Detailed Reviews
We stayed here on a return business trip and we were happy we stayed. My coral trout with lemon pepper sauce was cooked perfectly as was my husband's meal. Rooms and the entire place is immaculately clean and the hosts/owners are obliging and very helpful. Coffee plunger and real ground coffee in the rooms :)
We will stay here again.

This was the second time in 3 years I had used this hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful even when I accidentally booked the wrong date and had to ring to change it. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and tidy. Thank you very much

Clean, comfortable and great location. We loved our stay here. Joanne runs this motel like a well oiled machine. Her staff are great. The rooms are so clean. Bed comfy. Room service offered everyday. The first motel we have stayed at to do so. Covid used as an excuse to drop room service the whole way up the coast. Not here, well done. The restaurant also has great food. Well done all. Thanks for a great stay.

Spotless, roomy. Helpful owners, friendly Covid checkin, grounds spotless, useful pool for summer months, easy parking. Bedding great, firm bed, upstairs rooms nice and bright, quality blockout curtains for night. Thanks for a nice stay.

We stopped at the Barrier Reef Motel after a very long days drive. It has good motel rooms which are clean and comfortable. There is also a very good restaurant attached to the reception area. Many thanks to Joanne and Glenn from the restaurant and Cathy on reception for a pleasant restful stay.

We pulled in here on a whim. Not the cheapest place but clean, the beds are comfy, the pool is inviting and the staff are just lovely. We had dinner in the restaurant and were so pleased we did. Huge portions, perfectly cooked. The vegetables were absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favour.

This motel was great for a short stay. Rooms were very clean and tidy and the staff were friendly. Town, shops and restaurants were only short 5 minute drive away. Highly recommend staying here if you are travelling to Innisfail.

We booked this on line , because the blurb stated " Outstanding holiday and corporate accommodation" , " Comprising 41 modern air-conditioned units etc.'' and so it goes on.
The rooms are old, small tv, dark shower recess, and BORING. the "Modern" bit might have had some relevance 20 yrs ago , but it's sure a flowery disciption and nothing like what we expected.
If you're lucky parking could be close to your designated room or otherwise park elsewhere and lug your cases. Hopeless !
Cost was $120.00 per night and needless to say we left it at just 1 night.
2 Stars would have been generous and this case emphasises the problem with booking and paying online . It does have a restaurant, with prices that would make Tetsuya look cheap. We went to the local RSL instead and had a lovely meal for about a quarter of the price.
Would NOT recommend this place.
