Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here on the way up and the way back from north QLD. It's off the highway, but you do still hear the occasional truck passing. Ensuite sites are great - just on gravel, but the ensuites are close, clean and have plenty of hot water.
On the way home we used a cabin also as we had extra people. Our cabin was attached to the camp kitchen. I don't think it had been used for a while. Julie made sure it was clean and even found an electric blanket!
It's a quirky place with a train, a plane and the underground bunkers.

We camped at Possum Park in the first week that Queensland was open for Queenslanders. It’s about 20 km out of Miles but worth the drive. We were the only campers, plus a couple of regulars and one other caravan - a quiet start after COVID restrictions easing.
What a lovely peaceful place! Great camping area, good camp kitchen, friendly owners and great price. We were given the Wheelies bathroom being the only campers, so we had our own ensuite😊
The regulars lit a camp fire which was great for the cool night.
There’s a few things to see here- the underground bunkers which previously were weapon stores in the 1940s, the old TAA plane which is being refurbished, old railway carriages ( self catering accomodation), the old railway crossing, lots of bush to walk through on dirt roads. Lovely place.

What an amazing place Possum Park is. Julie is an efficient, friendly hardworking host who went out of her way to show us the different types of accommodation. Underground Bunkers, cabins, railway carriages or soon to be finished airplane. What they have achieved here on this site that was once a WW2 ammunition depot has to be seen to be believed. The other guests were so friendly as they sat around the communal camp fire and had evening drinks. The cabin we had was spotless and we definitely will be back.

A historic military site, adapted as accommodation for travellers and those who want to linger longer in the bush. The theme is adaptation - ammunition bunkers converted to comfortable cabins, rail cars for sleeping, TV, reading etc. and eventually a passenger aircraft which is a work in progress.
Being on a gravelly ridge, there is little lawn, but the planting and improvements have catered for this nicely. There is also the usual caravan park and provision for tourist buses. The hosts are marvellous - real outback hospitality. Our bunker was really well equipped with the necessities and more.

Our group stayed at Possum Park in late June and it was amazing. Such an interesting and unique place to stay. Julie and David were only too happy to help us, let us know what was going on at the park and ensure we were comfortable. Over all quirky and very clean would came again and like to stay longer next time.

We intended on staying overnight but ended up staying two nights. Julie was a great host and John Bateman entertained us with yarns and his wonderful photo calendars. The facilities were clean and well appointed, but the big attractions were the military bunkers and TAA plane. They are converting them for accomodation in a retro manner. Exceeded our expectations.

The host Julie is extremely passionate about this wonderful Park. We felt very welcome and were overjoyed at being shown the TAA plane accommodation and listening to the history of Possum Park from both Julie and John. A very worthwhile visit.

We have visited this place about six times during the past eight or so years.
There is nothing to dislike about the place and Julie the owner is a perfect host and went out of her way to accommodate our every need. A true piece of paradise

An interesting bush park with all types of accommodation. Old ammunition bunkers, train carriages made into forms of accommodation together with powered and unpowered van sites. Mostly drive through. Access is easy. Amenities are ample and reasonably clean , however given the dusty location done dust is to be expected. An interesting place to visit. We were interested in the history of the site and used this as an overnight stopover between Dalby and Roma.

We have been visiting this caravan park for many years and have always had a very pleasant reception from the owners who have also been there for many years. It is a fascinating place with a lot of history going back to World War 2. It is in a very quiet and peaceful setting a long way from any main roads or houses. The facilities are old but very well maintained and cleaned.

Best thing is to ring Possum Park. We stayed in a underground bunker which is probably the warmest option at this time of the year. Not sure if the bunkers can take 4 persons.
