The Russ Hill Hotel is based in a 19th century manor house and set in nine acres of countryside within the charming village of Charlwood. This Gatwick hotel offers great value, comfortable accommodation and is conveniently placed just 4 miles from Gatwick Airport making it the perfect stopover either before or after flying. Transfers are by taxi with special rates in place.
.......as about 95% of people will be using this place as a 1 night stay before a flight the next morning, it serves that purpose adequately.
True, it's all very tired and a bit shabby, but for somewhere to get your head down for the...More
I'm so glad I didn't listen to all the negative reviews. From arrival everything went just perfect. Plenty of car parking spaces, taxis to and from Gatwick were prompt. Our room was basic but comfortable and clean all we needed for a quick overnight stay....More
This is a very cheap, very big, run down hotel that offers small, clean rooms for a bargain price close to Gatwick with free parking. Yes it’s tired and is in need of an upgrade but in a way that’s part of the charm. The...More
Have happily stayed here on many occasions. However this time no window and too hot to sleep. We always enjoy our pre flight stay so will come again but book a room with a window. Food good staff great x
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Don’t do it!
Cracking skylight right above our bed so we could see and hear every plane going over..
Very poor standard indeed. The only good point is good value parking.

Our room was clean and basic. We saw no bugs or vermin. I really enjoyed our sleepover before flying out. Staff, bar and buffet were fine considering everything must be run on a tight budget, because we didn’t pay much. We will happily stay there again when flying out early in the morning. I’m mystified by some of the comments. It’s budget, if you don’t want budget don’t go there. If you do stay there it will help if you’re already in holiday mood though. I would only recommend it for bed and parking before a holiday though.
