Where do i start.....

The staff are rude. The bed was hard and uncomfortable not to mention the cane lounges were also. The power switches were faulty as were the door handles.
I stayed there for a short holiday with my 4 yr old child an foun the only positive part of the stay was te view. As earlier mentioned the staff were unhelpful and quite rude. I had informed them of the problems in the apartment and also about the bed. When asked to be moved to another apartment I was told it would be too time consuming to move us around. I was offered a mattress topper instead and it was kindly handed to me at the door an informed I was to fit it and that there was no maintenance person available. After leavin I found out I was slugged an extra 20 dollars. I was informed it was for leavin a bag or two of rubbish on the kitchen bench and I had apparently left the apartment in a disgraceful state. How on earth a bag or two of rubbish is disgraceful beats me. I will never stay there again and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else. Also anyone planning to stay should bring their own towels as extra towels cost 10 and a DVD player for the week is an additional 30 dollars!

After a last minute decision to go organise a trip to the Gold Coast for January, we found Palmerston Tower Apartments on the internet. After our trip, we understand why their was availability there!
For the money that we paid (it was high season) it certainly didn't live up to our expectations. While the room was clean, it was seriously outdated. The carpet was worn and stained. The lounge was very uncomfortable as well. The property is situated on the corner of two busy roads, so it makes for a noisy environment.
There was a large, but narrow, balcony that had a lovely outlook. It was nice to watch the boats on the broadwater. There was also an excessive amount of balcony furniture.
The pool was small and was adjacent to the highway. It was noisy and lacked privacy - my husband and I only swam there once.
I understand the saying goes " you get what you pay for", but we certainly got ripped off.
If you want a relaxing trip, don't choose Palmerston Tower Apartments.
We recently recieved an offer from management for a return visit - they'd have to pay me to return! My advice is when travelling to the Gold Coast in January, book early! We will next time :)

We were dissappointed with our room, but the price was right. The beds are so old they are sunk in the middle and hard as rocks. Some furniture was broken, inside the kitchen draws was dirty and the kitchen had hardly anything to cook with but our friends who stayed in 1c had better kitchen utensils and a cleaner room then ours. We stayed in 6c. The white goods were new except the stove wich only half worked and was very slow to cook in. The room next to ours had been renovated and is the same as the one they advertise on their web site 6B.It seems they are slowly renovating and when booking through palmerston it may be a good idea to ask for a renovated room, good luck. A short walk down the road is a fantastic park with a bike/skooter park, netted beach area and parks and water feature for kids. There is a workers club a short distantance from palmerston that serves affordable bistro meals, join the bistro club for $5.00 and get $2.00 dollars off all meals and cheaper drinks.Would stay again if they bought new beds, I can go without the other luxury items but a good nights sleep means everything when on holidays.

Pros:

Location
Good views
Heated pool and spa (although one day it was not turning on)

Cons:
They silently kept the cleaning bond (200$). We realised it a month after stay. Emailing them didn’t work, so called them after couple of weeks after email. They said apartment was extra filthy and rubbish everywhere, although we cleaned it very well like we always do. Asked to provide images of rubbish, they promised to send an email, never happened, so called again after couple of days. They kept insisting that apartment was perfectly clean when we moved in but filthy and with lots of rubbish after we moved out. They refused to post any proofs/images etc. I would say something is broken in this process definitely.
So my advise that you take pictures before and after. If something is not clean eg dust beneath bed (they claimed that we left rubbish under the furniture as well :omg and they always cleaning there as well, so check well) report it straight away otherwise you might kiss goodbye your bond.
We stayed in lots of places around NSW and Queensland, but it is the first time somebody claims that apartment was left filthy and with lots of rubbish (it wasn’t). And a lesson for us to take pictures before and after.
Also, we booked via Booking.com and the amount charged was 21$ more than it was in the booking.com confirmation email. they said it is 1.75% credit card surcharge, although it was not mentioned on booking.com at the time of booking. I think it should be stated upfront, not silently some time later.

We booked a two room unit through Booking.Com, but we didn’t get service as Palmerston said that Booking.com cancelled our booking even though the site said the booking is still active. After some stressful negotiations they offered me an alternative one bed room unit which wouldn’t serve our purpose to stay for four of us. I was stuck in the situation which I didn’t have no where to go with three kids for three hours until finally I found an accomodation we were happy to stay. I’m not sure that which of them, Palmerston or Booking.com mixed up my booking but the lady at the new hotel told me that this has happened often with Palmerston. On top of this experience I was charged full amount of the accomodation fee which I didn’t cancel and am still fighting just to get full refund. The worst service I have ever experienced.

Response from Palmerston Tower Holiday Units, Owner at Palmerston Tower
Responded 25 Jul 2021
Dear reviewer, We are very surprised at what you are claiming. The mistake was not our fault, despite this we tried out best to accommodate you. When you said you were not happy, we spent considerable time trying organise you alternative accommodation at no charge to you. You were refunded everything except the credit card surcharge. The credit card surcharge is a bank charge which we have no control over. In the future I recommend you pay by direct debit to avoid these charges and book directly to avoid third party mistakes. Regards Management

Central location, amazing views of SeaWorld across the water, easy 12 minute walk to the tram that can quickly get you to main beach, surfers & Broadbeach. Fully furnished and serviced apartment, 2 bathrooms renovated, aircon, comfy bed and plenty of space. Large balcony, tennis court, swimming pool & spa. Lots to enjoy if you don’t want to venture out. The service was fantastic thank you Katie & your team!

We stayed in 10C a 2 bedroom apartment at Palmerston Tower. The Broadwater view is amazing and the unit is nicely furnished with comfortable beds.

It’s clean, has a full kitchen, ensuite bathroom, main bathroom with washer and dryer and air conditioning in the main lounge.

There is underground secure parking for one car.

We love the location and my kids love the theme parks. Can’t wait to come back.

We had booked the hotel in advance (1 whole year) for 5 apartments on the same floor. The day before every single apartment was on the different floor (keep in mind that there is more hotels for better prices). The lady we spoke to was rude and unhelpful. She didn’t even try nor want to help us resolve our issue. Us having the same floor wasn’t an unreasonable request it was to unsure children and staff were on the same floor for a school trip.

Did not stay at this property. Arrived to find a run down dirty building and apartment nothing like the photos depict. The owner made up lies in response to my poor review on Booking.com and said that I did not stay as I had double booked and that she was advised to not take my calls and that I was blacklisted by Booking.com. All lies. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY.

Going 2 give all the people out there and listen 2 me do not ever stay in Palmerston Tower. Its outdated, smells like crap,The beds were uncomfortable and itchy obviously bugs in the sheets and mattress, The funiture smelt like sick and drink, u couldnt even use the cutlury as it was from the 1980's and was discoloured. From day 1 walking into Palmerston tower I knew it was a dump, There is a house 20 yards from Palmerston towers which is a drug house u will see what I mean if u ever stay there but u wont if u listen to me. The cops where at the house evry day. Back to Palmerston towers the bed sheets got changed every 2 weeks which 2 me is really bad service, the carpet had burn holes and it was old fashion and smelt bad. Never ever use Palmerston Tower internet connection its a scam $6 for an hour might soon good but u never get on the internet. The telephone u cant make an outside line even though u r told that u can. The place is a rip off $600 per week for that dump no chance, so take my advise dont go I would rather stay in a haunted house haha and another thing which I couldnt never believe instead of wrapping your door the management just walk on in for no reason except giving u grief or abuse.Palmerston tower is on a main road so its very loud cause of the traffic

Better value elsewhere on the gold coast. Read the reviews and read all of them. I would say beware and avoid this place.
