Detailed Reviews
The stay was quite good. The room had enough space and the beds were good. The room service was only available on request. The accommodation is Motel-like with the cars parking in front of the rooms. This can cause quite some noise from your neighbors. In addition, the Brackley Beach Northwinds is located at a crossroad with noise of the traffic.
Unfortunately, I forgot my Swiss watch in the room when we left the Brackley Beach and PEI. The positive point was that the housekeeping brought the watch to the reception and they contacted me via email. We had several conversations and the Brackley Beach Northwinds promised me several time to send me the watch by post. I intended to refund all expenses and efforts they have, to get my Swiss watch back. Despite all promises, I didn’t get it back and I assume that now the manager of the Brackley Beach has taken the ownership of my watch. It’s a shame that they misused my trust and that they are not able to provide a little extra service.

We stayed for one night in a standard room; it was very clean and comfortable. The room and bathroom were large, and the room had big windows with a lovely view of an osprey nest. Lots of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. It was very quiet - we heard no sound from other guests. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and offered good suggestions of local activities based on our interests. Complementary muffins and coffee were available in the morning. Good location for access to the national park. Would definitely stay again.

Really cute facilities! Close to Brackley Beach. Charlottetown was all sold out and we are happy we found this Motel! We had stayed at Hilton, Saint John, NB the day before and this was by far a better experience and better sleep! They actually have fitted sheet that doesn’t get off bed in the middle of the night! The beds was really comfortable! The staff was friendly and professional! It was an old facility but cleaned! Fridge was cleaner then the one in my own house! 😉. Would returned back!

When we booked, their site mentioned breakfast and housekeeping was included. When we arrived the woman at the front desk mentioned that due to social distancing breakfast wasn't included, our room would not be cleaned and if we had garbage to let them know. When I complained, she said had I called the hotel they would have told me. I booked online, so not sure I undertand! I'd also suggest getting a room without a jacuzzi tub, unless you want to hear your neighbors running theirs a 11:00 p.m. - the walls are paper thin. If you have sensitivy to smell, these rooms are not for you, as they sprayed an air freshner in the room that caused me headaches for the 4 nights we were there. I would have changed hotels, but they have a no cancellation policy and all other hotels were fully booked, given my travel dates. I honestly think they didn't have enough staff so they blamed the lack of services on needing to social distance.

We stayed at the property with our family. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable and the grounds well kept.
The pool was not working and while there was no sign indicating « working hours » for the hot tub, the owner shut it down around 9 pm.
Our experience with the owner was troublesome. Agressive behaviour and unnecessary confrontations with several patrons. Some in front of children.
I would not recommend due to his lack of ability to handle situations which can really ruin a vacation.

I should have read all the reviews the owners. We did not actually stay so I cannot review the property or operation itself, but the owner of this establishment has zero flexibility for cancellations, even when it comes to family emergencies/death. No compassion about taking your money regardless of whether the cancellation was out of your control. Will not ever attempt to stay there again.

Our room was clean and plenty of space, but we did not have hot water to take a shower. It was late when we discovered this and informed the office at 8 am when they opened the next morning. Of course by that time, we ate breakfast and checked out. We were told later that the problem had been fixed after we left, but for the cost of the room and to not have a hot shower, it seems a little more than an apology would have been nice.

My sisters and I booked 3 rooms at this hotel in May 2017. I realized after returning home that there was a charge of $520 on my credit card from the hotel. I called to see if they acidently put a payment through. I was told that my room was trashed, vommit and alcohol everywhere, the room was so trashed they needed to throw out the duvet covers. I was blown away by this accuzation, since it was my boyfriend and my two young chrildren on the trip, and noone got sick or drank alcohol! I got in touch with the owner issac, who was immediatly defensive and unprofessional. He refused to talk about the charges, said i trashed his hotel room, and demanded me email him so it could all be in writting. I calmly tried to explain to him that i am an only parent to my kids, in school fulltime, and cant just pay this noney with no proof of the damage. He refused to talk, and just hungup! He never even answered my email. I had to get a laywer involved, he agreed to give me my money back if i stop legal action. The day after we agreed. He took the money out of my account again. Now will not answer mine or the laywers calls/emails. From here we will be taking him to court. My hunch is that i am not the first victim of this from this hotel. Please me carful. The owner issac is a skam artist, and he will act again

We really enjoyed our stay at the North Winds Hotel. They have many rooms and when we were there (mid July), most of them were empty. They put us off in a wing pretty much to ourselves which we really enjoyed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They have many propane BBQ's on site along with a lot of open grassy areas and a nice outdoor pool. The hotel is a short drive to the National Park Brackley Beach which was fantastic. The beach was really nice and not crowded at all. The hotel front desk has a couple of park passes that you can borrow for free. The hotel staff were very freindly. There is a small restaurant next door to the hotel and it was just ok. There are a couple other restaurants in the area but you would have to drive to them. All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

The positives; the room was spacious, as was the bathroom. It appeared clean, however the fly on the window and the tacky fly swatter hanging in the closet area were not very welcoming.
Internet is sporatic, breakfast is ho hum, crowded for tours, bus your own tables is not what vacationers are searching for. Owners were rude to us after we complained about the breakfast and poor Internet connection. They did not know how to converse with people, and to make them feel welcome. They chose to ignore us when we entered the office/cafe area.
Too much money was spent on outdoor exercise equipment where winter prevails in this area most of the year.
Tours have other options, hopefully this one will secure another location.
Office closes at 10:00 p.m.

Response from Murray M, Owner at Brackley Beach North Winds Inn & Suites
Responded 30 Jul 2012
Thank you for voicing your concerns. I regret that you were not happy with your stay. We take great pride in our accomodations and the service that we provide our guests with, including our deluxe continental breakfast. My staff offered to change your room to ensure you better internet access and to prepare you a breakfast that suited your needs, which you declined. Should you wish to contact the owner and suggest what better options we could have offered he would be pleased to hear from you.
