I booked this hotel to relax in a beach front after a stressful week also as a birthday treat for two of my friends. I must say it was the best choice Fiona helped me to book the room over the phone and I requested her to make it special with a bottle of Prosecco and some goodies so we book this nicely decorated beautiful room with jacuzzi which gave the room that ultimate relaxing experience which added a luxury to my treat. On arrival the check in went very smooth and Lorenza gave us a warm welcome and walked us through to the room OMG the room was decorated with Birthday banners and a nice laminated Birthday wishes with their names on it and a the bottle of Prosecco strawberries with chocolates decorated on black plate added a really good atmosphere for the Birthday treat the girls were surprised with treats. A big thank you to Lorenzo who went over and beyond to arrange all these for me and for making my friends feel special. The room was very clean and spacious with nice decor and the huge balcony with seating overlooking the pear gave us that relaxing feeling. The dinner at the Greek restaurant was amazing and the breakfast was nothing to fault. The staff at reception was very helpful and very attentive nothing was too much for them. Once again Lorenzo thank you so much for taking the time to make my surprise birthday treat a success .we will definitely return to your hotel .

A 5star Establishment. The BEST hotel to stay in the whole of Clacton, i will never stay anywhere else but this hotel after visiting and staying for 3 nights. when i come to visit Clacton On Sea this is the place i will stay and to stay. I stayed in two different rooms One was the Empress Jacuzzi Suite one of the best hotel rooms i have ever stayed in, very spacious had a huge hot tub within the room, a lovely balcony looking over the sea, just amazing and the other room had a double balcony with a double bed and a huge room with a Jacuzzi bath. Amazing prices for your stay, The rooms are clean, beautiful interior filled with all amenities you will need. Air con through out, hot tubs, balcony looking over to the sea, nail salon, sun beds, you name it this hotel has everything. Lorenzo the hotel manager is amazing very welcoming, kind and an amazing host for you whilst you stay and nothing is a problem for him to sort out for you, will go above and beyond. The staff in the restaurant are very welcoming also. The hotel has a restaurant attached to it which is Greek and my goodness the food was a 10 out of 10. Full English every morning was divine also, cooked fresh and you can have a tea/coffee or juice even sit outside and look at the sea. All in all a 10 star experience and can not wait it re-visit. Thanks to Lorenzo for making my stay comfortable and welcoming. Recommend all day every day, Exceptional establishment and hotel. Run dont walk to stay at this hotel.

Myself & partner booked into this hotel for a last minute break after a stressful week at work. The welcome was warm, staff polite & friendly, the hotel reception decor BEAUTIFUL. We were lucky enough to book a jacuzzi suite and it was lovely. Worth every penny! The decor was fresh and modern, with the added touches in the room, even better. Bath robes, toiletries including sleep mask, tooth brushes and even ear plugs should you wish to use them aswell as your usual tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bottled water and biscuits for the tea. The jacuzzi - wow! A lovely touch and gave the room that ultimate relaxing experience, especially with the choice of lighting. The floral decorations around the mirror also added a little Mediterranean feel. Room very clean & spacious and the beds are most comfy! Air conditioning was great, especially with the warm weather we have been having this summer. Corner balcony area with seating and coffee table was lovely -particularly the views of the pier and seafront. Staff advised us of the possible noise due to location being above a pub and opposite a nightclub. This wasnt a problem for us and if it were, we had complimentary ear plugs to guarantee a decent nights sleep. It seems like no touch was too much for the staff/owners of this hotel and the only downside for us, was the fact we couldnt book another night as they were fully booked, but we would gladly return to this lovely establishment. The room was well worth the money and price charged for what was on offer was well within reason. If you are looking for a lovely relaxing stay, close to the beach with a lovely team of staff - look no further!! We will gladly book again soon

Me and my wife stayed in one of the Empress Jacuzzi rooms for a little weekend treat. Upon arriving at check-in we were pleasantly greeted and swiftly checked in. We found the room easily and it fully met our expectations, modern clean with a lovely seaview. My wife's only criticism being that it was a little odd that another bathroom window belonging to a separate room opened onto our sun balcony but given the building is historic it's easily overlooked. Being one of the hottest weekends of the year we were incredibly thankful for the air-conditioning in our room and it works well. The area outside the hotel is incredibly vibrant and it remains noisy until around 01:00am. We were fully prepared for a late night and the hotel does provide earplugs should you want to sleep earlier. The in room Jacuzzi is great fun and fairly straightforward in terms of operation. Breakfast at the restaurant was undoubtedly a highlight, the food was superb and cooked to perfection. Overall the stay was damned near perfect I can see why the location wouldn't necessarily be to everyones taste but for those seeking excitement rather than a peaceful break this is definitely a good place.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Booked the bridle suit for me and my husband to be as a surprise for the night of our wedding, rang 2 weeks prior to let them know we would be there till after the wedding which was fine. Arrived at the hotel after the wedding in my wedding dress in the rain for no one to open the door which resulted us having to call a taxi to take us home. The refund was a struggle to get back and they had no remorse over the upset they caused on my wedding day. I have emailed twice with a complaint and no one can be bothered to email back!!

Dear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to write to us. We value each and every review we receive. Yes, even the most negative ones, as long as they are constructive and uplifting. I acknowledge that we are at fault this time and that we should have provided a better service. I appreciate your frustration and disappointment as mentioned when we met up. On the other hand I believe that it is not fair to respond on this terms after all we have done to solve the problem along with our most sincere apologies. In addition, I believe that we have been more than accommodating in offering a complimentary nights stay and a two course meal along with a full refund. Not to mention the unnecessarily harsh title "don't waste your money". Again, I believe it has been unfair of you to use such words, when we are both aware that you have been fully refunded. Also, how can you advise other customers on Tripadvisor not to waste their time and money if you have not stayed with us? We pride ourselves to offer an exceptional customer experience. I know, things sometimes can get a bit upsetting and not go as expected, but our guests can rest assure that we will do our utmost to make sure they are properly looked after and all eventual issues will be addressed and solved in the most efficient and effective way within our possibilities. Also, I replied to your email as soon as I came back into shift after my days off. In conclusion, I would like to thank you once again for the the time you set aside to write this valued review and I genuinely hope to welcome you back at our Hotel. Kindest Regards Lorenzo Front Office Manager

A typical British seaside hotel. Prime location in the centre of Clacton-On-Sea. Warm welcome by staff. Enjoyed dinner and breakfast in hotel restaurant - my fat Greek taverna! Parking is a challenge. Managed to park about a 10 minute walk away.

Very friendly welcoming reception. Well decorated hotel. Great location on the sea front. However en suite loo smells really bad as it’s a poorly maintained macerater unit. Balcony nice but due to building age doors are old and do not close to a good sound reducing degree there for outside noise from the bar below is an issue if you want a quiet stay.

We are pleased that you appreciated our interior design and location as we reserve a lot of time and energy for the maintenance of our hotel, so as to create a pleasant atmosphere and environment.
