Victorian home with three spacious themed rooms (each with a private bath). House was part of the Underground Railroad and is the one of the oldest buildings in Marion. Within walking distance of downtown and the Harding Home. Hot breakfast served. Cable and WiFi included. Weekly chapel services held on Saturday nights. The home was built by the son of the town's founder and served as a station on the Underground Railroad. Many of the hiding places and secret passages remain intact. It is rumored there were tunnels that connected this home with three other stations. Our three guest rooms are decorated to celebrate Marion's rich local history. The Presidential Room honors President Warren Harding and Ohio's other seven presidents. The School Room holds a classic book collection and reminds visitors of old local schoolhouses. The Coke Room is classic Americana with many examples of vintage licensing and advertising. Rates range from $79-129 per night with no added tax.

Very nice hosts! Dustin and his folks are very accommodating and make you feel welcome! I love homes with history and this house definitely has it! Felt very comfortable here as if I were home. I would stay here again next time I’m in the area.

I think it was Nov 2015 when I visited, great place & host!
Our family lost a loved one so my recollection of the date might be off.
Was amazing! Beautiful! Very nicely decorated, historical. Very comfy & cozy.
I loved this bed & breakfast!
Great rates for off season.

Pictures don't do it justice. The history of the house and elegance of it made this a perfect weekend get away. The details on the inside only add to the charm of this quaint home. Dustin was a great host with an amazing breakfast! 5 stars; would highly recommend.

The house is all cut up now, I dont know how or why the house was cut up, the house WAS restoration my my ant and it's a historical house and it was Register as one, my ant had the house in the Historic Landmark for marion city. It is a sham that marion city let this happed to the house, it was part of the unground railroad from the south. But it was just for the money of the house, not what the house was in History, I not know what happed to all the paper work that my ant had on the house but I gust they lost it so the house could be all cut up like this. But no one cares about history no more just more rooms to make more money......

+1
Looking for a cheaper place than the hotel in upper Sandusky I searched the web. I found this place and was surprised by the cost. So I called. The website was correct. For $69.00 a night you can stay in the PRESIDENT SUITE. Decorated in honor of the 8 Ohio presidents our country has had. Nice King size bed was very comfortable. TV, daybed w/trundle. Secretary desk where you can leave a note about your stay. Full bath of its own. This is an old house on Vine St that has been converted into a B&B. With only 3 rooms to choose from. But that's good because with less than 5 beds there is no taxes. They have the PRESIDENT SUITE @ $69.00/ night. THE SCHOOL ROOM & the COKE ROOM. @ $59.00/night. This was our first time in a B&B and we loved it. We were served a full breakfast each morning of eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. There are drinks and snacks available in the dining room for you if you get hungry. At no extra cost. The Haven is run by a mother, father & son. They have a ministry service on Saturdays. Via periscope. They treat you like family. Good people. Dustin, the son, gave us a tour and told us of the history of the house, which was built in 1838. There is a lot of slave history here and it's neat to learn about the hiding places in this home. If you are a history buff or just like old houses, this is the place for you.

The family that owns and manages this place is super nice. The rooms are clean and full of history and cute themes. We stayed in the Coca-Cola room, and it was very agreeable. I would stay here again. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. I personally loved all of the history they told us about the house and some of the antiques they have on site. I would stay here again, and I would recommend staying here for others!

My father spent 2 nights in the Presidential suite while he was flooded out of his home in LaRue. It is clean, comfortable and historic, but the best feature is the owners. We were stressed out and rushed to get there but once we arrived they made him feel at home. My father can't see very well and he got a special tour, help using the microwave, and flexible check in / checkout times. The owners really went above and beyond what we expected form a B&B - we highly recommend the Haven on Vine.

We really liked this place. We stayed in the presidential suite, one of the three themed rooms. It was quite large, nicely carpeted, comfortable bed and clean. The bathroom had a high step up, but was also clean and pleasant. There is a nice set of chairs that are situated for TV watching in the room. They provide you with free bottled water.
Their weekday rate was around $50, which is a great deal compared to the hotels in the area. The drawback to this old house is 20 stairs going up to the bedrooms.
The house and the room have lots of antique mirrors and cabinets making this an interesting setting. This house was used as part of the Underground Railroad, and the owners describe that involvement, and explain where the hidden rooms are in the house.
Breakfast was an egg casserole, pre-cooked sausage, and canned pineapple. It wasn't bad, but nothing outstanding either. They also provide all the Keurig coffee you want.
We went out for dinner and when we came back it was raining very hard. One of the owners, who live at the house, came out with an umbrella to bring us in, a very nice touch! The owners are also using the house for their youth ministry outreach work. We found them to be very friendly.

I've stayed at the Haven on Vine twice, once in 2012 and again in 2014. Both times, it was great, but I'll focus on my more recent visit.
We were a group of two visiting Marion for the Warren Harding Home and Tomb. We'd looked at other hotels for the trip (Comfort Inn, Hampton, etc.) but they were all in the $110 range. For two people in one room at the Haven on Vine, it was $89. The price is great.
In terms of location, this bed and breakfast was right near the middle of Marion. The Warren Harding Home was maybe a five minute walk away.
We arrived at the Haven on Vine around 5 pm. Jim and Ina, the proprietors, came out and greeted us as we were retrieving our luggage from the trunk of our car. They were very friendly, and led us upstairs to our rooms. All of the rooms are upstairs, and there is no elevator access. When we decided we wanted to get something to eat, Jim and Ina pointed us in the direction of several local eateries. All in all, the service was great.
The building itself has historic origins, as it was part of the Underground Railroad. That makes it great for a history buff like myself. The room was clean and cozy. It had a flat screen television. There was also free wifi, although we didn't use it, and consequently, I can't comment on how good the connection was. Each room has a private bath, and ours was absolutely spotless. On the wall of the shower is a dispenser for soap and shampoo--no tiny little sample bottles.
The bed was comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was served at 8:30 in the morning. My understanding is that this time can be adjusted depending on the circumstances. The breakfast was far better than any motel breakfast. We ate blueberry pancakes, sausage, pineapple, and yogurt parfaits. We had a nice chat with Jim and Ina while eating. The breakfast was great.
All in all, I'd stay here again. The room was very clean, I slept soundly, the service was good, and the breakfast was good. It was a great little place for a history buff like me. The only possible drawback is that all of the rooms are on the second floor. It didn't affect me, but it's something for others to keep in mind. Anyway, a great place overall.
