and hopefully doing an excellent job of taking care of customers since his departure. Unfortunately, any business cannot make everyone completely happy all of the time, but if there is any problem, our intention is to make things right as best we can. Bob Amend Bridal Veil Lodge
