I have previously stayed at this hotel which was a pleasant experience. Having booked a stay for 10 nights this time. Wish I hadn’t bothered. Expected that the room would be cleaned at least once/twice but due to covid this wasn’t cleaned at all. Had to ask daily for clean towels, toilet paper and coffee. None of my dirty towels were taken and rubbish was just left to fester in the room. I spoke to numerous staff on site and nothing has happened or any answers to my issues raised. They just said they would hand it over and put a note on the system. Hotel looked grubby, unclean and smelly. Just the right environment when we have a global pandemic about…

The hotel is clean. There is ample parking but it feels a bit insecure and unsafe. If you need a good nights sleep ask for a top floor room as the floorboards are very noisy. Do not eat at the Brewers Fayre attached restaurant. Our experience was the food was really poor and slow to arrive. In terms of COVID-19 care: You had to queue at the bar to order, waiting 10-15 minutes, with no social distancing and no masks being worn by almost everyone. Scampi and chips was dry, over cooked and over priced.

Our room was left dirty when we arrived, food bits left all over the table, the shower looked like it had only been wiped over, the receptionist cleaned it for us, and the room had only a small window, in an annexe bit, so hardly any light in there, there was a family room above ours and it sounded like the children were jumping off the beds onto the floor, at all hours of the night and very early morning, so we didn't get much sleep, we had to move rooms. Our room was for a disabled person or couple, and in my opinion, was the worst room that we have stayed in at any of the Premier Inns.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn Blackburn South (M65, J4) hotel
Responded 3 days ago
Hi Lesley, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you were left disappointed by the cleanliness standards in your room on arrival and the noise from other guests. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and teams has always been incredibly important to us and everyone in our hotels should rightly expect a safe, clean and protected environment. The Coronavirus crisis has brought this into sharp focus, which is why we have launched a new rigorous, daily cleaning regime across all our hotels. We apologise you found your room to not be up to the high standard we would expect. We have ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with our Housekeeping teams to prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, Tayler

Honestly premier inn is my go too basic hotel. The beds are always crazy comfy. You know what you are getting and they are clean. This premier inn was exactly as expected. Loved our stay. Considering the hotel was fully booked with a wedding party and most likely restricted rocks festival guests staying it was very quite. Had a belting nights sleep. Staff were friendly.

We’ve been at this hotel to visit my daughter who has recently moved to the area. Lovely hotel and the staff are extremely helpful, they can’t do enough for you. Highly recommended, rooms are very clean and well serviced. We pre paid for breakfast which was excellent, plenty of choice for all tastes.
