The Hackett offers a unique hotel experience in the heart of historic Marietta, Ohio. Built in 1890, The Hackett is a completely renovated 5-room boutique hotel with classically chic decor and modern amenities. The Confluence is a common area which offers a kitchenette, snacks, beverages, meeting areas, and entertainment for all guests. Rooms are decorated in an antique-chic method with modern furnishings and historic details. Most rooms have a queen-size pull out couch as well. All of the rooms are named to pay homage to influential figures in Marietta's past. Located above The Galley restaurant and the Adelphia Music Hall, we offer room service during The Galley's operating hours as well as access to the finest dining in town. Plus, The Adelphia boasts live entertainment every weekend. All of the rooms at The Hackett are located on the third floor of an historic structure. There is no elevator or lift available at the facility. As such, The Hackett is not suitable for wheelchair users or persons with limited mobility that precludes the use of stairs. In an effort to provide the Marietta area with the best entertainment experience available, The Adelphia Music Hall is a part of The Hackett facility. The Adelphia is equipped with state of the art equipment to provide the best musical quality. As such, during some entertainment events sound will travel to the hotel. Please keep in mind The Adelphia hosts entertainment every weekend and some week days from approximately 9:00pm until 2:00am. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you foresee this being an issue, please contact us with questions.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Riley Suite which is super spacious and stylish. The room and bathroom were spotless and serviced daily. I forgot that this is the norm, because so many hotels discontinued maid service because of COVID. The suite is above a music venue and the entire place is a event location. We stayed on days without a band and it was very private and perfectly quite. In fact we slept better than at home.
On Sunday check in is remote, we received an email with detailed instructions, no problem. The 6 hotel rooms are accessed via a pretty steep staircase, no elevator. This was no issue, but I’d you have limited mobility this place would not be a good choice.
Parking is plenty right next door. You are in the heart of downtown Marietta and walking distance to many great restaurants and good coffee shop, Jeremiahs. The 6 rooms share a common area with lounge, fridge, keurig and breakfast items. I recommend the Hackett over chain hotels on the outskirts.

The Riley Suite was very comfortable but also subject to a lot of outside noise as it is on the street-side of the building. There were several minor condition issues with the room, but they did not affect our stay. The stairs to the rooms provide a good workout and are a bit steep in addition to being numerous, so holding the handrail is advised. The dining area includes a full refrigerator/freezer and microwave, but the hotel only provides a couple of kinds of breakfast-serving size cereal, orange juice, milk, tea bags and a limited selection of Keurig coffee.
The Galley restaurant at street level below the hotel is very good but does not serve breakfast. It would be nice if the Hackett provided a coupon for breakfast at one of the nearby restaurants (strongly recommend the Busy Bee).

Picked the Hackett as a fun option while in town visiting family and I’m so glad I stayed here. Yes there are stairs, the building was built in the 1800’s. Once upstairs you enter into a really comfy common space where you can get coffee, water, etc. I was in the largest room and it was amazing! I highly recommend it if you do a romantic get-away. The curtains close and black out light from the street at night. The bathroom was super cool with the stunning antique vanity and modern shower. Bed was super comfy and the room is really quiet overnight. I will definitely stay again when I’m back in Marietta.

Nice location centrally located to museums and river cruises and college. and the food at street level restaurant is quite good and service all around, food and hotel, pleasant. Apparently, however, the owner is a different story. He had a dinner get together with his three "friends" in the upstairs hotel room guest area until about 9 to 9:30 pm. The boys got louder as the evening wore on and were finally asked to leave, as some people may want to play Scrabble in the common guest area paid for and not be bothered by a noisy party of "friends". As well, the lower patio below the windows played loud rock music throughout the night until about 8 am next day, when someone finally decided to turn off the sound system. Good staff, nice rooms, but really poor and pompous management. Oh, and we did not see the ghost.

We stayed in the Riley Suite. Housekeeping let us see in the 4 other rooms which had emptied that morning. All are nice, but the Riley is incredible. Very comfortable bed. The room was spotless. They provide light breakfast options and some refrigerated beverages as well as coffee, tea, etc. in the common area. We hope to stay again. Other guest praised the Hackett over other downtown hotels.
Many options within walking distance. Food, drinks, theatre. The Galley bar and restaurant on the first floor was incredible!

I’ve stayed here every time I visited my son at Marietta College and I love it. It’s so charming and always clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food at The Galley restaurant there is great! Comfy beds and it is so reasonably priced!

You'd never guess such a fine hotel is in Marietta but if you can handle the two flights of stairs, this the THE place to stay! The Galley restaurant and bar are on the first floor and while the bar is spacious, the outdoor patio is pretty darn nice.
If you like old style but with modern convenience, The Hackett is your kinda place. It has been totally gutted and renovated back to Victorian times but with plenty of hot water. Cost is $100/night during the week and $30 more on weekends.

A friend recommended the place and we stayed two nights over a weekend. The room was very large and well furnished, but the food offerings (coffee, old fruit, boxed cereal) were not up to typical B&B levels. We ate a nearby restaurant. The owner properly described the two long sets of stairs to climb - but omitted that the stair carpeting was aged and the stairs leaned to the left. The owner properly warned about the music from below - it was load until midnight - which might be a problem for others. The views out the windows were not charming.

My wife and I stayed in the Hackett while visiting family in Marietta. The rooms are very charming with classic touches and modern amenities. Although it is situated about the The Adelphia which has live music, the room was quiet. The common room (secured from the restaurant) that is shared by the guest rooms has a small kitchen with snacks, drinks and coffee for guests. We will stay there again.
The bonus, is the jokes you can tell locals about your last stay there under previous ownership.
NOTE: The rooms are on the 3rd floor, and guest must climb ~40 steps to get to the rooms.

My husband and I needed to get away for a night, and decided to go somewhere new, so we picked Marietta. Fortunately, we found one review online for this hotel and ended up making a reservation. This hotel was perfect for our little get-away! The reservation process was easy, and we were met by the manager when we arrived. Check-in is done through the restaurant on the main floor, and the manager was kind enough to give us a tour of this three-story hotel. Since we arrived early and our room was not ready, the manager gave us directions to the local area, his business card, and took my cell number. He called as soon as the room was ready.
The rooms are spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable, and the "living room" area upstairs near the hotel rooms was a nice place if you wanted to relax, watch TV, or grab a snack or drink from the complementary offerings.
We walked around town - everything is close by, then came back for dinner in their restaurant. Drinks and the food were outstanding - the filet mignon was done to absolute perfection. Prices were very reasonable - and even better, we were seated on the side where a live band was playing. Dinner, entertainment, and a wonderful hotel room all under one roof.
I would not hesitate to stay here again, and highly recommend it. Only possible drawback is if someone has trouble with stairs - there are two steep flights to get up to the rooms. Not a problem for us, but could be an issue for others.

Might have come from all the cum of the men coming and going up and down those stairs.
Hi Barbara! Yes, there are 31 stairs. The only access to the third floor of the building, where the hotel rooms are, is the long staircase.
To date we have not had any complaints of a musty smell. We have a housekeeping team that cleans daily.
I hope we answered your questions!
