Blue Marlin Apartments is situated on Buffalo Beach Road. We have one and two bedroom apartments and studio rooms.Refurbished June 2017 a Beachfront Studio Apartments 1, 2 and 3 have beautiful unobstructed sea views. Most other apartments have some sea views (unless stated otherwise) and our refurbishment programme has updated units 4, 5, 12 and 13 in June 2018 with tiled on-suites and all units have been re-painted.

I don't normally give poor reviews, so I'll start on a positive note. The motel is very conveniently situated and was quiet and peaceful. The host was most welcoming and helpful. Now the not so good The plunger on the hand wash bottle didn't work. I swapped it with the plunger on the conditioner bottle so we could wash our hands. The first time we pulled the curtains, we found a pair of socks belonging to a previous guest. I assume that these socks are still tucked under the curtains. The toilet doesn't always flush everything away. To clean the toilet properly, you have to press and hold the large button down, however then it often sticks down. My wife spilt some water on the floor by the bathroom sink. She used a cloth to mop it up and the cloth came up black.

I am very sorry your stay was so awful. I will speak to the cleaning staff with regard to the cleanliness. We do have a major issue at the moment with trying to employ staff. They are just not available at present. Yes you do have to hold the button down on the toilet, I have had the plumber look at this and it is a very difficult one to fix, apparently.

Great accommodation, with everything you need to cook if your cooking. Rooms are tidy. Really easy to find. Great views of Buffalo Beach. The host is really nice as well that's always a bonus. Will book here again

It is handy to town and the small grocery store. Just across the beach so you can have lots of walking. Our room was good, it can be better but of course it's on the par on what you paid. She's a friendly host too, well versed with the touristy places.

Blue Marlin offers unobstructwd views across Mercury Bay whilst being within minutes of town bars and restaurants on foot. Units are modern, spacious, and beautifully decorated with quality furniture and decor items. Our bed afforded the most comfortable sleep I have ever had anywhere, including home .... True. Everything is squeaky clean and our hostess, Vivian, was extremely helpful in every regard. I would recommend Blue Marlin to only the most discerning of travellers.

Nice little unit for a couple. Very clean. Nice view with the beach right there. Parking space is tiny so dont take a boat like we did however the owner sorted our boat parking out straight away. Perfect getaway

There are two separate complexes under the same name - the one we stayed at was closest to town. The apartment was spacious and comfortable. It had a large covered deck leading off the living area with sea views. Whitianga was wet and cold during the 3 days we were there and the apartment lacked an electric blanket, and had neither a heater nor heated towel rail in the bathroom, all things that would have made our stay more comfortable but obviously not an issue if you were staying during summer. The bedroom could have done with a set of drawers to put items into. Staff were friendly.

Thsnks for your review. The apartment does have a heater and it looked as though you had been using it. I have taken all electric blankets off the beds for health reasons, and have very cosy under blankets. We service the rooms every day and change over towels etc, so you have clean dry linen each day. The apartment you had has been fully refurbished and painted last winter and has dishwasher, washing machine and is self contained. It was a shame the weather was not condusive to a stay at the beach but that is something out of my control.

We stayed for 3 nights on our driving tour of New Zealand.. Once we had sorted out our error re which Blue Marlin Apts were which we ended up in No 4 which was a VERY comfortable room with all the equipment needed for self catering. Its in a great position with the beach just over the road and the harbour/shops/restaurants near by.There was a laundry room right next to ours which was a bonus.

I am still at the apartment with a friend. We rented a two bedroom apartment facing the water and it was terrific. We had a washing machine in our unit although I do not believe most have one. I think there is a coin operated one for smaller units. Our unit slept 5 but there were just two of us. The unit was clean, great water temperature and pressure. Staff were fantastic. Bev was so fantastic! We can’t say enough good things. Location was fantastic. Within walking distance to the warf, the Lost Spring, grocery store, and many restaurants and shops. Of course, the beach is directly across the street. This was my friend’s second trip. I would recommend this as a great holiday apartment. We were in unit 9. Also beds were comfortable. Cleaning is done daily. I’d recommend and feel it was great value for the money. Our apartment faced the water but some do not. …

We were situated in room 12, from the outside, it looks small and in need of some TLC to brighten up the outer appearance. Inside it is rather special, clean, modern, tidy with a big gorgeous bathroom. Our host was super lovely and friendly, we would most definitely stay again~ 10 mins walk to the town centre, great cafes.
