Detailed Reviews
My partner and I decided to eat after we were won over by the look of the front of the pub, beautiful flowers and a fantastic location in the high street.
As it was getting late we sat inside, the pub is nice and clean, the bar staff were very friendly and what can I say about the food! For the price of the meals both the quality and quantity were value for money.
Would highly recommend a visit if your in the area

My husband and I stayed here for one night in July en route to Bournemouth! Room had a shower, tv and was clean and the breakfast was excellent, wide choice. The Mailmans is positioned perfectly right in the middle of town. Wi-fi abailable which in this day and age is required. Staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, would definitely stay again.

Stayed here one night last week on our way from Devon to Sussex. Prices for bed and breakfast in Lyndhurst seem to be quite high compared to other places, we paid £75 but have had much better elsewhere for the same price. The bar staff were very nice but the room, although very clean, had a manly/musty smell from the duvet and pillows which need to be washed or replaced. The decor wasn't great (no headboard, spare bits of blind stuck round the corner). Booked this through booking.com which said there was wifi throughout the hotel - There is NO wifi except from the hotel next door. The breakfast was lovely though.

During this coronavirus they are offering takeaway meals delivered to your door and as in isolation was absolutely thrilled to have n Easter great of a roast dinner. The service was great and food lovely the portions were large everything was really tasty. I do thank you all for giving me a day to remember first time in years I haven't had to cook!

We were told by one of the waitresses that the food was really good. On her recommendation we ate there, and oh my goodness she wasn’t wrong! The onion bhaji burger was out of this world! If I lived closer I’d be back in a heartbeat.! My husband had three dishes from the small plates menu which he said were delicious too!

I cannot fault them! Lou and Tony are superb. Very attentive. We have revisited during the lockdown period and it feels very safe. We booked one of their outdoor pods and they are incredibly cosy. Not to mention the food is always a winner! Also the carvery is one not to be missed. The best carvery around!
Cannot recommend them enough!

Lou and Tony are very friendly hosts. The prices are very fair and the meals have always been very tasty and very well presented. The locals are friendly and the atmosphere is always welcoming. There is a good selection of Ales, Lagers and spirits. I would strongly recommend a visit, especially for the Sunday Roasts.

I have never been to such a awful place in my life the food was slow coming out and when it did finally came out things were wrong. we were served by a waitress that had a face like a bag of spanners and a personality to match. I was unable to tell the difference between the four different meats with my mixed grill we were rushed while we were eating it, some of us had finished and the others hadn't and they were trying to clear our table away VERY RUDE and to top it all off when they finally gave us our puddings after a cock up in the bar ordering it they told us we had ten minutes because they wanted the table, so to anyone reading this don't waste your time or money its rubbish.

I have been here twice for a carvery and each time the food is outstanding!!! It is hot, fresh and a great selection of veg! It is great value for money!
You also get a free slice of cake with a hot drink.
The staff were very friendly both times.
Highly recommend

My family ate here on Sunday 20th October. We all had the carvery which was phenomenal. The choice of meats and vegetables is vast.. I particularly enjoyed the honey roasted parsnips and the green beans with bacon. There were even pigs in blankets (sausage wrapped in bacon) and stuffing balls.
The value for money is amazing. It was only £7.95 for us adults and our 7 year old daughter ate for free! The staff were also extremely friendly and polite. The pub itself has a real homely feel.
We will definitely be returning. Next week in fact! :)
