Detailed Reviews
We are having an extended stay here and it is the first time we have stayed at a Mantra property since they have been incorporated into the Accor group. We are long standing Accor members.
The decor in the rooms, hotel and club is very appealing which creates a modern ambience.
For us it is not when something occurs but how it is dealt with and whilst there were some teething issues in that regard we are happy to say they were resolved and so we are very happy with the outcome.
The new GM Courtney is a very gracious lady who works very hard and tries to be guest focus. With it being in a Club setting and involved with the Club (all meals are there so it is not a hotel set up) then it is really important the Club management support the Hotel management in every way to ensure success.
The cleanliness is excellent in the room etc and the lovely lady who cleans the room; Bernadette is outstanding - a great asset to the hotel. Also the ladies in the cafe for breakfast are amazing and very friendly.
Having complimentary and undercover parking is a huge bonus and the area offers very pleasant surroundings. Housekeeping have been very kind to us and all the Reception people, including Courtney have gone the extra mile to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
We have extended our stay so we look forward to posting further good reviews after those stays once we have completed them.
Thank you everyone and here's hoping that hospitality will take off now we are endeavouring to move forward with the Covid era! Wherever we go it is the team members who make or break our stay - the Team Members are certainly making our stay memorable in the best possible way!

We stayed at Mantra Southport Sharks for our daughters wedding and they were excellent in looking after us. We had some challenging requests around a wheelchair accessible room and changing booking late due to travel problems and they looked after us very well with all of this. The restaurant associated with the hotel is very good and it was possible to get good quality meals

This is a fairly newly built hotel and everything is in pristine condition. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make sure all needs are met. The only thing missing is a pool. The club nearby is very convenient with many meal types and everything else a club offers. Suggest purchasing a membership for one year as cheap and you will save that money and more in no time at all.

We were checked in by a very helpful and cheerful gentleman, despite the late hour, and taken to a tidy and clean room. However, the room had a lingering smell that was quite unpleasant and stayed for the duration of our trip. We did read the sign that said our hotel room wouldn’t be cleaned on Jan 1st, however during our five day stay it was only cleaned once (on another day the toiletries were replenished) and we had to go to reception to ask for fresh towels. The walls are a bit thin, but not a major issue. There was also a fire alarm at half 5 on our first morning (granted this wasn’t the hotel’s fault) and the receptionist (the same gentleman who checked us in) got us back to our rooms as soon as possible.

The room was tiny - the experience did not at all match the description of luxury and facilitates available. There’s is no swimming pool and absolutely no facilities. The room had a odd layout and the wash basin was located at the front door entrance and not in the bathroom. Two towels provided !!! There was no opening windows so air con was the only was to circulate air in the room. The RSL attached had very limited dining options, all you can eat buffet that was overpriced ( $20 ) for kid’s ($39 ) adults and poor poor quality.
The only plus was the free parking.
With many other available options on the gold coast I can’t say this was good value for money and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel

A very pleasant check in and friendly front of house staff but that’s about where it ends I’m afraid. The room was absolutely tiny - shoe box tiny. No seating except on the bed. No doona on the bed and a thin, old blanket in the cupboard. When I requested a doona from housekeeping I was told “There are no doonas available for queens bed rooms” WTF! I bought a cheap throw for the rest of my stay. The toilet door didn’t close - it was dragging on the rollers and needed the strength of Hercules to get it to move 6 inches. There were no face washers and the curtains didn’t close properly so at night the room was flooded with light from the outside car park illumination. The free parking was nice, but plenty of bigger, better and nicer rooms & units out there on the GC.

Rooms are clean and modern and service is decent. Value for money is not there as the rooms are tiny and come with the bare minimum: only free to air TV, just a few sachets of tea and coffee and 1 milk, no quilt on the bed, no open window or anything. You can get a lot more for less at other hotels and Airbnb’s

I was visiting the Gold Coast University Hospital for work. Had just had the most terrible experience at another hotel and had moved here late on a Sunday night. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bedroom was perfect. It was clean and spacious and provided everything that I needed in a hotel room. The only down side is that it relies on the Sharks Club next door for breakfast/dinner. Not very upmarket but the food was actually quite reasonable. You just need to get in before about 8:30pm - probably later - later in the week. I was there on a Sunday and Monday. There is quite a nice bar on the top floor of the hotel which we planned to go to on the Monday night (we arrived too late on the Sunday night) but sadly that is the one night of the week it doesn't open!!
This hotel is not really a holiday destination - more for people working in the area, travelling through, visting the Gold Coast Hospital etc...

The Mantra is a BEAUTIFUL place to stay . I only gave 4 stars due to the fact our room was never cleaned in our whole week stay and we had to go down for new towels, tea bags and empty our own bins over 6 days . Rooms are comfortable and bed even more so . Shower great . Staff friendly, gym great, amenities easy to use .

We had a small family gathering on the Gold Coast and the Mantra Southport Sharks offered great value and a convenient location for this event. The rooms and service were very good even before we arrived at the hotel. The access to the Southport Sharks club for meals and a place to meet with others was an excellent outcome for the gathering. We also very much enjoyed the Aviary Roof-top Bar for smaller gatherings. A great location to access other sites bon the Gold Coast and hinterland.
