Beautiful place but be prepared to be bothered by employees all the time offering possible upgrades, experiences and memberships making you feel diminished if you are not a member of the hotel: It feels like the spending we did was not worth enough to enjoy a decent experience of the hotel. Long lines to access restaurants and if you are a little bit late you won’t find many dishes available Pool areas are totally crowded, if you want a bed you need to pay an extra for a tend (in my case we were traveling with 4 adults and 2 kids) BE CAREFUL WHERE YOUR ROOM IS LOCATED, SPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE DISABILITY NEEDS OR TRAVELING WITH KIDS….THERE ARE ROOMS NEARLY 900mts AWAY FROM POOLS AND RESTAURANTS SINCE THE HOTEL IS MASSIVE!!!! The beach was full of sea weed and stones instead of thin sand.

We just came back from Dreams Bahia after an amazing week. We booked an ocean view preferred club room, it was located at the second floor. It was really well communicated and situated with a close staircase and elevator near by. The room was a good size for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young kids), clean and the beds were comfortable. the view even when it was little obstructed, it was pretty nice, We booked thru EXPEDIA and please keep an eye out, we were supposed to paid a deposit and the rest at property, but what Expedia does it’s that they actually just put a hold on your card, so we had to pay the full amount at the resort. The lady that did our check in called and figured out what happened. If you traveled before to a Dreams resort and booked a preferred room, don’t expect it to be the same, the “amenities” and the extra value it’s not shown at this resort. There’s no preferred section in any restaurant or pool, just a little section by the beach. If you travel with kids save the money and don’t pay preferred, if you are traveling with adults, skip the Dreams and just go to Secrets and pay for the preferred room. It’s totally worth it, just not at Dreams. We had an AMAZING Buttler. Salvador worked above and beyond to make us feel happy. I really hope they give him a raise or a higher position. It’s not our first time booking a preferred room that comes with the butler service and by far Chava is the best that we ever had. He checked on us several times searching us by the pool and sending us messages to see if we needed anything. People like him deserve a big shout out for the amazing job they performed. The entertainment team is pretty good specially Adamary she made my older daughter feel special by saying hi to her everyday by her first name, we looked forward every day at 11 making bracelets with her. Jesus our pool waiter was incredible, bringing us waters and juice for the girls and remembering what kind of drinks we liked. Don’t miss the opportunity to have a massage, request Erika she is the best, tip, massages at the beach booked in the hotel are cheaper than the ones at the spa and you have a magnificent view of the beach. Food was pretty good to be an all inclusive, fresh and a good variety. If you are planning on going to all the restaurants at the hotel, keep in mind that 60% of them are for adults only. Omar the taco maker and Lupita at the Taqueria are amazing, the burrito and Al pastor tacos are to die for. Diana the hostess at sea side grill is extremely nice she did a great job every time we saw her, same as Antonio the waiter, he was super fast and friendly. Shout out to Jasmin and Bonifacio from the cleaning crew!!! If you want surf lessons just walk down the beach and ask for Jecsan, great price and my daughter loved the lesson. Now the bad: Bring water shoes, the beach of rocky and not really suitable for swimming. On the happy note, if you have kids, they are gonna love picking sea shells. Water park for the kids kind of small and the pools are weird shaped or out of the ordinary designed. The explores club /kids club, we had an incident with one of the girls that worked there. She made my daughter cry and was extremely disrespectful when I went back and asked what happened, when I informed her that I was gonna put a complaint she mocked me saying go ahead. The hotel had a great response and try to make my family and daughter feel better. Not all the ladies that work at the kids club are as bad as this one. It was just her and my daughter told us Cristina was her favorite and also the activities that are outside like the euro bungee. Overall we had a great time at the hotel and we will definitely come back to the secrets side.

Ruined my family vacation! I’m not even sure where to start with the horrible experience me and my party of 7 experienced while here for 5 days. The first night we were there, the AC was broken and wouldn’t work. I had to ARGUE for an HOUR to get a different room that night. The maintenance man told us it wasn’t working and couldn’t be fixed until the next day due to a sensor. After waiting for a call back from the front desk, I eventually called them and they told me they were under the impression that the AC was fixed. The front desk agent told me that the ONLY other room that was available needed to be cleaned and it would take 2 hours (it was already 11pm) and it would be best to wait until the next day because they wouldn’t want us to move rooms another time They ended up upgrading our room and while that was nice, we didn’t ask for an upgrade, and they just kept throwing that in our face when we had all of the other issues with them. We were happy with our level room and didn’t need an upgraded room - we just wanted working AC! We had booked a ‘tropical view swim out’ room and that was a disgusting joke on their part. The water features didn’t work and it was FULL of dead bugs. I was told someone would come fix it and clean it, but no one ever came. Next was being told by the concierge that they’d assist in securing transportation for us to an excursion in Puerto Vallarta and when I went to the office to confirm, the ‘chief concierge’ came to tell us his employee would not say that. I told him to have that employee come over to tell him that’s what he had told us and the chief concierge refused to do so and called me a liar. I pulled a ‘Karen’ and asked to speak with a manager and was told that he (the chief concierge) was in control of the entire resort and no one was above him - he made all of the decisions The website advertises canoeing but they don’t have it. We said that the website shows they do, so the employee checked the website, saw it was advertised, and said that it’s wrong We were told we didn’t need to make reservations for paddle boarding but when we went down to the (horrible) beach, the man working the paddle boards said we did need reservations and they didn’t have anything available until the next day - we had planned our day around paddle boarding. There was no communication or consistency between the staff. We truly felt they treated us as they already got our money so they didn’t have to provide customer service or basic needs like AC in Mexico, in July. We made reservations for the Hibachi restaurant and we were aware it’s a minimum age of 12 years old to eat there. We got there and the lady questioned my sons age so she had to call up to the front desk - whatever, I understand as he’s on the small side for his age and she had to do her job. The front desk provided her with information that my son was only 8! Complete misinformation and when we looked inside of the restaurant, there were kids in there that were very clearly not 12 years old. We ended up leaving because at this point we were so over this vacation. The absolute worst part of our stay there was upon checkout. They told me I had $1,311 in charges to my room. That was inaccurate and I asked for a statement showing what the charges were for. They provided me one in Spanish and when I asked for a statement in English, they said they didn’t have to provide me one because we were in Mexico. I asked them to explain to me the items on the statement and the very first item, water shoes, was something I did NOT purchase or charge to my room. I told him I wasn’t going to pay until I knew what I was paying for and he said they would close the gates and we wouldn’t be able to leave until we paid. We were already running late to the airport, so I had no choice but to pay - it was like we were being held hostage Save your money! If you’re looking for a relaxing and stress free vacation, run as far away from this place as you can. I really can’t say that enough…RUN!! You’d be better off taking your thousands of dollars and setting it on fire I hope you take my review seriously and book your vacation elsewhere!

Just arrived back from a 6 night stay at this resort. Let me first say that I had read many reviews prior to our stay, so I was prepared for the preferred vs. non-preferred and the Dreams vs. Secrets issue that others had experienced. This was our first time to PV and we travelled as a family of 4 with an 18 and 14 year old. Cons first: - While the resort boasts many pool options, the Dreams side was very limited. The Adults Only pool on the dreams side was the coolest (temp wise) and was generally not too full, however there was no seating or sun bathing near that area, which was strange. - Very little to do for the 13-18 crowd. Our 14 year old wasn't able to go to the rooftop pool but we did "sneak" her into the adults pool with th swim up bar. -Not many options for dining with a 14 year old with us. We ate Buffet several times for dinner, then had Hibachi and off the menu at the asian restaurant. It would have been nice to be able to have the same options for dreams/secrets for dining or at the very least have a "13 and up" rule instead of an 18 and over rule. Pros: - Food was delicious. Even at the buffet the food was wonderful. We enjoyed the Coco Cafe, the taco joint, and the barefoot grill most days for lunch and/or snacks. Lots of variety at the barefoot grill which was nice for poolside snacking. We had lunch at Olio once without the kids and it was fantastic. The Watermelon salad was AMAZING and I am dreaming about it. We had room service several times and it was ok.....the last few days we would wake up and then order coffee delivered which was nice. -The resort was CLEAN. I know it's a newer resort, but for the amount of families that we saw there the resort was very well kept. Rooms were tidied and turndown service was wonderful. People were constantly sweeping, using squeegees to keep the sand/water cleaned from walkways...very nice property. In addition to being clean, it was very beautiful. Grounds crews working all the time and plenty of "instagram worthy" photo areas. They are still doing some work on areas near the beach/pools, but nothing that was disruptive or distracting. -The beach was great. It's not the same "sugar sand" that the Cancun/RM area offers, but the waves were great and the view was spectacular. We have been to Cancun/RM over a dozen times in the last 6 years and the seaweed has been TERRIBLE. Being on the west side, you just don't have that here. There was one day where there was a LITTLE bit on the beach but nothing like we've seen. Boogie boards are free but if it's choppy, they won't let you have one. Surf boards are a rental and my daughter tried that (she insisted she didn't need lessons....) and it was tough but fun (I suggest the lessons BTW LOL). The surf boards can be rented for the day and when she wanted to swim in the pool, they let her just leave it up by the hut and come back for it. The beach is rocky, so water shoes are a definite if you don't want your feet to take a beating. -On site amenities: they have a nice little gift shop and a full pharmacy just in case you need something. We had a really nice spa day and took advantage of the hydrotherapy before and after our relaxation massage. The massages were great and they hydrotherapy was good. The spa area itself was very beautiful and relaxing, if you can get a deal I recommend it! -Poolside Service was FANTASTIC. Jesus and Francisco at the Dreams infinity pool were ON IT. They remembered our orders and just kept them coming. Daniel at the swim up bar makes a MEAN spicy michelada! Alejandro at the buffet in the mornings was attentive and sweet. - Accommodations: We were in a Dreams preferred ocean view. I had read reviews that the benefits to preferred weren't worth it. I have to disagree, the location of the rooms made up for the extra cost. We were close to the elevators, pools, restaurants, and far from the Secrets/Desires lounges, which according to other guests can get loud and stay loud. We had none of that. Our balcony had a plunge pool, which is set to the outside temp and is cool and refreshing. There was some algae from just no one being in it, and when we "stirred it up" it was fine. They are chlorinated so we just let the chlorine do its thing. Beds were comfortable, room temp stayed COOOOOOL and the bathroom had a really nice rainfall shower head. All in all, we had a fantastic trip. Will definitely come back to PV again, and this resort is definitely something we would consider.

We stayed here for two weeks, as a family with a 12 snd 16 year old. We had a junior suite with 2 x queen beds and tropical view. The rooms were stunning, lots of room, beds changed daily, with a free mini bar and smart TV. The hotel itself was really impressive, grounds were impeccable and a lovely little beach a touch rocky but we were prepared and took some swim shoes with us however you could borrow some from the surf shack. The entertainment team were out of this world. There was activities from 10am until 5pm and perfect for my older children. I have to name them Evelyn, Neto, Angel, Adiel, Liz, Aydee , Denilson, Ivan and Ricardo stood out for us. They had a constant smile on their faces and made our holiday !! Armando snd Manuel were our drinks waiters in the day and were so attentive ensuring we always had a drink. The only improvements if any would be more restaurants for the evening. Day time was perfect. It would be great if the Italian offered early family meals as opposed to adults only. We had an incredible hotel and would definitely return to the DREAMS family resorts again.

Just had two weeks at Dreams Bahia Mita Let me get the negatives out of the way at the start… We realised within 24 hours that this hotel is not suited, in our opinion, (certainly in it’s current format), to families with young adults (ie teens 15-18). If you’re over 18 in Secrets its great I’m sure, if you’ve got young kids then I think the facilities are good at Dreams. With young adults / older teens we struggled - pools a bit small, crowded and shallow, our youngest technically couldn’t use the swim up pool (we did anyway), there’s no tennis courts, 5-a-side courts etc - however as academy / college athletes (rugby and soccer respectively) they really enjoyed the very well equipped gym and the surfing (albeit a little expensive per hour). We couldn’t use the sky bar swim areas as not preferred clients and no point paying for this as Noah couldn’t use as under 18. The secrets pools, conversely, seemed empty much of the time which grated tbh. However, the main issue for us was the lack of night life - whilst our 15 year old wouldn’t be drinking, we are used to him being able to join the rest of us in kicking back / socialising in a bar / patio area (bear in mind it was super hot and humid) Evening drinks options for families (or anyone for that matter) are limited. They advertise 7 bars in Dreams, at night (due to Noah’s age) we had the choice of one lobby bar (dull) and one outside drinks area in the square(boiling hot and not enough seats) which feels like an afterthought. The only other options are the sports bar (over 18) or the shows - we went to a couple but they’re not for us. On the second day, bearing in mind the lack of a welcome brief, explanatory booklet and having been initially allowed in the sports bar and the steak restaurant (which turned out to be secrets) we were then refused access to the sports bar and another restaurant - Noah said he wanted to go home as he was cramping the rest of the families style. As you can imagine, I was not a happy bunny - having not really got anywhere with the concierge, I asked to speak to management. I met with Fernando who runs all the food & beverage operations - I made my case, the lack of welcome orientation, bogus info from concierge and inconsistencies around certain bar and restaurant admission, (the whole secrets, dreams, preferred client thing is a mess in terms of marketing and onsite comms). To be fair - Fernando, along with his team (in particular Ramon Marmolejo), really pulled the stops out to take a 1 star tripadvisor review to a 5 star. They really looked after us in terms of access to all the restaurants, access and great seats at any of the nightly shows we wanted to go to, a bespoke meal in Olio etc Over and above the VIP attention Fernando arranged, the hotel does have many positives: It is very modern, beautiful and stylish. All the fixtures and fittings are very high quality Our room was very spacious and well appointed. It was always immaculately cleaned each day (just leave the hanger on your door handle) The AC in the room and all areas was good (it was super hot when we were there as o said) The WiFi is very good which is great because UK roaming rates are a killer! Hotel is well maintained (it’s worth noting there is still some building works being done at the beach and by the Watling bar adjacent to main pool - this could be noisy with drilling and hammering - far from ideal). I would say the main pool wasn’t the cleanest on occasions- we had to get drops for an ear infection for our youngest. On that, I’m really surprised there’s no poolside showers? (There’s some by the beach) There is a less populous infinity pool but you had to get down there ridiculously early to get a spot It did irk us just how empty the secrets pools were - as I say, I don’t think they have the balance right presently As I mentioned the gym large and well equipped (by hotel standards) - it is busy first thing but empty at about 1700 (you also don’t have to wear a mask then as there’s no staff in attendance). As also mentioned, the beach / surfing was good - surfing not cheap though We had a couple of spas - world class and very stylish and relaxing in our view The big differentiator for us though was the service. Apart from two incidents, the service was first rate. Everyone friendly, attentive and helpful - special mentions go to: Ramon Marmolejo - he was our go to guy if we wanted a restaurant booking, he checked in on us everyday Elias - Marmolejo’s assistant Alejandro (might not have spelled that correctly) the head chef who did a beautiful bespoke menu for us at Olio Victor and Francisco who work in the breakfast buffet and then in the seaside grill and poolside respectively Ines and Armando around the pool were great too. Jose and Daniel at the swim up were charming and made a mean cocktail Hector and Rodolfo do a great job in Portofino also Special mention to Jorge the manager in the Olio restaurant - enjoyed his company as much as his service! Equally as good as the service was the food and drink - we did not have one bad meal. The website advertises 8 restaurants in Dreams (they’re not all open for dinner remember). Often ala carte isn’t as good in all-inclusive as they’re trying to manage costs, but the quality at dreams / secrets was very very good. I also liked that all the liquor was branded - tanqueray, Bombay sapphire, Johnnie walker, modelo, corona, etc Our best ala carte meals were Olio and portofino (over 18 but marmolejo sorted it for us) Finn enjoyed the speak easy night club - I felt it was pokey and I kept expecting Al Pacino in full scarface garb to appear :D The taco spot for lunch and el patio for dinner are great too. We had breakfast from the coco club coffee shop most days (the buffet got too busy) - fresh snacks and good coffee So look, did we have a great holiday? Yes. It’s an amazing hotel but our experience could have been so much worse, the holiday was saved frankly as a result of the special attention Fernando and Ramon Marmolejo gave us after my initial complaints around confusing policies and the limbo we found ourselves in with Noah only being 15 (and the hotel not being geared up for young adults). On the basis of this extra mile service and quality, the hotel deserves a 5 star review. Would I come back? I’d either wait for Noah to be 18 and be able to use Secrets hotel (who get better entertainment, access to all areas and more restaurants without fernando interceding!) or I’d come back to Dreams if they sorted out the family bar situation, perhaps implement our suggestion of turning the always empty moon deck, with its lovely sofas and flame tables, into a family bar area with sun shades / sails (like you often see at Sensatori family hotels) - they’ve said they’ll maybe do it (they can have that one for free :D) A couple of tips to end: Take lots of small denomination dollars or pasos for tips, the ATM exchange rates are ridiculous and they only dispense 50s which the front desk struggle to change. Finally, remember, as of writing this, the state of Jalisco (or is it Nayarit?) still require you to wear covid masks when in indoor public areas - we didn’t have many masks which was a pain - it’s a bit of a farce as you wear them to go into a restaurant and then take them off when you’re seated which I’ve never understood.

Amazing hotel, everything is clean and there’s a lot of activities. The service is great. Shoutout to the aquatic team, Jhonny and Jimmy. Jhonny was our guide for paddle boarding. It was so much fun and he was very clear with his instructions. I highly recommend taking advantages of all the services!
