The campground overall is nice, but its noisy because its beside the landfill. The showers are clean and $1 gets you 8 min, but we had an issue with a staff member. We were warned that there had been a bear in the area 3 days prior and to be careful with food. We kept our totes and coolers in the truck overnight, but just tucked them under the picnic table for an hour while we went to town. Everything was in sealed coolers or totes, no food just lying around. We grew up around bears our whole lives and this has always been sufficient. Upon returning to the campground the staff lady waved us down and lectured us about leaving the coolers out and she knew the contents of each cooler. She actually opened them and looked through them while we weren't there! I didn't pay to stay somewhere where people go through my stuff without my permission. Also the firepits dont have grates on them for cooking. Wouldn't stay there again.

Thanks so much for your feedback! We definitely appreciate your concern about the staff looking into your coolers. The bears that had been frequenting our area in previous years had become much braver this year so I'm sure she was being very cautious so that all of our campers would remain safe. And we have considered providing cooking grates for our fire pits but we pride ourselves in presenting clean and bear-safe property so and wouldn't want to take the chance of leaving unclean cooking grates for the next camper or another wildlife attractant. I hope you understand. I also hope that you, in fact, do give us another try next time you visit the Sunshine Coast! Thanks again for your review!

Great campground. The hostess Coleen was super nice and really helpful. Washrooms were clean and the showers were hot and surprisingly long for $1. Easy to find a beach close by and right beside the turn off to the bike park. Look forward to staying there again!

Water was hot. We got a private fully serviced site. Office is nice and Colleen was lovey. Playground needs work...not great. Forrest around our campsite was fun for kids. Seems to be more long term residents which was fine. Not waterfront as the name would suggest but a close walk down to the inlet.

We stayed at this resort earlier this month. The great experience started when making the reservation, and after that when we had to change our dates. Very courteous and helpful. We ended up in a partial site with Water and Power.
We were so impressed with the site. Very private with lots of trees and excellent privacy. Colleen was a gracious host, looking after our needs and giving us great information about where to go and what places not to miss. She included a detailed explanation of when to get to the Skookumchuk Narrows, which we did and enjoyed very much.
We were with two couples, but there was no problem when friends joined us for dinner one night.
The bathrooms were a bit dated but spotlessly clean and for $1.00 we were getting a very generous shower.
The location close to town is very convenient and we were walking distance of the Blue Heron, a restaurant that I would highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well-appointed and quiet park and would return for sure if we are ever in the area again.

We camped out and had a spacious camp area that was tidy and well maintained. We went for a site without power and there were powered camp sites available. Included a picnic table and fire pit, and wood for purchase with kindling.
Washroom/showers and laundry available, on site garbage and recycling. It was a quiet weekend and lots of birds singing in the morning. Can hit the ocean beach’s 5 minutes one direction and 10 the other way.
Colleen was helpful and accommodating and puts pride into the sites, and can recommend a spot based on your group or event.
Some sites would be great for large groups and parties.
Beautiful location and we look forward to our next stay!

We stayed 5 nights in a motorhome, with 3 kids. We had to stay in 3 different sites, but it was due to a lack of planning on my part. Our first site was # 7 pull through and we enjoyed the big forest growth. It was surprisingly secluded. The next site was number 20 which was our favourite- huge site, close to washroom and fairly close to playground. Site 44 was the last one and was a tight squeeze but beautiful. Only problem was the wifi didn’t work at site 44, and even our data barely worked. Playground is not top notch but our kids loved it. Washrooms always clean. Colleen was always helpful and accommodating. We would stay again!!!

We rolled in with no other options. These guys totally took advantage. $40 for our tent in the “overflow”, oh, plus $5 each for our two kids, and another $5 “Covid fee”. It was so loud, noisy neighbours, barking dogs, traffic. We finally got up at 11:30 and asked everyone to be quiet. This place is a dump with lots of what look like full time residents.
Next time we will be more organized and make sure we book something ahead.

We are sorry that you feel you had a bad experience at Bayside. We had a fully booked campground and you arrived with no Reservation and rather than turning you away we were able to book you into our overflow area. We suggest that when you plan your next trip, please book ahead of time to secure the dates and site of your choice. Regards Colleen

My 1st time at Bayside was excellent, that was LAST summer when they had better owners and staff! I couldn't believe it when they were yelling at me for a mistake they had made in the office !! Miscommunication on their end completely, and I was the one who was left crying from embarrassment

Stay away, the managers are bizarrely rude bordering on hostile. They double-booked our site, I asked for a double for two tents and we got the smallest half-spot with another family literally right on top of us. When I asked to move to another site the female managers were absurdly hostile and made big, nasty deal of it. Some strange biker guy looms around the office all the time. These Managers made it clear we are not regulars and as such, we were unwelcome and had no right to bother them. The sites have zero privacy and not much of anything between them, the place is so dusty people regularly wash their feet in the bathroom (flushing toilets and showers were decent though). The regular campers were abusive and would scream at you rudely to slow down despite driving very slowly already. Trashy people around everywhere shouting, making scenes. The place looked like a run down Quintin Tarantino movie or something. The Managers were unbelievably horrible, disorganized, losing reservations, credit card receipts etc. They make you stand and wait for really long periods of time before speaking to you and then move you aside to help others who come in after you. It's was such a bad experience straight away that we considered going home early.

Response from Colleen W, Manager at Bayside Campground & RV Park
Responded 15 Jan 2018
Once again Laura, my apologies that you had a bad experience at Bayside Campground and though I do not recall the double booking nor a problem arising with a site, I wish you would have brought it to my attention and another site more suited to your needs would have been extended to you. Regarding the tenants in the Campground being rude, once again, I apologize but cannot see anyone intentionally being rude to guests as we have a nice "community" of people in the Campground. Please call me at 604-885-7444 as I would like to extent a complimentary night stay with us so that you can see the Park at its usual best. Regards, Colleen Whitney Bayside Campground
