"Industrial Chic" aka bare bones room design feels one step above a college dorm room. Wall-mounted squeeze bottles in bathroom and shower take the place of soap and shampoo. Not worth the $97/night I paid. For a couple dollars more go for the Hampton if you're a Hilton Honors member.

Staying here was convenient with distance to Legoland. If Holiday Inn Express is up your alley, this is the Hilton equivalent. It’s very basic with minimal amenities, towels were not very clean looking, bedding was minimal with a sheet and very thin blanket, and at $250 a night it was disappointing.
Indifferent to front desk staff. They were not welcoming but were not rude and they did provide another set of towels when asked. They just appeared as though the job was boring with lazily reclining in the chairs surfing their phones.
The only positives are being closely located to food, shopping, and Legoland. The floor of the room, like other reviewers said, was sticky, and my kid was weirded out by it. The shower, toilet, and sink had clearly not been scrubbed down as you could see mildew and mold build up. No mention of what time breakfast would be available or that it was modified. One pitcher of juice, single serve cereal boxes, individual bagels, and frozen breakfast sandwiches.

Very nice visit to the property stopping owner during our Anniversary "close to.home because of Covid Syndrom"
We had some.noisy guest next door and the front desk did move our room. The one thing to correct is the soap dispensers and shower etc. They have a sort of squeeze bottle which most likely is not conducive to keep clean during this time. I think the Hilton chain should remove this kinda.of.modern look and simply give customers traditional soap . Most likely better. I dont want to touch this. So the overall safety protocol not sure at this property. Also , even though food and breakfast buffet is limited. THERE really was nothing. Just 4 cereals??. No Bananas .... wheres da banana.s.
Not bad but probs not going back

Hotel's Favourite
For the price this is the best hotel in the area. We’ve stayed at the other middletown hotels. This location isn’t aw convenient but you need a car anyway. These rooms are clean and spacious. I love how they provide lots of hooks ans bench to put your items. The lounge area is fun for kids with foose ball and lots of seating to relax. The breakfast buffwt was free and had a lot of variety and quality was good. The fitness center is really small and there is no pool. It can be noisy because walls and floors are thin but this was not an issue for us.

I stayed for 3 nights on a work trip. The staff thought of every little detail and I found out they have great extended stay rates if ur staying a week it's about $80 after tax and fees or it is $70 for two weeks after tax and fees to accommodate your stay. They could definitely add a microwave and coffee makers in the room but besides that the room was really clean, the bathroom with walk in glass shower with a power rain head keep me feeling as clean as the room(Working for Marriott and Ramada, and Super 8 in the past, I know where to look and the room was spottless, the bed frame was solid wood casing from the floor up so you cant find anything nasty under the bed making it one of the easiest rooms to keep clean with a sealed sticker on the door letting u know its covid clean. I have stayed a few other places in town but from the rate I got, to how comfy the bed and pillows were, to the attention to detail, to a rolling computer desk that I could roll right up to the bed so I could get my stuff done without getting out of bed. I would recommend here over any of the other hotels in the area. They have a 24/7 store and fitness center as well as a nice covered patio outside for when it's nice. Having every inch of the parking lot as well as all the floor exits all on camera was a nice touch to security. '55 HD flat screen tv to watch march madness was a real treat. I will definitely stay again if I am every in the area or working. I love when the housekeeping staff knows what they are doing as well as friendly recommendations at the front desk even at 4 am in the morning when I went to another hotel next to TGI Fridays(I wont name the one) but they flat out denied me because I had 3 different cards of payment that they do not accept and cash as well but they didnt accept that either so I was lucky that a TRUly 5 Star by Hilton was right up the road and turned my 1 night stay into 3 nights 4 days. Thank you to the over night audit gentleman who made sure I had a place to sleep after driving til 4 am as well as the front desk and manager ladies for the friendly recommendations as well as accommodations with lower rates and signing me up so my stays earn hilton honors points for free stays in the future.

I have to begin with saying the girl working the desk ( I didn’t get her name) was very nice when we checked in but it went downhill from there. We have always stayed at Hilton hotels and decided to try Tru, we will never stay at a Tru again. To begin with the bed had the fitted sheet on top of the bed… made and tucked in!!! There was black long hair in the bed, on the floor and on the sink. The floor is “want to be” hardwood which we knew when reserving but it was very slippery as it was pouring out and our shoes were wet, when getting out of the shower it was also very slippery. My feet were black from walking on the floor. There was no soap in either soap dispensers, no bath mat and only one towel, one washcloth. The shower handle fell off when I turned the shower off, the bathroom door only opened halfway like it was stuck. We couldn’t get the room comfortable, it was either freezing if we turned the AC on or hot if we turned it off, There was no microwave in the room, maybe that’s because it’s a “minimalist “ room but really would have liked a microwave. For breakfast The cereal was stale, the breakfast sandwiches were sitting out and not refrigerated and no napkins out. We were booked for three nights but after the first hour we cancelled the next two nights and checked into the Marriott. We also had a Tru room reserved again in a few days but cancelled it. Very disappointed .

This was by far the worst experience I have had with any hotel or motel as well.
The first night I checked in (4/12), there was a live tick in the shower. Furthermore, there was no soap in the dispenser and no unopened bar off soap to use. The receptacles for shampoo, conditioner, and soap was filthy.
I thought I would get another room for my second night after checking out the first day.
When I arrived the second night, I was given a room key to a room that was already occupied. The guest answered the door after hearing me fumbling around with their door.
I went back to the front desk and the guy gave me another room on the third floor (305). I lugged all my luggage upstairs to find out the new key did not work and the seal (COVID) was broke on the door. I went back to the front desk and the guy said “it must be occupied”.
He then gave me a room on the first floor (122) which was a handicap room. I walk a short distance to that room and the key did not open the door. I return to the desk and explained the key did not work and he said he would let me in with the master key. I asked him how I would get in and out after he let me in. He said he will let me in and out going forward. I find that totally unacceptable. The guy open the door and let me in. As I began to unpack, I turn the thermostat to cool as it was hot in the room. I undressed then got in the shower to find out there was no soap or shampoo in this room either. I got out the shower and got dressed and called the front desk. While the phone rang about 2 minutes before someone picked up, I noticed it was still hot in the room and that the air conditioner was out of order. When the guy answered I explained the issues and he said come back to the desk and he will get me another room because the air conditioner is not working. I got dressed, packed all my things, and headed back to the front desk where the guy gave me a key to another room on the third floor.
I went to this new room exhausted and upset. When I arrived at the room, the new key did not unlock the door. I took the key back to the guy and he said “you got to be kidding me”. He apologized and said he didn’t know what was going on. He then came up to let me in with the master key. He tried both keys he gave me to find out the keys would not work.
After going in the room, I checked the shower and there was an empty soap dispenser on the shower floor and dust and hair all in the shower.
I called the front desk and he said he

It's unfortunate that a Hilton property is this bad. The exterior of the hotel and the decor are quite modern and light. But from there, the property quickly goes downhill. The hallways were un-vacuumed with bits of paper and trashing laying on the floor.
When we got to the room and closed the door, the deadbolt would not lock because the door was mounted incorrectly. We called the front desk and were given a different room. But it was worse than the first. It was filthy with empty soap containers . We were later told that they had stopped supplying soap because of COVID. While that might be OK, the containers that held the soap were filthy and fungus filled.
When we showed the manager pictures of the soap containers filled with fungus, he briefly looked at the picture, said ugh, and returned his attention to the computer. He did not seem interested in the problem,
When we arrived for breakfast there was a single biscuit sandwich and dry cereal. We asked whether there was any more food or even more drinks, the manager merely said he was waiting for another "shipment" and once again returned to his computer.
If Hilton knows how poorly run this Hilton Tru is managed, they should be ashamed of themselves. I've long been a Hilton customer, but the visit to this TRU by Hilton may have just changed that.

Ive stayes at this hotel twice, for about 4 nights each time. The hotel itself is a clean and welcoming place. The staff is always helpful and a pleasure to talk to. The best are comfortable, the bathrooms have complimentary shampoo, conditioner and bosywash, just incase you forget to pack any. Highly recommending this hotel to others.

This hotel was disappointing. The towels were dirty and the pillows smelled really bad. When I called the front desk for clean pillows they told me they didn’t have extra pillows. I requested clean pillow cases to change them out myself. The soap dispenser in the shower was missing soap and where the bottle was supposed to go, it was disgusting. I had to call the first day multiple times for a floor towel and then again for pillows.
There was no place to put your clothes except for a few hangers. Complementary grab and go breakfast was a joke because they would run out of food by 8:30.
Definitely will not stay there again and not recommend it to my family or friends.

OK I was able to answer my own question. We stayed at this hotel for two nights and checked out today; please see my review to follow. So the answer to my question is there are only three types of rooms and the layout is all the same: two queen beds, one king bed or an accessible room which has a layout to accommodate wheelchairs. So really there are no rooms to be upgraded to except for maybe the accessible room and they only have four of these. There were however dedicated Hilton diamond parking spots but because the hotel was so full the second night this was not available to us.
"for a newer hotel in this area... you wouldn't know it. probably poorly managed as it is already looking run down. disappointing experience."Read full review
