We had reservations for Sunday Oct 03 and were really excited about it. Arrived late afternoon and met by Mike. He said your room is upstairs and I looked at the beautiful 10 foot ceilings and the 20-25 stairs I would have to negotiate with my failing 79 year old legs and told Mike, sorry I cannot do this. His immediate response with his charming southern demeanor was, well I have a friend down the street and promptly phoned and made a reservation for us. I was disappointed we could not stay but greatly relieved with his attitude. He is a class act.

Laura and Mike are great and made us feel welcome and appreciated during our stay. Great location and very neat home. Breakfast was outstanding and they were helpful with tips/ideas for the area. Will visit again soon.

My wife and I have had the pleasure of staying there twice in as many months, both for four evenings each time. It is such a lovely home, cared for by a marvelous couple. The accommodations are perfect...super clean, cozy with comfortable beds. The town itself is quite quaint, with some nice shops, good places to each and very friendly townsfolk. Definitely worth the trip!!!

We spent a couple of nights here on our road trip in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Lovely old home updated. The whole house contains art and artifacts from the hosts’ travels. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Breakfast casserole one day and French toast the next. Convenient to downtown Burnsville, a neat little town. A short drive to Mount Mitchell, our goal.

We stayed 2 nights in October. Bedroom was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Nice room, lots of windows, and a cute little sitting area. The bathroom was tiny, but adequate. Breakfast was very good, especially the 2nd morning with a delicious vegetable egg bake. I would love the recipe. It’s a very old home, the carpet could use replacing, and the toilet was very low height, but still a nice place to stay in Burnsville. It was very close, within walking distance to the town. Not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but a very pleasant experience.
