Just had a lovely couple of days at this lovely venue with my best friend.. the spa treatment (back, shoulder and neck massage and a facial) was absolutely amazing, the two ladies were lovely and I would definitely recommend this... My only gripe was that the room next door was an office of which we could here the chap constantly talking... Lauren on reception was so lovely and friendly a very pleasant greeting to the hotel.. Our room was lovely, clean and tidy and very comfortable.. The young man in the bar was so lovely and friendly and made us feel relaxed and comfortable.. (Chris I think)? The staff team were just that, “A Team” they all seemed to be friendly and comfortable with each other. I would definitely return. Thankyou Jo

Stayed at a few Mercure hotels over the years and have never had as bad experience as this one. Firstly the room. Great size room, big comfy bed with a large bathroom. BUT the shower had a huge bit of damage to the show tray as well as the paint coming off the ceiling whereby a large bit fell on my head while showering! The door lock was also busted off and the hot water would randomly go ice cold and then boiling hot which wasn’t great. The Spa. There were more things broken than there were working; poop heater, steam room, lighting, showers and after hearing a group of women talking about their terrible treatments it just wasn’t what we’d paid for. When we booked we were also not told that the hotel had scaffolding up on a major part of the hotel buildings. Although we were not charged for parking; usually there is a £10 cost per night which is outrageous! All in all very disappointing and I suggest to anyone looking at this hotel not to stay. All photos attached accompanying my review.

Vjsited as part of business. Unfriendly staff, then an asian in the spa offered me extras for cash! Really shocked by the service in a really majestic building, needs a complete change of staff and management to be attractive hotel given its place close to a motorway
