The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. My room was great, plenty of space with two easy chairs and table, plenty of storage and most of all a good firm mattress. Tea and coffee tray, with bikkies and free toiletries.

The hotel was a ten minute walk to the main area of Clacton town centre, this was not a bad thing because it was very quiet at night.
