Atherton Backpackers at the Grand Hotel is like a home away from home. From the first moment I met the caretakers Rob and Jenny, I felt so welcomed. These are two of the most kind-hearted people you will ever meet, and I couldn't be more grateful to have had them during my time in Atherton and in my life moving forward. Granted, it is not a party hostel (P.S. party hostels pretty much don't exist in the tablelands), but it is BETTER than a party hostel. It is a welcoming, clean, friendly place where you will meet interesting, kind and fun people who will end up feeling like family.

AVOID this place at all costs. Place is invested with rats and mice. Caretakers and Management know about this and there still running about. Don't waste your time and save your money. Beds aren't comfortable and really isn't the cleanest of places.

A huge pat on the back to Business Owners Tom and Laura Draper & to Carol & Norm Cockerell.. My partner and I were a part of a large group that have had the privilege twice to stay at their unique pub. We were greeted & treated as if we are apart of a family. Your hospitality is flawless, always with a warm welcoming smile. In the 6 years I've been playing 8 ball, of all the venue's I have experienced as far as hosting goes, no other venue touches you guy's. Thankyou so much, can't wait to see you all again. Phoebe Odo & Chris Worrall. ☺

I've been here for 3 weeks and it's by far the best working hostal I've been to. Carol is the best, she makes it feel like you are at home, very cozy and friendly. Everything is kept clean and it's near all the shops.
