The Holiday Inn Southampton Eastleigh captivates guests with its recently refurbished spaces, which include comfortable beds and exquisite bathrooms that contribute to a delightful atmosphere. Many travelers commend the hotel's spotless cleanliness across rooms and communal areas, and families particularly appreciate the child-friendly rooms and amenities. While opinions on value are varied, the close proximity to attractions like Paultons Park and Eastleigh Airport, alongside the commendable service, make it a practical choice for many. However, some guests suggest there's room for improvement in breakfast service and front desk efficiency.

We've stayed here twice now. Both times for a family break and both times we've been as happy and pleased as we were first time around.

The manager is really attentive to you and personally can't do enough for you to make sure your stay is comfortable and a happy one.

The hotel itself is lovely, really modern and the design is gorgeous. Rooms are always clean and comfortable.

A little noise and whirring at night with the plumbing but didn't wake us or disturb us once we were all asleep. Beds are really comfortable too.

Food was awesome, very tasty and cooked so well. Maybe a little pricey but we didn't mind paying that as it was worth it but for families, which there was a lot of. It's a little high I'd say!

Personally, a huge fan of the separate room for the little ones to play in, very lovely. Laid out well & a great selection of toys. My daughter absolutely loved it!

Thanks for another great stay, highly recommend & hope to stay again in the future :)

Excellent hotel when visiting Paultons Park. We stayed as part of a short-break and found the location excellent. It's approximately 9 miles from the theme park, the rooms are clean and well maintained. The pool you have to prebook you slot but you can use the room towels if not bringing your own (you have one hour slot) which is more than adequate. Kids eat free on the evening menu if with an adult choosing their meal. Service and staff excellent. Will I return again - YES !!!

We stayed here for Peppa Pig World (Poultons Park).
The hotel is clean throughout which is great. The hotel has a kids room which was ideal for my toddler and I think the Cookies and Milk deal they do for Poulton Park holidays is just a cute touch for the kids. The pool was easy to book, never too full and ideal size for kids. Its nice there is a small Spa area too for adults.
Dinner at the hotel suprised us it was actually quite nice and we had a night where we ordered room service but could walk to the bar and collect it for free which was nice! The breakfast was the only thing that let the hotel down slightly. The food was quite dry and flavourless, very little choice too it did let the hotel down a bit.
However, the staff were all nice and helpful. The room was small given it was for 3 people but the beds comfy, the water was hot and the room was very clean. Overall we would use this hotel again and for anyone travelling to Poultons Park its a quick journey so great location to stay for that.

Went on family trip to explore Peppa Pig World & Longleat and found this hotel to be one of the closest to where we needed to be.
We ate in the hotel restaurant the first night, as we were all knackered and I must admit, while the food was good, some things were slow or not brought out according to the menu which was annoying.
I was in an accessible room, which was lovely, although the bed was a bit high to get into, but very comfy and the shower was one of those amazing wet rooms you do not want to leave, so comfortable!
During the stay, we noticed that a few times that housekeeping wasn’t always on the ball, for instance I had a full bin in room and wasn’t always emptied or sheets weren’t changed when obv needed it.

The best bits about this stay were the Kidz Inn, the amazing play room they have for little ones, which my LO availed of from after breakfast to before bedtime, as she adored meeting all the new faces and I was very impressed by this and feel it should be in ALL Holiday Inn’s, as entertaining children is one of the trickiest parts to any holiday and the pool facilities, as having a swimming pool with a walk in pool, instead of a ladder is much more inclusive.

The staff at this hotel go out of their way, from check in to check out and we’re amazingly helpful to me and my family, beyond it just being a job which was nice to see.

Hotel was booked as a package through Paultons park (Peppa pig world)

This hotel was in a great location 15 mins from the park and we as a family loved it apart from the booking of the breakfast.

Picking a time slot with 2 toddlers was difficult as i couldn’t predict when they would wake up the following day. Next morning after a restless night with a 2&3 year old we were 30mins late we had to rush down, however 1 child was still asleep. we got seated which was great without any fuss but unfortunately my son and the other child weren’t seated so easily when they came at 9am. They were told by the hotel manager Matt they had missed their slot and would need to wait til 9:45 for a slot in the main restaurant or to eat in the quiet zone. My son chose the quiet zone but with a child this resulted in 2 elderly people moaning and walking out and I don’t blame them !

The reason for my frustration is that they had plenty tables available to cater for 1 adult and 1 child. My honest opinion is that the hotel manager was being difficult. We decided to eat in the restaurant that night. We checked the availability and told 30mins wait which was absolutely fine. However a number tables lay empty again !

I can’t understand the hotels logic behind the booking of tables for breakfast and waiting for tables when there is clearly tables vacant.

A little vacation for with my grandkids and having to schedule eating is not for us.

Dear Nells99, I was pleased to learn you enjoyed your stay but sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the booking system. The hotel can be extremely busy particularly at weekends, so we operate a booking system to ensure all guests can have an enjoyable experience when dining. Whilst there may be empty tables, they would have been reserved for guests arriving within the next 15 minutes. At dinner we would have empty tables as we cannot seat everyone at the same time, orders need to be staggered so guests receive their meals in a timely manner. I am sorry it you felt the Restaurant Manager was being difficult, please be assured he was just trying to manage the situation to ensure he could honour everyone's bookings. I do hope you will give the hotel another chance on a future occasion. Kind regards Jane Standing General Manager

Not the greatest of experiences unlike our various holiday inn stays previously.
We stayed one night as part of our Paultons Park package, and we probably wouldn't use this hotel again for the same deal. It's 20 minute drive from paultons, and the drive wasn't really worth it.
We arrived to our room to what can only described as "poo" flicked all over the ceiling and walls, the house keeping did come to clean it off, but absolutely disgusting first Impression. Also the single bed for our daughter was a pull out sofa, not the comfiest either, pillows very hard so uncomfortable sleep.
The plus - the kids playroom. Whilst I got our little boy to sleep in cot provided, my wife took our daughter down to play for a couple of hours. However, had to go to reception to ask for the room to be cleaned as some kids/parents had ignored signs for no eating and drinking so there was grated cheese scattered around (my daughter has epi-pen for milk allergy) so not great and couldn't use until cleaned.
The plus - breakfast included and I have to say selection of food, temperature and quality of food was all brilliant. Loads to chose from so definitely stopped me giving a lower score review.
Compared to the premier inn, on paultons park door step we paid separately for the night previous, this hotel doesn't stand up against it. Premier inn knocks spot off it. We didn't feel like we fitted in as a family around the "business types" which clearly use this hotel. Sad really as it was part of the package for a theme park catered more to children.

Dear Anorm18, I was sorry to learn you didn't have the greatest experience during your recent stay. This was disappointing to learn as we strive to ensure all guests have an enjoyable and memorable stay, I am sorry we fell short on this occasion. I have spoken at length with my Head Housekeeper and understand that the marks on the ceiling were chocolate which should have been noticed when the room was checked. I can only apologise for this poor first impression. Our family rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. All beds were purchased in 2022 as part of the hotel refurbishment so I was sorry to learn you found the bed to be uncomfortable. The Kids Play room is checked and cleaned on a regular basis, it is a shame that some parents ignore the signage. The hotel is very much geared up to cater for the family market but as with all hotels we cater for business guests and other leisure guests. I was sorry to hear you would not return and I do hope you will reconsider to give the hotel another chance. Kind regards Jane Standing General Manager

Good hotel for a family of 4 visiting Paultons Park. Playroom kept children entertained for a short while but could be updated with a few more activities / games as it did appear pretty bare. Breakfast was good but could have been better, we have stayed at similar chains where pancakes, muffins and waffles are available - here it was pretty basic croissants or hot breakfast and toast. Dinner menu in the hotel restaurant was varied and service was quick. A good hotel for what we needed. HOWEVER.. people should be aware that if they are unfortunate enough to leave an item in the hotel room and check out, it will never be seen again. We sadly left my 4 y/o son’s teddy bear comforter in the room which was a gift when he was born. Several phone calls and emails to staff including management and nobody to this day has been able to find the item we left behind. I can only assume it was found by the cleaners and thrown away, or picked up by the next guest. It was left in the single put up bed and as it holds great sentimental value it cannot simply be replaced. 3/5 stars.

Dear Samantha, Thank you for taking the time and trouble to review your recent stay with us. Guest feedback is extremely important to us as it allows us to review the facilities and services that we offer. The Play room is currently being decorated and refreshed, this is something we do every January but thank you for your suggestions. We offer pancakes at breakfast and a full hot and cold buffet including a wide range of cereals, croissants, pain au chocolat, pain au raisin and cold meats, yogurts and fresh fruit. We have 9 hot items on the hot buffet. I was so sorry to hear we were unable to find your son's teddy bear comforter. I can understand how disappointed you must be due to the sentimental value. I have since spoken to the Head Housekeeper who has assured me they did a thorough check of the bedroom and all other areas in the department but it could not be found. The staff are trained to hand any items left in the rooms to the Housekeeping Supervisor who then logs them in lost property and they are kept for 3 months. I do hope you would give the hotel another chance on a future visit to the area. Kind regards Jane Standing General Manager

We decided to stay here as a young family, because the website says its family focused and accommodating. I requested interconnecting rooms on booking as we have a 3 month old and 3 year old.

Check in:
Very busy, people everywhere, service slow and not informative. No explanation for dinner or facilities and no kids activity pack for my 3 Yr old
Was told we didn't have interconnected rooms and I then had to explain and get our rooms changed
The rooms we then got had a broken door handle on the interconnected room, so when our 3 Yr old was playing, he then managed to lock us out of one of the rooms at 5am on the Sunday morning
All our supplies, car key, medication etc was in the room we couldn't get in
Took the hotel 4hours to resolve this which was stressful especially at that time with a young baby
Apparently the night staff hadn't passed on a message and then the day staff weren't exactly prioritising it, which was disappointing
The restaurant is very expensive and the food is low quality. Some staff very friendly, others not so much.
Breakfast good selection, best part of stay, staff attentive and helpful
The kids playroom is very tired, dirty and broken toys everywhere, so we didn't let our 3 Yr old play in there after night 1..it definitely doesn't look like pictures on website anymore
Housekeeping did a mediocre job..my baby had an accident and sheet wasn't changed, some parts of the bathroom still dirty
The hotel refurb seems to only be a part measure in the bedrooms and bathrooms, still mouldy bath handles left on bath and dirty non working extractor fans
Wall in our bedroom was all cracked and peeling
On checkout Dannii on reception had attitude and wasn't listening when she charged us for parking twice, and seemed incompetent, just like the check in experience. A drink was added to our room by someone else. How this can happen I don't know so check out was 5x longer than it should have been, while our baby is crying and 3yr old restless
We also had a key cut for our room, during our stay. The man on reception didn't ask our name or anything and just provided the key, which was quite alarming
This hotel clearly has potential but our stay was unsatisfactory for sure
Wouldn't return or recommend, especially for families

I was off to Portsmouth for a cruise ship visit (for work) and I found this hotel was actually a lot cheaper to stay at in Southampton, than Portsmouth. It was only a 20-25 min drive into Portsmouth so perfect location for cruisers.

One thing I hate about UK hotels is there is never enough parking spaces - but luckily, although the car park seemed busy we was able to find a space for the night! Overnight parking cost £5

On arrival, we was greeted warmly by Junior, who was very thorough and he gave my daugher a VIP card which allowed her to get some milk and cookies for free that evening from the bar which was lovely. As a IHG member I was also offered free late check out until 2pm which was perfect and a great benefit.

He kindly told us that the indoor swimming pool was open until 7pm. Pool was nice, clean and a great additional for the nights stay. My daughter also loved the "Kids Inn" which is like an indoor play area for young children.

Room was fine, not big not small, perfect for one night and the TV worked. Shower was lovely, and pillows and bed was very comfortable. We were unsure if our AC worked though - if it did, it wasn't very good.

Evening meal was reasonable and alright. Breakfast was better and I would recommend adding it on. Will defo come back to stay if needed.

We were staying for a family trip to Peppa pig world, we chose the hotel because it had parking (£5 a night) although getting a space later in the evening can be a challenge, air conditioning, a kids zone and the pool, we stayed for 2 nights.

The room was very good, with a chair that turned into a proper bed for the child. Modern decor, very clean, shower pressure was a bit low but otherwise it was good

The food however was not good. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night, the lasagne was either a ready meal or just made of very cheap ingredients, the club sandwich was ok but egg does not belong on a club sandwich lol. We then tried breakfast the next morning and again the ingredients were very cheap and the hash browns were not hash browns but the cheapest nastiest tasting potato slices. I don't mind cheap food if I'm paying cheap prices but the prices aren't cheap. The breakfast was far below the standard of Premier Inn or Wetherspoons.

We gave the food a miss in the second day

The pool was very good and easy to book, kids floats & pool noodles are allowed

The kids zone was entertaining enough with an Xbox for older kids linked to the Holiday inn account so a good range of games. There were books, a brio train set and some soft toys for younger kids

The hotel also has a Starbucks coffee machine behind the bar which is handy.
