We wanted peace and quiet, recreation and a little bit of luxury for our stay on PEI. Luckily we found Tania and Karl's B&B, a gem in the southeast of the island, with forest, lake and creek and plenty of space to relax. A beautiful wooden house with a terrace overlooking the lake, a cosy veranda and very tastefully furnished rooms with French beds. There was a fridge, coffee maker, fresh fruit, a hot tub, lots of things to do outside - like pedal boating on the idyllic little lake.
Every morning there was a different, fantastic breakfast from Tania and as much fresh coffee as you wanted to have a nice chat with the other guests.
Tania and Karl were great hosts, with wonderful tips for excursions and restaurants, with a lot of knowledge about the island, and they made our every wish come true. If you are looking for peace and quiet and to get away from it all for a few days, Forrest and Lake PEI Bed & Breakfast is the perfect place.
We were delighted and will gladly return!

Signs leading to the Band B are well marked from all directions and it is an easy driveway, crossing the confederation trail to the road end. Within a couple of KM's you have easy access to all you need in Murray Harbour at the general store and there is a fun tiki bar for craft brews, oysters and sunset views in the marina. The B and B itself is a wonderful respite with the lake that is more than a pond, being very peaceful from the dock/lookout in the changing light and a place to launch watercraft if you wish. At night we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub room. The breakfasts were a varied treat, accompanied by conversations with other guests and touring tips. I was able to enjoy a gourmet coffee before sitting down to eat. Just a nice place to be in the southeast and not far from anything.

We want to give a big shout out to Tanjia and Karl of Forest and Lake PEI Cottages and Bed & Breakfast Murray Harbour for an incredible weekend at their mini PEI resort. This couple and their children moved from Germany to PEI in January 2020 to purchase this beautiful property.
With our BNB stay, we had a choice of breakfast with more fresh fruit than I would eat in a day, a selection of breads and pastries, and a choice of coffee, espresso, Americano, cappicino, etc. And this am, rhubarb torte was also served!
There is so much to do….we biked to a beach in nearby Murray Harbour along the Confederation Trail that runs along the property, took out a paddle boat on the fresh water lake, played yard games and spent time in the beautifully-decorated gazebo / hot tub.
Do yourself, and our new PEI friends, a favour and book a stay at Forest and Lake BNB.

My family and I had the displeasure of staying at the Forest & Lake cabins in Murray Harbour from June 28 to July 5th.
The property is divided between a bed and breakfast main property and 5 cabins with access to a small lake.
It’s clear from the beginning that preferential treatment is provided to the b&b guests.
The cabins are basic. The furnishings are dated and appliances several decades old. To be blunt, I’ve been more comfortable in the last economy row of a discount airline on an international flight.
Upon arrival we noticed that several of the amenities as advertised were not available or provided. Laundry services were described as “in unit” but in fact were pay per use in a common area. Basic sundry items like bathroom soap, were ultimately not provided at all, and garbage bags only upon request and at specific times.
In relaying these issues to the host they were reticent in addressing or acknowledging, and instead responded with a “go to the store and buy them”. From a customer service standpoint, the response was terse and unwelcoming.
The environment was tense from that point forward. We felt watched and our every move monitored. Other guests we spoke to in adjacent cabins expressed they experienced similar experiences.
We made as little an imprint as 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 dogs could make there forward, cleaned and tidied before we left early.
We left them a good review as a matter of respect for a fellow host despite these issues.
They ultimately chose not to reciprocate and left an untruthful review of our conduct and stay. We would never stay there again and would recommend you don’t as well.

I booked a cottage for two nights for my husband's birthday. We had met Tanja and Karl when they stopped by our business one afternoon and we thought that we had struck up a sort of friendship with the couple. So, we thought that we would support their business instead of going to one of the multitudes of other b&b/ cottages here on PEI.
Tanja had agreed to prepare a lobster dinner and bake a cake for Tim's birthday, and, she was to serve breakfast on the morning of his birthday. We thought that was so wonderful and were looking forward to a great birthday celebration.
When we got to the cottage there was no air conditioning and it was a stifling 30 degree day. The kitchenette didn't have utensils, pots, pans, dishes, glasses,....,etc. The television was in the kitchenette over the hot plate which served as a stove with only one ragged chair to sit in while you watched TV.
The pond which they touted as beautiful and fun to kayak or paddleboard on was a stagnant, smelly mosquito infested swamp which we were afraid to put our feet in.
When I went to Karl and expressed my disappointment with everything he apologized but said he would have Tanja contact with me when she returned and before she charged my card. Instead she charged me full price for food that she hadn't paid for, picked up or prepared plus full price for a cottage that was advertised as more than it actually was and which we were only in for less than 20 minutes.
In short, the place was a dump and nasty, and bug infested. The owners are unconscionable con-men who are only out for the almighty buck at any cost. Buyer beware where these two are concerned.
Feel free to call me at 902-213-3331.

After your visit, we were inspected within 24 hours by an inspector from Tourism PEI Quality Management. The inspection showed that all cabins are very clean. No infestation of bug was found. Also no lack of cottage equipment was found. Our cottages are rated three stars according to Canada Select and we are sorry that you did not read the instructions and equipment and thought our cottages were 5 star cottages.

My wife and I spent several nights at Forest and Lake B&B on the far eastern end of PEI. We booked the spacious Lakeview Room. The king bed was extremely comfortable. It was on the warm side this summer, but a window A/C unit has recently been installed which allowed us to knock the temperature down at night. Tanya and Karl were fantastic hosts and we received delicious gourmet breakfasts each morning (including specialty coffees like cappuccinos). The location is secluded and quiet away from cities and tourist areas; however, most major attractions are within 1.5 hours. We loved our stay here and hope to return someday in the future!

We stayed 3 nights at Country Charm B&B for a little get away. Karl and Tanja are wonderful hosts, breakfasts were delicious, lots of variety and attention to detail. They gave us lots of suggestions for restaurants and supplied a map with highlights marked. Beautiful room with great amenities.

This place is a hidden treasure and definitely off the beaten path. We lucked up on it through a Google search and although we were skeptical at first because of the secluded location, we could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay!
Karl and Tanja were wonderful hosts and all our needs were anticipated. The upstairs room was beautifully appointed and spacious with comfortable bedding. It included a mini fridge and morning coffee.
The property had a nice enclosed porch area with hot tub and lots of seating. There’s a lake on the property with kayaks and boats, and a fire pit out front.
Breakfast was lovely with several choices which included fresh fruit and is made to order. Karl makes a great cappuccino and Tanja’s homemade jam tops it all off!

The property is quite remote, as the title suggests in the woods beside a private lake. There are a few other letting properties onsite. The B & B we were in was above a garage in a separate building.
It was very clean, comfortable and quiet with an adjoining bathroom.
One negative however was the lack of aircon during a very hot period.
A way of cooling down was have a swim in the lake a short distance from the house! There were kayaks, and other water craft which were free to use. This was a great bonus and were much enjoyed.
The breakfasts deserve a special mention. Tanya went to great lengths to provide a delicious cooked dish each morning alongside bread and fresh fruit.
Tanya and Karl were very generous hosts and were happy to talk and suggest touring routes for the area.
We would happily stay here again.

5 of us arrived at this Air B n B after a eighty k bike ride on the Confederation Trail from Charlottetown. When we arrived the owner met üs at the the road where the trail crossed and just 500 m later we road onto a wonderful property in the woods. We were greeted by the husband who showed us around their beautiful house. They stored our bikes and she even dried my cycling clothes. The rooms were larger and very modern. They reserved a spot at at Restaurant for us to have supper a few clicks away and we biked over. The breakfast they severed had several options choosen the night before and was presented in a typical German fashion. I could go on but sufice to say this place s definitely 5 star.
