We are located in the quiet town of Cornwall, just 10 minutes from downtown Charlottetown and centrally located to the island's beautiful attractions. You are just 40 minutes drive to Anne's Land and 25 minutes to Victoria by the Sea, a beautiful fishing village. A lovely 2 hour drive to east and west end of island. We are family friendly with a large indoor pool/sauna, continental breakfast.

Detailed Reviews
NOT dog friendly. Humiliated me for having my period which the bleeding came unexpectedly. I have a service dog who the person at the front desk tried to tell me I can’t bring. I called ahead and I explained that she is a service dog and that if anyone had allergies, to room us away from anyone with allergies. She did so, however was disrespectful in doing so. I’m female and unfortunately began my period and a little bit of my blood ended up on the fitted sheet only (not the mattress). I was very embarrassed about this. The employee wanted a $300 damage deposit because of the dog. She went to check the room before we left as we had agreed for dog damage and my dog is well-behaved and caused no damage. The employee chastised me about my own menstrual blood which is not my fault that I leaked from my tampon and pad. I’m grateful we had a place to stay. Very clean. However very disrespectful, inappropriate, and discriminatory.

Comfortable beds! My only real issue was poor shower water pressure. Other than that it was a decent place to stay. We managed to have two rooms next to each other. Very close to Charlottetown. Recommended.

The Dutch Inn in Cornwall is minutes from Charlottetown and a good choice for the economical traveller. Clean, quiet, and courteous front desk service make a pleasant experience. No fancy 500 channel HD-TVs though.
A simple hot breakfast was included in the budget price.

Treated wrong. We paid a lot for the room and to be able to swim in the pool. They give swimming lessons at that pool and the hotel guests have to wait for the swimming lessons to be over before using the pool. Well, we were allowed in the water but had to swim in the corner. The swimming instructor was very unkind to my kids, yelled at them for swimming in the middle of the pool and I told front desk. The lady at the desk was so mean to me. She did not care that we couldn't swim at all. Like I paid to use the pool and couldn't. The older lady just made me feel so unwelcome. By right the hotel guests should have priority over the pool, not the kids taking swimming lessons. The older lady treated me like dirt, and I was standing there in tears. I just left and will never stay there again. Just heads up people, stay somewhere else!

Here is what I found when I opened a drawer in the bathroom of my unit. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Staff wasn't really apologetic. Front desk lady said; "House keeping must have missed checking the drawers", no kidding! As well, lots of dirt under the bed and black mould in the tub and shower. Peeling paint around the bathroom window. Cable TV didn't work on most channels. The microwave worked, and there's plenty of hot water.

This is not a 5 star hotel but the mattresses and customer service felt like it was. They accommodated my gluten allergy, the suite was roomy and comfortable, and the pool and sauna were clean and inviting. The hotel is centrally located and easy to get to scenic drives and Charlottetown.

This hotel is old and uncomfortable. We did not have an advance reservation and got a one of the remaining rooms that onlyhad a makeshift portable air conditioner that was supposed to be vented outside, that did not work. Additionally, the hotel common areas were not air conditioned. Given the temperature outside was in excess of 30 our stay was extremely uncomfortable. Check in was ok as was the complimentary morning breakfast.

We felt judged as soon as we arrived. The old lady was warning us of something every time she saw us. We were not able to sit outside just talking (no noise). She made us feel like we were not welcome there. It was a first and a last time for us.
The swimming pool is disgusting the breakfast cold, the coffee not drinkable.
Highly recommended to choose another hotel.

We stayed at the Howard Johnson in early May and really enjoyed it. The hotel has a restaurant on site which is a preference of mine. Since we were travelling early in May due to the University graduation in PEI, there were little tourist attractions open so having a swimming pool, sauna and pool table on site was very enjoyable, especially since we had a teenager with us. The hotel is very clean and situated in the country for those who hate city driving. The off season rates were most reasonable and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone especially if you have youngsters on the holiday with you.

I used to stay at this property quite a bit 6-7 years ago, it used to be a hidden gem with great staff and very clean (albeit dated) rooms. This place has gone way downhill.
The check-in clerk was rude. We were given a room in which the A/C had been broken for days and the clerk got upset with us when we insisted on changing rooms. The new room was dirty with hairs on the shower walls and dust/debris under the beds and fixtures. Forget about sleeping in if you have a room facing the cow field - Moooooooo! isn’t quite as charming at 6am.
The pool was also closed and had been for a few days - it doesn’t take that long to get a pool repairman.
We couldn’t wait to get out of this place and won’t return.
