The park facilities are good but the accommodation needs a deep clean. When we arrived the bathrooms were dirty, scum around the bath and hairs everywhere. The mattresses were filthy, covered in stains. Sticky brown stuff in the kitchen draws, mouldy food in the bin, utensils either dirty or rusty. Stains on the seating. No footpaths and no parking at a lot of the accommodation means cars are parked everywhere and people walking in the road. Accident waiting to happen!! We left a day early and won’t be returning

Absolutely disgusting static caravan! We stayed here for an Easter break in one of the ‘Bronze’ caravans and have been so disappointed with the state of it. We arrived early and watched as the cleaners entered and left within 5 mins, the whole place was covered in hairs and black mould, including children’s mattresses. The shower was grimy, again, full of black built up mould. The wallpaper was hanging off, there were multiple dark stains and marks all over the soft furnishings. Beds are extremely uncomfortable and each bedroom has extreme condensation through the night which drips down the walls onto bedding. I don’t think the carpets have ever been vacuumed, the cleaners certainly weren’t equipped with one when we saw them attend our caravan. The swimming pool is green. The manager Sarah Trunks has responded to my complaint and said that because reception weren’t told at the start of the holiday about these issues they are unwilling to rectify or refund. (Haven requests that beds are stripped on vacation of the property so mattress mould was only apparent at checkout) Appalling service and grotesque facilities. ABSOLUTELY AVOID HAVEN DONIFORD. £379 wasted on a total hovel

We normally love coming to Doniford bay and it was our favourite Haven park, sadly it’s not for us anymore. We went to our van 20mins after our latest check in time to find it not ready, went to reception and asked them how long it would be as kids were getting hungry, they sent someone to check it and then put the tape across to say it was done. First impressions the bronze 2 bed van we had booked looked lovely, but the moment we walked into the main bedroom we could smell vomit. One of our party has emetaphobia so there was no way we could stay in that van. I asked reception if they could change us and they said they were fully booked, but they would send someone down to spray. That was not going to fix the issue, it needed a deep clean and airing as the smell Someone had cleared missed the toilet and it hadn’t been properly cleaned. By this point my daughter was crying, so I went back to reception and suggested a refund or if they had any space at burnham on sea. They said we had two options, to downgrade to a saver van or pay 150 which was a discounted rate for an upgraded van. We could not afford another £150 so our hands were tied to the downgrade. I asked for a refund for the difference but was advised no can do as it was a three bed saver so the same cost as the two bed bronze we booked. I didn’t want a three bed! And I didn’t want the saver van so am very disappointed in this situation. The saver van was freezing with no central heating or double glazing. We were offered another duvet but that didn’t really help. My daughter had just got over croup So really not ideal. Haven should really save some Vans back for situations like this rather than book right up For greed. What if the van was leaking water or something and someone couldn’t stay in it? Would there only option be to pay £150 For the last remaining caravan or go home?Don’t get me wrong the staff were very friendly but when you have spent £350 on a three night holiday you really expect better service. On the Saturday night the owners lounge right next to the caravan had a party so our kids couldn’t get to sleep. We also had a lovely view of a digger next to our van. We were so disappointed and uncomfortable with the van that we actually left a night early. We will not be returning to Doniford and feel I have wasted £350, wish we had stayed at home!

Easter break stay at Doniford, we booked a saver caravan for our weekend visit. Although it was nice and cheap, upon arrive we was horrified with the cleanness bearing in mind it had just been cleaned. Pictures attached. Left an unclean, uncomfortable feeling when in the living area. I had also pre ordered and paid for a bed guard for my toddler, which wasn’t in the caravan on arrival, I had called reception and was told it would be delivered within an hour, I’ve checked out this morning and it still hasn’t been delivered, full refund requested. Very uncomfortable stay for a pregnant lady having to share a single with her toddler. Love our Haven holidays, however we will not be returning to this site.

Last minute booking and first time visiting this Haven site...definitely hope to come back. Saver caravan spotless, comfy beds and everything in good working order. Lovely to see the sea. What really made our holiday was the entertainment. Loads going on and delivered by enthusiastic and fun staff who really made a fuss of my 5yr old niece. We will all sleep for a week when we get home. Thanks ever so much.

This was the second time we have been to Haven Doniford Bay site. Having booked 2 caravans under the same name it was disappointing to find we were in completely different locations to each other. In addition the one caravan (10 Harbour Watch) is 2nd row of caravans with no easy access for parking next to the van. Given how wet the ground was it was way too risky to drive over the grass to park next to the van. More paths for walking between the rows of vans would be beneficial. We had breakfast in the cafe on our final morning, the toast arrived semi warm BUT no butter, by the time it arrived the toast was cold! The TV remote batteries packed up early evening, went to reception to report this, was advised someone would bring some. Never happened! What was the point of reporting it? Generally a good stay but definite room for improvement!

The park is in a lovely location right on the coast, with access to a rocky beach. Our caravan was on The Mariners overlooking the sea and we found it clean and tidy. We used most of the facilities on site, the restaurant, chip shop, clubhouse and pool, the outside bar wasn’t open.. probably a bit early in the year for it. Our children loved the jump tower activity which we prebooked. All in all a great weekend and we will definitely return.

As always we delighted to return to one of our favourite sites and I think this was our 10th visit! We had chosen out favourite caravan which is easy to do on the website and so we arrived at our home for a week over looking the Bristol Channel. A lovely warm welcome on the arrival gate with all the info we needed on the Haven App. Clean and fresh with great comfy sofas and an ever changing view that would calm anybody. Everything we need was provided in the caravan and the hearing was very fast to warm us up in the evening. This is a good site if you want a quiet stay or need to keep the kids amused too much. The beach was a few steps away from our door with a well stocked shop on site and restaurant and chip shop. We could get a good 4G signal with was good but beware you may end up picking up BBC wales instead of West Country news in the tv ! Doniford Bay is located not far from Minehead and all the big supermarkets and the West Somerset Railway. We love this site and in fact already booked my return trip as it’s quite simply our happy place !

My first caravan holiday. Children, partner and 3,5 and 1,5 yrs. Caravan- booked a silver one, clean and spacious. Was worried after reading other reviews but our one was really clean. Only tip I would give is to bring wipes, toilet & kitchens paper and lots of towels. Wish we would have brought a frying pan as the one in the caravan was too worn out. All and all really happy with the caravan. Kids loved the tots disco and the entertainment activities, outdoors ones was not possible but not anyone’s fault cause of bad weather. Swimming pool not clean enough for me and cold but 3 yrs loved the slide. You have to book and can only stay for limited time, they should make that much clearer on the website. Restaurant food absolutely fine, standard, eat there 3 times. You can also eat at the Doniford park farm next door or go into Watchet ( but check when pubs serve food, as not all day). Soft play unsupervised and not clean, go to the soft play barn area at Doniford park farm ( literally next door to the park) really clean and much more suitable for smaller children. We only paid £7 for 4. Also worth buying animal feed (50p) and visit the animals, definitely one of the highlights. Personally don’t think arcades should be available to children as it was dark like an adult casino, and no natural light. When it was raining the haven sent us a text they were showing Encanto in the hall which I thought was such a nice touch. Very dog friendly. Yes I would go again but make sure this time it was nice weather and book activities on the app in advance. Hopefully then could use outdoor pool. Make sure you do shopping in advance ( big shop 18 miles away).
