All of our units continue to enjoy a mini upgrade or a refresh. This may includes new Doona Covers, Bedside lamps, Artwork, curtains and anything else we as a team feel that a particular unit may need refreshing and guests that are now return customers who may have been in that unit recently will know that our units are constantly being upgraded for their comfort and not left for years when a big upgrade is inevitable as all of their units are now very dated and guests are leaving their accommodation to search out units such as our own that are fresh, clean, modern and are scrutinized on a very regular basis. So far in 2018 our units have all been refreshed with each unit fitted with new curtains, very high quality doona covers, artwork, bedside lamps and sometimes bedside tables. Yes we are small with only 10 units to proudly offer but they are all very original and each one has much to offer for your comfort and freshness after a relaxing night to resume your journey.

Clean and comfortable room.
Friendly and professional staff.
Great price. Nuff said.

200 characters needed so I’ll go into detail.

I came into town tired mid morning and wanted a shower and some sleep - they were happy to sort me a room and I was able to check in early that was absolutely fantastic.

In the evening a visitor in another room had an accident with his car and it was handled in a professional manner without causing the visitor any more stress - impressive to watch.

I will absolutely stay at the black marlin again

Clean and tidy motel. Friendly staff who know the area and provide unbiased options for dining and tourist spots. All the basics provided, with fresh milk and a small complimentary wine. Located on a quiet street.

I don’t expect a lot from a motel. Easy parking and access, a comfortable bed, a clean and tidy room, and a good shower. The Black Marlin ticks all the boxes for me. It is a perfectly ordinary place but I am not looking for something special.

Stayed at the Black Marlin Hotel with my partner whilst visiting the surrounds of Innisfail. Owner at the hotel was helpful with places to visit, the hotel is located within the main area of Innisfail so a great location and the beds are comfortable.

The issues however with this property include the Owner being very skeptical about my partner using the pool throughout our stay as well as the BBQ being put away behind our backs. I try to keep to a low carb diet and to a budget which is why we wanted the BBQ, so we needed to buy breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. My partner tried to open the windows are his arm was covered in dust and the window would not open. Aircon and TV remote stopped working after 3 days. The bathroom and shower are very small plus we certainly did not get any bottled water or have access to an iron during our stay.

If your only staying 1 night however it’s reasonable but anything more than that is too long. We would not stay here again however

We stay in a lot of motels each year at different price points and we concluded that at around $100 per night this place is well over priced. The room was on the small side but reasonably well equipped. The bed was the smallest we have slept in in 20 years, a double at best, definitely well smaller than a queen.

The bathroom was tiny with no bench space whatsoever. The small TV is mounted so high up the wall we got a sore neck from watching it. The AC was effective and very quite.

Service was ok and it was nice to be offered some fresh milk. Our room was right next to the reception area and the back door was left open and the blaring radio all afternoon made it necessary to close our door.

It's very handy to Bunnings but if you want a short walk to eating places this is not the place for you.

Compared with other motels in the area which are better and have a rate of around the $100 mark we concluded a rate of around $70 for this motel would be more appropriate. We won't be staying there again.

The Worst place ever stayed at in all our trips worldwide Book at your peril! We arrived at 4.30pm sign on door “Ring Bell” so we Rang & Rang for quite a while so in desperation found a side door same sign Ring Bell but again no response so tried the door handle and the door opened I called out “Any one there’ a couple of time they this Women came screening out “What are you doing in my house my daughter is walking around naked” Apologised saying were were only trying to get our room, She said we should have rang the phone number But I said were from the UK and dont have a Australian phone! Finally got our “Delux” room we had booked for 3 nights, on inspection it was like a converted garage! First No WiFi she said she had a problem, the guy net door allowed us to use his address. We went out came back 8.30pm No Tv so NO Wifi and now NO TV to watch. Only one chair. The main Room Light wasnt working she said she new! The sink was so small better best suited to a dolls house, and impossible to fill the Kettle having to fill with a cup. We decided one night was enough so next morning we told this Vile women we were not stopping any longer and asked for a refund for the two remaining nights $210. She said NO even when we pointed out all the problems she just would not accept it was her problem. She was totally in denial and kept on saying she had her children to see too. We Contacted Hotels.com who apologised and offered a good Will gesture but said we would have to contact her but wouldn’t give a email address. We left and and found a place that was correctly advertised (Delux).

This is the last place I would recommend staying anywhere in Nth Qld. The room I saw looks nothing like the photo. You would think that if two of us were struggling to open the sliding door and talking to each other about the operating hours for reception, that the person sitting behind the desk would welcome us. Lucky for us that she botched up the booking and missed one of the two rooms we booked, so we stayed elsewhere. Be prepared for a battle if you want much of a refund after they make a booking error.

We booked the Black Marlin Motel on line via Wotif. Boy did we luck out. The motel is inder new management and what great managers.Simon and Veronica Fish are the new managers and they make you feel so welcomed from the moment you arrive. they themselves have only been there a few months but talking to others staying, there have been big changes. I found the rooms to be spotless, large and very comfortable. When asked where to eat , Veronica, gave clear directions and even recommended lace she and her husband eat at. The most amazing thing for me was that , after travelling for 4 days and having a mound of washing, Veronica offered to wash our clothes for us as the laudrymat near by was closed. She not only washed and dried them, she folded them and returned them to our room. Now that is going way over guest service. Highly recommend a stay at the Black Marlin, close to every thing with exceptional hosts.

New bed linen and big soft fluffy towels. The rooms are fresh and clean.
Plus the best ever homemade chocolates as a welcome gift in the room on arrival.
I have stayed at the Black Marlin before, but now that the owners Sue and Col are back they have made it so much better.
They give it that wonderful friendly personal touch.

I was recently in Innisfail on business and stayed at the Black Marlin Motel.
Upon check in the staff were extremely friendly and also steered me in the right direction for some fantastic local seafood.
The room was newly furnished and very clean and comfortable.
An absolutely fantastic motel to stay in and so close to everything.
