We booked to stay at The Reading Rooms B&B as we were going to an event at Dreamland. We stayed in the Salon which has beautiful floor to ceiling windows.
This Georgian property has been thoughtfully renovated so that the rooms are spacious and comfortable but with minimal decoration allowing you to really appreciate the elegant architecture.
The bathroom was stunning with a large walk in shower, big cast iron bath and plenty of soft towels plus bathrobes and there is a coffee machine, kettle and array of tea bags in the room.
There is an impressive breakfast menu which you pre-order. It is then delivered to your room in a wicker basket, so you can take your time eating at the table and chairs in the window. Not just pastries, but a proper pot of tea and cooked options too!
The Reading Rooms are in a good location, an easy walk form the seafront and old town, but on an attractive square so it is a peaceful retreat. A real treat.

Just returned from two nights in Margate. Our stay was made even more relaxing by the quality avail able here.

A small and private B&B where you can relax and getaway from it all. We stayed in the top floor attic room, with great views over the rooftops of Margate. The room is large and airy with light and beautiful decor. The bathroom can only be described as sumptuous.

As we are just leaving the CV19 lockdown, the owners had thought carefully about providing a social distanced and Covid secure environment. Breakfast carefully delivered in a contact free way, but has lost none of the top notch qualities of the breakfast. Ingredients and cooking were excellent. Plenty of coffee available in the room.

We booked way before the CV19 lockdown, and thanks to the flexibility of Louise, we were able to rebook several times until we got a date when they reopened and we could travel.

Thanks to Louise and Liam, their beautiful house enhanced our short break.

We will most certainly be back, of you are visiting Margate, you should treat yourself. It is worth every penny

Thank you so much for coming to stay with us and for leaving us such a lovely review of your stay. We tried really hard to come up with a COVID secure protocol for The Reading Rooms that combined safety and retained the quality of what we have offered here since 2009. Social distancing is a thing we do! Really glad you found the coffee and tea in the room a good addition. We installed pro Nespresso machines as part of our upgrade of changes. Really glad to have such lovely guests! Best wishes, Louise and Liam

What a joy to stay in this beautiful haven in Margate. The size of the rooms and bathroom are pure indulgence. The breakfast, beautifully served on a butler’s tray - tasteful and thoughtful, down to the cutlery, serving of sauces, jams, salt... a pity my 3-night stay had to come to an end. I can’t compliment the proprietors enough, nor can I recommend the B&B highly enough.

Just returned from a very relaxing two night break at the Reading Rooms. We stayed on the top floor and had a wonderful time. So much has been said already about the breakfast but it really is an incredible experience. Combine that with a comfortable bed, a well equipped bathroom and attentive hosts to get a very, very good B&B.

Loved our stay here - gorgeously decorated and v large room on the top floor, lovely chandeliers, roll top bath, good views, it was a real treat. V convenient location and no parking on site but we found relatively cheap parking in a multi story 5 mins walk away.

Breakfast was amazing - just lovely and a lot of choices and all a bit different. Delivered in a basket to our room, might not have liked this usually if smaller room but we had plenty of space and a table to sit at, so was perfect.

Loved it here - v special.

Salon room is a wonderful space to stay, spotless and attention to detail excellent. Whilst staying under Covid restrictions we felt very safe, precautions had been thought through very well. Breakfast is fabulous. This was recommended to us by friends and we highly recommend staying here.

Thank you so much for coming to stay with us and taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. We really appreciate it. We worked hard to develop our COVID Secure protocols so we could keep everyone as safe as possible. but still provide our full breakfast menu to guests. Our rooms are designed around private dining room service breakfasts and so there's ample room for dining. which we've done since opening in 2009. Very best wishes and thank you again. Louise and Liam.

We had a lovely stay at The Reading Rooms. In a nice part of town overlooking a square, and walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The room was nice and big and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was so delicious, and they offer a great selection. The fresh juice and sourdough bread were particularly good. As we visited in low season it did feel quite expensive for what you get, but it's definitely one of the nicer spaces to stay in Margate. So if you can afford it, this is a fab spot! And the breakfasts made up for it :)

After shielding for 2 years this was the first holiday break we were ready to enjoy. We were nervous but Louise soon put us at ease. We stayed on the top floor in a spacious room with comfotable large bed and fantastic original features. We had a sea view and all the amenities we could hope for. The luxury bathroom with a walk in shower and rolled bath and TWO washbasins were a treat. The breakfasts were as amazing as other reviewers have commented on . A wide selection which was delivered in a whicker basket to our door. ---really quirky but it worked . This made it memorable . The whole experience of our first get away stay was exceptional. Thank you so much Louise

Stunning room with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto lush trees in Hawley Square. Dappled sunlight coming in. Very romantic! The room is light, bright and full of quiet character. Comfortable bed. Huge, beautifully decorated bathroom with a walk in shower, big bath and two sinks. Basically it was sumptuous and just great. The breakfast is brought to your room in a basket - excellent toast, bacon, eggs, fruit, thick hot chocolate but there's loads more to choose from. About 3 minutes walk to the centre of Margate with its galleries, bars and tea shops. Very quiet location.

We had a wonderful weekend getaway at the Reading Rooms. Everything was as advertised, and Louise was the perfect combination of great hostess but also allowing us our own time and privacy. The Salon bedroom was well designed with excellent finishings (the cast iron tub in the bathroom was amazing, as was the shower), and the breakfast also an excellent experience (we expected this based on our research and read of the glowing reviews, and it did not disappoint). We would happily return if we were to visit Margate again. Thank you for a fantastic time, Louise.
