Pros: Beautiful winding garden walk down to the beach. The plants are immaculately manicured. The Bluenose suite is spotless and has everything you need. Heated floors and gas fireplace. Spacious and cozy at the same time. Delicious breakfasts with presentation in mind. Panoramic view in Bluenose is a pleasure to wake up to. Hot tub also looks over water. Little hotel like amenities like robes and slippers. Quick responses to inquiries. Friendly non-intrusive owners.

Con: You can hear noise from upstairs in the Bluenose room in the mornings. Ear plugs solve it!

The room was lovely; clean and well appointed. The setting and views are gorgeous with just a short few steps to the beach. Unfortunately the hot tub was not working so we took our bathing suits in vain. The breakfast first offered was very much different than that advertised. We were offered bran flakes instead of eggs benedict which didn't go well with us so we pointed that fact out to Peter that their website offered gourmet breakfasts featuring salmon eggs benny or Canadian back bacon eggs benny and that was one of the reasons we booked with them. We did finally get our benny's but were disappointed that they tried to substitute a very poor version of a breakfast to us hoping we would accept that. We did not. The accommodations were lovely however, but the house is up for sale so not sure how long they will be doing B & B.

Wonderfully themed decorated room with excellent service and daily rotating fresh breakfast menu (all homemade!). Extremely nice backyard just steps away from the a beachfront. My favourite part was waking up early to hear the sound of the birds down by the beach in the morning.

Norma and Peter have a lovely spot in Porpoise Bay. The views are amazing and the suites are very comfortable. Some of the amenities aren't available due to COVID, but this didn't take away from the experience at all. Fantastic breakfast as well!

We booked our vacation on August 23rd for October 2nd to 4th. The last line on the confirmation was “We are looking forward to meeting you.” It was our 38th wedding anniversary and we were very excited as we were recommended by a friend and the reviews on line were excellent. All the reviews said the same thing, excellent food and great hosts. I secured my time off work and we were ready to go. We found out the day before that the Bonds would not be there. We went thinking that we would still be in good hands.
We arrived to an empty house, there were no gourmet breakfasts. We were the only people living in the house the whole time. We were very upset and felt as though we were paying to house sit their home.
I advise people that if gourmet breakfast and someone taking care of you, DO NOT BOOK here.
I did send Peter an email that I was unhappy with situation and received no response at all.

Dear Joan and Doug, Norma and I are very embarrassed and sorry that you were not able to thoroughly enjoy your special occasion at our bed and breakfast. I am sorry we were not present to offer our congratulations for your 38 years of marriage. Norma and I had departed for a 20 day tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. For our holiday in previous years we had hired a professional live in inn sitter, Ada, who is well experienced and versed in the operation of bed and breakfasts and understands the importance of communication. Unfortunately for us Ada's services were booked elsewhere in the province for October. That left us with two options, close the bed and breakfast for the month or ask our bed and breakfast housekeeper, Lorraine, to step in as Inn sitter. Option one was difficult as we had reservations for that period already. Then Lorraine agreed to welcome guests and serve their breakfasts. We now realize how this short changed you and other guests during this 20 day period. We have operated our business for 7 years enjoying the compliments of our guests. But your comments are a severe reminder that we must do better. Norma and I thank you for your warranted concerns and have rededicated ourselves to superior service to our guests.

We celebrated our Honeymoon by exploring the Sunshine Coast, staying a week at this B&B. Our host was warm, friendly and accommodating; the food was exceptional and the coffee was gourmet; our room was spotless, luxuriously comfortable, and spacious; the view over Sechelt Inlet was spectacular; and the location was central to all the things we wanted to do. The hot tub soothed our aching muscles after hiking and kayaking, and direct beach access provided quiet times shared only with the wildlife. We could not have found a better place to enjoy our honeymoon!

Sechelt is cozy, beautiful, intimate and so is this B&B. Breakfast is served in your room overlooking the inlet. Hummingbirds, eagles, ducks, herons are all on display as you watch them fly along the shore. The rooms are well appointed and the bath tubs fits two people quite easily!!!
Very comfortable, very accommodating, great for gluten free requirements!

Susan and Derek: Thank you very much for your kind comments concerning your visit with us. We are pleased we could met your dietary requirements. And we readily admit that we too enjoy the passing parade of wildlife. Although Norma is not totally happy sharing her tulips with the deer that roam across our gardens. Using frequent warm feedings of sugar water we are committed to getting our little flock of humming birds through our current cold spell. And you can now tell your neighbours in Calgary that you witnessed a snow fall on B.C,'s Sunshine Coast. It was a pleasure meeting the two of you and thank you for choosing our At the Shore B&B. Peter

Very comfortable accommodation, great views and excellent breakfasts! Norma and Peter are excellent hosts who have created a beautiful getaway in Sechelt. Enjoy the view from your private balcony or from the beach. During my visit I was lucky enough to see harbour seals, ducks, geese and songbirds.

This B&B is for sale and the owners are truly ready to move on, which makes one feel a bit awkward. The spot is lovely, about 4 miles from town, with access to a nice stretch of beach. Great views, plus surprise visits from deer, Canada geeese, and eagles (though the owners are more into protecting their flowers than sharing in the guests' excitement of seeing a mom and baby deer so close up; the landscaping is pretty spectacular, but still...) make it a special place to stay. The room was a nice size, but darkish, so was the windowless bathroom. On that topic, guests have access to a media-room with large TV screen and a good choice of movies. French doors open to the terrace, perfect for breakfast in the sun. Breakfast offers were a puzzling choice of boxed cereals (really?), juice, yogurt and fresh fruit and a hot dish, overall rather disappointing for a 'superior' B&B with a hefty price tag of over $200.00/night. We hope they will sell the business soon to someone who casts a fresh eye over the place.

Yes, 11 years of encountering a wide range of temperaments and idiosyncrasies of guests from around the world has taken its toll and we are prepared to move on. Nevertheless we continue welcome guests with enthusiasm and appreciation and treat them as we did upon opening in 2006. This guest is chiefly concerned about my interrupting her close encounter with a deer and fawn munching on our flowers. While we do love the fact that wildlife, deer, bear and geese and ducks roam ours and neighbouring properties, we must protect our huge investment of flowers, perennials and shrubs least they be eaten down to the roots. However in this case I was insensitive to a guest's excitement of seeing wildlife close at hand. Due to this poor judgement on my part the guest's experience of wildlife on the Sunshine Coast was lessened and for this I apologize. The guest has forgotten about our range of main courses of German Apple pancake, eggs benedict and French toast. Peter

I really do not know, but I rather doubt it. THe owners have no dog. Deer come through nicely landscaped grounds. Call to find out for sure.
