Detailed Reviews
So glad we stayed in a cabin at Lakeview for a couple of nights! Kris and Wally were extremely helpful and pointed out delicious local spots to eat and lovely places to visit. The cabin itself appeared exactly as the photos on their websites: clean, recently remodeled, comfortable. Nothing too fancy but totally relaxing. From our cabin porch, we could watch the sky, lake, and birds on the 11 acres that are part of the place. Although within 20 minutes of Niagara Falls, this felt totally remote and totally relaxed. The well-supplied common/shared kitchen in the hotel was handy for making and enjoying our breakfasts before we went out sightseeing. If you are looking for peace and quiet, away from the tourist crowds, this is a great option.

No better place to stay when visiting the Niagara area. The owners are super nice folks and very helpful at recommending restaurants and attractions. Fisherman friendly and all the necessary amenities for meals including full kitchen and bbq along with large freezers for your catch and plenty of room for boat parking. Highly recommend.

We just returned home from a FANASTIC Canada Day weekend and wanted to share with those of you planning on traveling to the Niagara Falls area.
We had found the Lakeview motel online and called in May to book our cabin. We had no problem booking our reservation for July 1-3 and I must say, the owner was very helpful in suggesting area attractions for our 3 yr old and for the entire family. She did mention that they were not set up for a credit cards so we came prepared (cash or check)! Upon arrival we were taken to our cabin by a very friendly (and funny!) groundskeeper! This was our first trip to this part of the country so the groundskeeper took us on a private tour of the grounds and walked us to the lake front access....although he may look somewhat intimidating he was a fantastic host and someone everyone should meet! Just ask for Wally!
As for the cabin.....you won't be disappointed. They take great pride in keeping their rooms clean....beds were a little firm....if you travel with a little one just know that there are showers and no bath tubs (not a problem for a 3yr old that LOVES showers!!) The fridge and microwave came in very handy esp. for breakfast. The motel does provide coffee and hot chocolate and pastries (I think we had danishes). We grilled every night (Propane BBQ's are proved!) and it was nice to eat outside (suprisingly not many bugs!!)
Our last day at the motel the groundskeeper put the pier in the water so I was able to sit out on the dock and watch my husband and son play in the lake....COLD but my boys didn't seem to mind ;)
The Lakeview Motel exceeded all of our expectations we hope to be back next summer!! What a great Canada Day weekend!!

The view is nice but the cottage needs some attention. Needs new furniture, moldy shower curtain, also needs TV’s in the bedrooms, and definitely needs attention to the outside.. yard maintenance would be great..not much to do in the area, just need to drive to get a bite to eat !

This is a long, but in-depth review.
My family and I stayed here for a little over a week in Cabin #3 (3 bedrooms with 6 beds total, 2 bathrooms). The cabin is nearly-new, updated, very beautiful and clean, with almost every amenity you could possibly need (right down to tin foil) and yes, it IS considered a lake view. The yard is very large and it is only a 30-second walk to the lake, where, if you look across on a clear day, you will see Toronto, Ontario! The beach is a rocky pebble beach, not a sandy beach, but it is still pretty fun to explore. There are 2 picnic tables next to the beach available for your use, as well as a large deck with patio furniture and a nice gas grill, and fire ring on the cliffside of the beach. Wally, (co-owner with his wife, Chris) will bring you plenty of firewood for the fire ring each day if you want. I'm a MAJOR luxury bedsheet lover, so when I travel, I usually expect low-quality sheets but the cabin had awesome luxurious sheets and bedding. We left behind some food we could not eat up, but we were told that leftover food is donated to the local food pantry and not thrown out.
There is only ONE downside to the cabins: no wifi. BUT...that is what most people are looking for on vacation!!! Whenever I needed wifi, I just walked to their motel (across the street) and either connected on my phone or tablet or used the lobby computer. Otherwise, the cabin/cottage was a 20 out of 10! Oh I should mention that the knives in the cabin are very dull...not anything to complain about, just a heads-up.
The owners are AMAZING people. They are so friendly and helpful. Without going into detail of my vacation's rocky start, I'll simply say that they were like FAMILY to us because of how much they helped us out and cared. They are amazing people who will do anything for their customers and go above and beyond. I could sit and talk to them all day and night.
I could go on and on yet, but I think this review sums it up. We thank you SO much, Wally & Chris. You really made our vacation the best, even with a rocky start!!! We will definitely return someday!!!

We weren't sure where we were going to spend the last day of our historic hiking/biking trip so we had no reservation once we reached Niagara Falls -- with plans to spend the next morning at Fort Niagara. We drove to Youngstown and found no vacancies; my GPS system had few suggestions within 15 miles. In a desperate move, I called 411 for help and the operator led us to Lakeview Motel, which thankfully had openings! Be prepared. The owner doesn't take credit cards -- only cash or checks. Thankfully we had $80 between the two of us so were able to scrape together enough for a room. Because it was late in the evening, the owner upgraded us to a cottage and boy were we thrilled! Quiet - clean - private. Our own deck. A fridge and microwave. Access to a common area with tables and computer and coffee ready by 5 a.m.! Baby foxes in the evening and skunk smells in the morning. Something close to a lake view if you looked across the street and peered through the trees. We FELT like we were in the middle of nowhere and yet we were only a few minutes away from our next morning's destination - Old Fort Niagara. We had stumbled across something pretty special and wished we could have spent another day. If you are in the Niagara Falls area, this is a fantastic alternative to those overpriced hotels in the city. This is not luxury accommodations by any means, but it felt like our own little resort. One recommendation: Bring your own pillow if you prefer feathers to foam.

My stepdaughter's soccer team was playing in a tournament in Wilson NY. After searching the net for places to stay,I found the website for this place.I called and got their answering machine. The owner got right back with me within a few mins.and I made reservations for the weekend for a motel room. After looking at the website somemore we thought that we might like a cabin instead.I called back to see if I could change but she told me that the cabins were only avalable on Fri not Sat.I told her that was ok I would keep the motel room. When we arrived on Fri.there was a note on the door telling us we were in a cabin and to go right in.As I was unloading the car,the owner came around the corner and told us they had a cancellation and she was able to get us in cabin for the weekend. She was very helpful in telling us places to eat and see while we were there.I must say that everything that she told us about was great.I must say the only thing I really didnt like was the fact that the beds are only doubles not queensand that is why sleep quality was only given 3 out of 5.One other thing to mention is they only take cash or check no credit cards but that shouldn't be a problem knowing this ahead of time.I plan on staying there again and have no promblems recommending this place to anyone.

We were on a moto trip to Niagara and stayed in a cabin by the lake. The cabin was brand new and very clean. We coocked on the BBQ and made a fire by the lake. The owners were very helpfull and friendly. We were not lucky with the weather (there was a lot of rain) but it was a pleasure coming back to the cabin to enjoy good food and good wine. Thank you Walli and Chris, you made us feel at home.

We stayed a week here. Lake Ontario isnt visable from the motel, but is easily accessed. It was a wonderful stay, and we are planning on returning next year. We stayed a week in August of 2011. We stayed at the motel, our room was a good size, and had a microwave, and a refrigerator in it. It was clean and comfortable. The bed was a little hard, but wasnt anything that we were concerned with. The owners are personable and very friendly. They gave many suggestions and directions of places to go in the very rural area. If you want a quiet place to relax to just get away, this is definitely the place to stay.

The owners understand what you want out of a motel--a clean place to sleep with a nice, hot shower, a kitchen to fix a snack, coffee in the morning, and a comfortable bed. You get just what you want without paying for extras. The staff was very helpful, too, checking to make sure the room was warm enough and even brushing the snow off my car in the morning. I'm definitely staying here again the next time I'm in town.
