I was glad we had a place to stay for this last minute trip, but even though it has been “renovated” it has been done cheaply and looks like you have walked into the 70s. I expected better with the Wyndham name on it.
It started with them giving me a key to an occupied room. What if I was someone with criminal intent? The newly renovated rooms have no place to hang your clothes. The walls, rugs and some ceiling tiles were dirty. By the 3rd room, the smell was better. There was no other vacancy in town so we stayed, never again.
Make sure you book this hotel online, because I got it for $69 per night. For $69, this was a gem of a hotel. The front-desk staff was friendly, the location was AWESOME, near everything and a quick drive to hiking. The rooms were clean. Now you can hear everything from the other rooms, but that is expected at a motel.
We stopped here while traveling through NC and just needed a cheap place to sleep. I was so glad to find an affordable hotel that also was clean, safe, and had a friendly and helpful staff! Overall we were pleased with our stay here
I am a local resident of Black Mountain and tried to book a hotel room because I was being flooded out of my home. I was turned away for being a local. I was completely dumbfounded at this and if we can't take care of our towns people during an emergency than I would not suggest anyone from out of town booking with this hotel. I did go to the Quality Inn by the interstate and they actually gave me a discount.
