Detailed Reviews
We spent one night in this beautifully located cottage, close to Mt Field National Park. The grounds that the cottage are located in, are just stunning, set amongst rolling hills in a very picturesque rural location. The host was very welcoming and the cottage- cosy and comfortable, perfectly suiting the country ambience. The cottage has everything you need to cook an evening meal and have a decent coffee in the morning. The little local extras were a treat too. The gardens of the property are really the star of this accommodation, with beautifully landscaped garden rooms with quirky and unique sculptures recycled from old bits of machinery. Sitting out on the verandah, looking at the night settle in and hearing the cockatoos was just one of the nicest experiences we had in Tasmania. It was better than any 5 star hotel!

The location of this exceptional property is well signposted both on the highway and along the lane.
The one bedroom cottage is absolutely charming and totally private. The space is well divided and allows a couple to stretch out after a day walking at Mt Field National Park or travelling to start the next day there before the tourist buses arrive. The garden is stunning and a stroll around the grounds will have you green with envy. This is a working farm and a request for a breakfast package resulted in home made raspberry jam, eggs, bread and butter.
The room has a great little kitchen with a bbq on the balcony so bring all the produce you've collected on the road and dine on the balcony overlooking the grounds. Westerway closes when the tourists leave the national park so self catering is a must.
The bed is so comfortable and the quiet of the cottage is perfect with great views from all the windows. The ensuite is spacious and well fitted. There is a laundry in a shed next to the cottage.

This place was recommended to us & we were not disappointed. We stayed 2 nights in the Ranger's Cottage & would have loved to stay longer. Really friendly hosts, very clean, very comfortable in any weather, great view & everything you need plus extras.
We just loved it and hope to revisit on another trip to Tassie.

As soon as you drive into the driveway the gardens are breathtaking and then you arrive at your cute little cottage
It’s just simply beautiful, quaint and peaceful. Everything is here, had the best sleep I’ve had in ages and the host is so friendly

I spent one night in Berryfleld's cabin here while cycle touring and it was really very good indeed. The cabin is a studio, which is furnished very nicely and had everything I could have wanted - including a nice covered porch with a relaxing country view. Furniture was all in excellent condition (looked pretty new) and kitchenette with kitchenware was spot on. Complimentary decanter of port and a couple of chocolates was a very nice touch.
Breakfast was relatively simple - muesli, milk, two eggs (that I could cook as I pleased) and 4 slices of bread with jam etc - but perfectly fine. No yogurt or fruit, but I am sure I could have had some if I had asked.
As others have commented, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. I left my phone charger there and Annette jumped in her car and tried to catch me up to give it back! She couldn't find it, so posted it to me very soon after - couldn't ask for more...
I would thoroughly recommend staying here, with no hesitation whatsoever, if you would like a self-contained place to stay while in the area.

Our American family of four spent four days at Duffy's over the holidays. It's a delightful place. Annette was wonderful and helpful. What a genuine lady! Her entire family has lived in the valley for generations, and she and husband Desmond take a very quiet, understated, Tasmanian pride in their area and their roots in it. The cabins border farmland on all sides, a stone's throw from the Tyenna river. The area is full of wallabies, pademelons, brush-tailed possums, platypuses, owls, echidnas, ring-tailed possums, even the occasional sugar glider. Mount Field National Park is close by, with its spectacular tarn hike (go prepared: the weather can change in a second, even in summer), pandanis, pencil pines, and snow gums. The cabin itself was warm, scrupulously clean, modern, and beautiful. Our sons stayed in the small but functional "accessory cabin" steps away. It's a great place to stay, made special and unforgettable by Annette and Desmond.

Comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. Sit on the veranda and admire the view with the distance mountains and enjoy the peace. Ideal for visiting Mount Field National Park. Wood burner very cosy on a cold evening.

There are 2 cottages available (one cabin, one cottage), we stayed in the cottage which was great. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable with a lovely woodburner. Really great people who were very friendly and keen to make sure we had all we needed. We also had access to the delicious raspberrys grown on the farm. Really nice place and in perfect location for easy access to Mt Field National Park

Calming, is how I would describe it,
Beautiful gardens, with lovely bird (and farm animal) noises, great bed/pillows, a new Daikan AC, very well appointed.
My only disappointment, was that we only booked one night, would love to go back and spend a few there, doing not much.

Comfy bed, picture postcard setting, well appointed, port, coffee pod machine, great view, laundry facilities, will have to return for a longer stay
