I have never been disappointed at the Peat Spade, and my latest visit confirmed that they are as good as ever. The classic fish pie was very good and the beer selection remains inspired (it doesn’t have to be extensive). The service is impeccable and the ambience immensely civilised. It is not the cheapest pub meal you’ll get, but hey......

A delightful pub restaurant with an extremely friendly waiting team. We had homemade venison and black pudding scotch egg and crispy fried squid to start. Main courses were house fish pie (yum, yum!!!) and monkfish wrapped in pancetta (also yum, yum!!). All washed down with a very respectable Pinot Noir from southern France. We'll be back! They haverooms but we were thetejust for lunch

We were a party of eight and were seated outside in this circular structure, fortunately, although not spacious, it had a heater which kept us from getting cold on last nights chilly evening. I ordered the burger and chips priced at £15 so was expecting something special however it failed to live up to expectations. It was small, dry and tasteless and the bacon and cheese on top were merely ok. The skinny chips were no better than McDonalds and fat chips were an optional extra. There was no pickles or relish of any kind so most dissatisfied. It was a birthday celebration meal and we were having fun so I didn't want to complain and spoil the atmosphere. Go to Zizi's if you want a juicy tasty burger.
