Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and I stayed 2 nights here in late May 2020. It doesn't have water views but that didn't matter. It had lovely manicured gardens, a pool and a BBQ area and ITS PET FRIENDLY!!! For just $10 extra, our border collie got to come on a short holiday with us and he was allowed to stay inside with us on his doggie bed. It was spotlessly clean and was very well equipped and modern. The service from the hosts was awesome. Very comfortable bed and super quiet....you couldn't even hear any other guests. A nice little touch was the fresh (YES I SAID FRESH) little bottles of creamy, icy cold delicious milk in the fridge.

From our first call, Richard was very helpful and extremely easy to deal with. We arrived early and were able to get access to our room. We were made very welcome including our pet dog, Mickey. The room had everything we needed, outlined a clear pet policy and they even provided 2 towels for Mickey to wipe feet etc. The small kitchenette met all our needs with milk, coffee/tea all provided. The room was more than ample for the 2 of us and had a lounge, small dining table, aircon and heating. Next to the pool was a great covered area all set up with a BBQ. Whilst views of the water were not available, (only a very short walk away) the hotel is surrounded by a large open area that was like having a huge backyard to walk around and enjoy. Lots of trees & grass so great combination of shade and sun. Awesome stay, well priced and will go back again.

We love this motel, it is an older style motel so it has thick brick walls which keeps spill over noise from neighbouring rooms to a very low level and it is always super clean, has a big tv right in front of the bed and bright fresh paintwork.
Richard the proprietor is kind and relaxed making for a very pleasant vibe...
...but most of all it is a doggie paradise...
There are beautiful park like bits of land all around the motel and the beach is down the end of the road. It is extremely welcoming for furry friends and Richard thoughtfully provides extra towels for dogs returning from their beach walks.
Tin Can Bay and its motel are like going back in time to a quiet friendly gently paced world.

A group of eight motorcyclists, we stayed for a one night stop over, economical accommodation did not mean any sacrifice in cleanliness or service.
First time to Tin Can Bay and this stay at this Motel made going the more pleasant.

We are a regular visitor to Tin Can Bay and have stayed in various different accommodation places.
This was my first stay to the Tin Can Bay Motel and I was pleasantly surprised with everything from the booking experience through to the stay and the room.
I booked through the Motels own website as it was a great price with a two night accommodation deal in a King Room. The Manager (Mr. Richard Picone) was great to deal with and he actually gave me a further discount as I had had a bad experience when I attempted to book through Booking.com.
The location is great. It is very quiet and only a very short walk to the water and the walkway that travels the full length of the bay in both directions. Take a push bike as it's a really good area for a ride.
The room was great. A massive King size bed, kitchenette and a very good size roomy bathroom. Everything worked perfectly and it is exactly what you see in the photo's.
One thing that I look for in a stay is a good size shower as I am a bigger guy. I also liked the fact that there were accessible power points each side of the bed that had USB sockets as well. Great work there Richard.
The room was a good size and you could move around very comfortably without banging into anything. It also had a good size lounge as well as a round dining table and chairs.
I would recommend a stay at the Tin Can Bay Motel and I think that you will also enjoy a chat with Richard whilst you are there.
Thanks Richard for the great weekend at your Motel.

We stayed one night but could have stayed a few more. Room was basic but very clean, bed very comfortable, good value for money. King room also had a lounge to sit on which made things even more comfortable than having to lay in bed to watch the tv.
Kitchenette had everything that was needed. Fresh milk in a little glass bottle, just like the old days, for us to have instead of the long life milk most places leave.
Linen was immaculate even the white bath towels. Lovely air conditoner which kept us cool.
Staff where very pleasant and I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

We spent 2 nights at this lovely little motel. Greeted with a smile by a very friendly man and made to feel welcome from the start.
This little gem is peaceful, quiet and very accommodating. With beautiful gardens and yards and a lovely pool to cool off, at the end of the day. We plan on staying again and again. .
The rooms are spotless and have everything you need for a short stay and there is room for your boat or trailer if needed. They even have towels for the dog :)
Thank so much for having us, we'll be back!!!
