Highly recommend the Sun chalets. We visited Onslow for a holiday as a family so we booked a two bedroom chalet. We got placed in chalet number 8, which has been renovated and has all the amenities you need, fridge wifi, stove, oven, full kitchenette and tv aircons etc They also have a book library in the office which is nice. The property in on the beachfront and it is a nice beachfront,we enjoyed taking the kids down for swims. Shelley (manager) went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. She was very helpful and nothing was too much to ask. We cooked dinner 4 out of 5 nights and although happy with the range of pots and pans, I would recommend you bring your own frying pan and knives. Don’t forget to bring all the basics like sauces, salt and pepper, dried foods and coffee etc as the supermarket here costs a fortune. …
Although not much to do in Onslow, the beaches are nice and everyone is welcoming. chalets have been beautifully renovated and the air con works very well in the Onslow heat. beachfront so sunsets can be enjoyed every night. Pool area is clean and maintained well with BBQ area and seating. Staff are very accommodating and friendly
We booked this place although 160 kms return from the NW Coast Highway. There was almost nowhere else to go around 4pm on the way to Karratha. The hosts made the difference and would try the utmost to make you feel welcome. The town itself is not much of a "wannabe" place and slightly deserted. If I could choose again, would plan my driving different and not stop there for 160kms extra milage and 2 hours loss of time
We normally stay in a 2 bedroom chalet for work purposes. The chalet has safe parking,it has all ur amenties you need, tv ,air con, wifi, kitchen facilites for cooking, shower facilites. There is laundry facilites on site at a cost of $4.00 a load. Location is beachfront but unfortunately we dont have the views which isnt a biggie for me..2mins walk and you are beachfront. They are in the process of renovating there chalets. Clean & tidy n friendly staff. Location is close to the town and is within walking distance to their local lotto shop/post shop, small supermarket which i am always impressed with, good range of produce & products, local pub n onslow resort restaurant, good coffee and good food. Friendly town folk n nice little town with amazing sunsets.
Must admit, on entering, it did not look promising and it is undergoing an upgrade. However, the accommodation has everything you need (inc good air-con) and is excellent value for the location. Plenty of space outside chalet with table and chairs to sit out in the evening. What made the visit so enjoyable was the very warm welcome from Ray with his knowledge of the area and what is going on. He is local and the first person on a reception that was not from somewhere else or passing through. Jan also was a pleasure to deal with when booking. Penny B
