Having stayed at the site twice now, I can honestly say it's a great site!

Lisa and Walter are excellent hosts! The greeting to the site was great, very welcoming and friendly. Walter walked us to our pitch, which was level and close to the hookup and water. It’s a very well designed site so your pitch will always be near electric and water.

The whole site is very well maintained, Walter even came out and raked the gravel to keep it level.

Everything about it was great! The shower and toilet blocks are superb, the showers are fabulous and really high pressure! - these were kept in very good condition and cleaned often which is very reassuring.

The location of the site is fantastic, lovely walks along the River Ribble in walking distance or a short drive. Further afield we went to Pendle Hill, which was a lovely walk!

We also walked a loop round passing Janet’s Foss, Gordale Scar and Malham Cove, fantastic views!

We will be back again soon and would recommend anyone to come.

We stayed overnight as we'd booked a meal at Northcote. Walter and Lisa are lovely, very communicative pre arrival, very welcoming and helpful on arrival and departure. What Walter doesn't know about the area and local eateries probably isn't worth knowing, he really is a mine of information!
The site is beautifully maintained with spacious pitches and separate parking. The toilet/amenities block is absolutely pristine. Recycling bins are provided and well marked along with general waste disposal.
As we stayed in 'low season' there was an additional charge for electricity which, for our overnight stay, was £5.40. There is also a charge of 20p per minute for the showers. Not sure what laundry costs are as we didn't use those facilities.
We would have rated the site 5 but it is undergoing further development.
We really liked this site, it's small but has excellent facilities and a really relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Thank you both for a very pleasant stay, we will be returning.

Thank you for your review . It is great to know that we are doing a good job! Just a little note electric is pay for exactly what you use ,and if in cold weather you are using an electric heater and not gas you can expect it to be more than the average of £2 per night. We look forward to seeing you both soon 😀

Mixed review of this site. Hubby and I had booked for three nights this week but only actually stayed two nights. Our choice, mostly because of the weather conditions.
I can not praise Walter the site owner highly enough. He works so hard maintaining the sites cleanliness and appearance and was really good at giving us information about the local area.
On the downside, and I had read it in other reviews, but could not understand the logistics of it. The showers were a definite no no from us. Although there are two showers in the ladies they are fussy and inconvenient and not private. Unless you want the money you have just put in to start disappearing you are advised to be ready to step in. The trouble is that means standing naked in a shared area that is only big enough for one person and then reaching around a curtain ( the only thing stopping you being visible to a row of toilets facing you! ) to put your money in. You then have to negotiate the bi - fold door and set your temperature. All the while being aware that probs 40p of your money as already gone. After showering you then step back out into same very small square area to dry and dress.
I am not happy to share a space while naked with a complete stranger. All the while wondering if the curtain facing the toilet could get pulled back as well by someone else wanting to shower.
Sorry for the length of that explanation, but I wish I had understood more.
As I say, I know the issue has been raised before. Maybe just have one shower and use the other side as space for the coin machine and a private area. Also have a proper cubicle type door leading to the area.
We have been caravanners for 35 years and I have come across some dodgy set ups. But have always had privacy.
If you are lucky enough to have your own facilities on board your unit then I would highly recommend Northwood.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed the park and thank you for your lovely compliments. Always come and ask us if you have a problem. If you felt incredibly uncomfortable with the showers, you only have to ask and you could have locked the shower and toilet door and had the whole space to yourself for complete privacy. We have over 1000 guests per year use the facilities and 99.9% think that our facilities are fantastic.

Arrived 28 December what a great clean site , Walter greeted us, showed us the pitch we were on connected the waste pipe, then disappeared and came back with a bottle of prosecco to have a drink on him and his wife Lisa. Could not of been any better piece and quite. Italian restaurant was great. would recommend and will definitely wil be going back.

I’ve been caravanning for about 30 years & travelled the length & breadth of the country but never before have I stayed on such an immaculate site.
Each pitch is pebble with a grass surround. Most pitches have a paved path the full length of your van. Lots of space for awnings too although I don’t use one.
Access to some of the pitches can be quite tight and if you don’t have a motor mover (I do) then Walter the owner will get you onto your pitch.
You unload your vehicle & park in a designated parking area nearby.
When I arrived Walter was sweeping any evidence of grass from the paved paths to each pitch. He handed me information on arrival explaining where pubs & supermarkets are for instance.
Easy access to bins, toilet emptying etc.
there were showers, toilets & and laundry on site but as I have my own facilities I didn’t check them out.
Walter and his wife are so helpful.
There is a superb Italian restaurant next door (Tiggi’s) and next to that is the Shajan Indian restaurant and takeaway which I can also recommend.
I will definitely be returning to this fabulous site.

Absolutely fabulous campsite! We have been twice and will definitely be back. I never normally leave reviews but this adult only campsite fully deserves all credit. As others have said in their reviews, Walter and Lisa, the owners are so incredibly friendly and helpful. The site is an absolute credit to their devotion with the grounds, toilets and all services kept immaculate. The only downside to our stay was the typically British rainy weather, despite this, the site benefits from a bus stop outside the side with a great bus service to Whalley and Clitheroe.

The Italian restaurant which is next door to the campsite is the best Italian restaurant we have ever been to. They do a set menu Tues to Sat, 2 courses £18.95, lots of choice and excellent value for money given the size of the portions. Pizzas are amazing. There is also an award winning Indian restaurant next to the Italian although not had chance to try that yet but it was well recommended by a few regulars to the campsite. So many other places to explore from the campsite and will look forward to our next visit.

We have just spent 2 nights at Northwood caravan site. Walter and Lisa couldn’t have been more accommodating, full of information about the area, they sent us a text message with local restaurants and things to do before our arrival day. Walter helped guide my caravan to the correct spot. They both seem very genuine people. The facilities were extremely clean, the site was well presented and over all it was a great stay.

Keep in mind you have to pay for electric and showers on top of the price. I don’t blame them for this with the way electric prices are heading. Only downsides were the communal changing area outside of the individual shower which would be a squeeze with 2 people and they could do with a mirror opposite the site exit to see if traffic is coming each way. Minor points which i hope the owners don’t take personally, they have a fantastic place, if i ever want to visit this area again i wouldn’t look for another site.

Directions on how to find the site were excellent and easy to follow. We were met by Walter who took us to our full service pitch and as others have said, he was so friendly and welcoming. He helped us to position the caravan to its best advantage and even offered to lend us an electric cable when we thought ours wouldn’t be long enough. The site is superbly maintained and the loo/shower block was immaculate, it sparkled. The only slight problem was that the Wi-Fi didn’t always work where we were but did near the loo block but it was provided for free which was a positive. Thank you Walter for making our stay so pleasant.

We booked a long weekend here and stayed on a fully serviced pitch which was very spacious and suited us perfectly. As per previous reviews the owner is extremely helpful and friendly. He gave us loads of useful info! I got the bus into Clitheroe which is 9 miles away. The bus stop is minutes away outside the Italian restaurant, Tiggis. We ate there on a Wednesday night expecting it to be quiet and it was packed so be sure to book! There is also an indian restaurant next door which we didn’t get time to eat in but we did have a takeaway which was lovely! There is a lovely farm shop 4 miles away and lots of decent local pubs too. This site really does have it all! It is spotlessly clean and well organised (but not regimented) and it felt very safe! We can’t wait to return in June!

The biggest let down of this site were the showers and road noise. I cannot understand why there are two showers with a small middle area between them with a curtain across. I would not feel comfortable getting changed knowing that someone else could open the curtain for a shower.
There was also a lack of space to put your clothes while getting a shower and nowhere to put your shampoo or shower gel.
I do feel that having to pay for the showers is a bit extreme too, especially when you’re paying for your metered electricity. However, on the plus side, I have to say that they were immaculately clean.
The road noise was non stop, even through night so if you are a light sleeper, I wouldn’t stay on here.
The pitch was nice and flat and easy access to the electric point and tap but would’ve preferred a drain to pour grey waste down instead of being told just to empty it on the shrubbery.
Not the site for us but not everyone is the same!
