Stayed here for 2 nights 27th-29th December. Staff very friendly and helpful and all covid protocols observed. Room was fairly spacious, clean and tidy with an ensuite shower room which was more than adequate for my needs. The room was also well heated and afforded me with decent views along the main road given the hotel is centrally placed in the town centre. Didn’t opt for breakfast or visited the restaurant so can’t make much comment on food quality but during my stay here there was people calling in for afternoon tea regularly and the restaurant always seemed fairly busy which would suggest the food was of a decent quality. The building oozes character and may need a bit of upgrading in some people opinion but I actually love this sort of place as opposed to the bland chain brand alternatives that are available and on my visit the price was as competitive against these brands for what you got. I’d certainly recommend this place if you’re looking to stay in Felixstowe

In 2019 we had a one night stay in room 219. The room was clean, comfortable bed but tired and in need of decorating. Wall paper peeling away at joints, chips in the wallpaper and paintwork. The bathroom was clean but the shower was useless. I can spit more water than came out of it at full power. It’s a lovely Victoria hotel that appears to be sliding into decay. We read that rooms were being redecorated to decided to stay again in December 2021 but 'upgrade' to a superior room. Other than having a bigger room absolutely nothing has changed, useless shower chips and marks on every wall in the room. All rather tatty and run down. The plus points on the recent visit was that all the staff were very cheerful and helpful except one young lady who spent more time giving excuses why the advertised Mulled Wine was not availble when she could have quickly and easily resolved the problem. A quick word with the person on reception and the issue was resolved, clearly a career in hotel work is not for her. Sorry but its The Premier inn or Brooks next time

Written on behalf of my parents that stayed: From first arrival we were really excited to stay there; a warm welcome at reception and covid measures in place to make me and my husband feel safer. Disability friendly. Communal areas are plenty and very tastefully decorated, with a bit of heritage and class. Parts could definitely do with an upgrade, which is ongoing, but we weren’t expecting 5* luxury. Rooms are definitely a bit dated but perfectly adequate for our needs. Staff were amazing; we had a medical incident in the night with my husband being taken to Ipswich Hospital and the staff could not have done a better job (thank you, sincerely). Other guests were also very pleasant to socialise with. Food was good. Good location in centre of town with ample parking. Will go again. Highly recommended for people visiting the area.

I had the misfortune to have an evening 'meal' here a while back that cost £12 and consisted of... a really tiny portion of vegetable quiche / an equally sparse handful of thin oven chips / a couple of small leaves of lettuce plus a smidgeon of grated carrot. Would have done better going to the local food bank. Staff full of pleases and thankyous and strutting around in noisy stilettos. Awful....
