What a find. Nestled in the hills above Whitianga with amazing views is this gem of a boutique bed and breakfast accommodation. David, the owner was attentive without being intrusive to ensure our privacy.
Our room was thoughtfully designed with everything needed for our stay. Added touches of PJ'S dressing gown and slippers plus towels for the beach were great.
Our breakfast table beautifully laid looking out across the bay with the smell of homemade bread was a fantastic start to our day exploring.
We used the hot pool one evening which David had prepared with the added touch of some prepared fruit and water for us.
Nothing was too much trouble for David from setting up crockery/cutlery in our room so we could have a takeaway meal to doing some washing for us.
David had thought of everything to ensure the highest quality bed and breakfast experience.

David's hospitality and local knowledge is outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Bayview Lodge and can't wait to return. Wrapped around the location are superb views with stunning sunrises over the ocean. The accommodation is very well appointed, quiet and extremely comfortable, with the restaurants, beaches and walks a short drive away. No detail is left untouched. Oh and oh those wonderful breakfasts on the terrace! Thank you David.

We have just departed from Bayview Valley Lodge after a perfect 5 night stay. It was a wonderful start to our honeymoon and we absolutely loved the beautiful views, personal touches, delightful meals and comfortable accommodation on offer. Thank you to David for your kindness and looking after us so attentively, we have never felt more calm, relaxed and rested. It was everything we needed and more. The spa pool was an added bonus and certainly needed after exploring and driving around the beautiful areas during the day.

This place is a piece of heaven in such a beautiful part of the world and would reccomend to anyone looking to visit New Zealand for pure luxury and excellent hospitality.

David and Adriano have created a real refuge. Wonderful hillside location, sensational view, spacious terrace. The house is in great shape and is run with passion. Our suite (living room and bedroom with bay view) was cozy and lovingly furnished. Even from the bathroom you have a great view of the very well-kept garden. Our area was completely private and very quiet. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Lunch is unnecessary. David and Adriano are always there when you need them, give valuable tips for excursions and restaurants and are simply fantastic hosts. Outstanding! All of the awards they have received are well deserved.

Me and my partner went for a romantic getaway during the long weekend and we ended up feeling like king and queen.
David, our amazing host, made everything perfect from the way the room was set up, to the privacy and the amazing breakfast.
The location of the house is amazing and you feel like you are waking up in heaven with the sun rising just in the window at your feet.
David made us feel really welcomed and he was always making sure we were having an amazing time and he recommended us amazing hidden gems to see around.
When you want to use the hot tube, you can have the whole garden for yourself which we found amazing for a romantic getaway. David also set up water, glasses, ice and fresh slices of lemon for us to drink inside.
I can definitely say that it was the most perfect accommodation I’ve found so far in New Zealand and I’m looking forward to go again!

Absolutly gorgeous suite with views to die for. David was incredibly accomodating and went out of his way to make our stay amazing. The bed was very comfortable and the sitting room was set out nicely. Breakfast was beautiful, a good selection of food set out professionally. The spa was set at a great temperature and the water and fruit platter was a special touch. David has made his home into a lucious place to stay, he has a wealth of knowledge about the local area and helps to book great dining and experiences for you. We highly recommend staying here.

We spent three wonderful days at Bayview Valley Lodge in March 2024.
David is a host with heart and soul. You can see and feel this when you enjoy the generous, delicious and freshly prepared breakfast at the table laid with great attention to detail. The spacious room with sofa, the bathroom with high-quality toiletries and the wonderful view of Mercury Bay leaves nothing to be desired.
Thanks to David's recommendations and detailed tips on excursions, we were able to fully enjoy the beauty of the beaches and nature in the surrounding area.
The absolute highlight, however, was when David invited us to dinner with friends of his and cooked a specialty from Calabria. We will remember this evening for a long time to come. Many thanks David!

During our trip across the Coromandel Peninsula we were able to stay with Daniel for 2 nights at Bayview Valley Boutique Lodge in Whitianga, high above Mercury Bay. From the beautifully landscaped garden, but also from the entire southeast side of the house, you have a fantastic view over the bay, to the opposite shore and to the Pacific. The house itself is also interesting: modern and with architectural sophistication, the spacious holiday apartment is integrated into the house and yet is a kingdom in itself. We had a living room, a bedroom and a great bathroom at our disposal. Everything is tastefully, modernly furnished with a recognizable sense of art and sparkling clean. There is a nature reserve in the northwest. Daniel is extremely helpful and friendly and can create a very empathetic atmosphere in a very short time. We felt very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful, deliciously prepared and served in an almost aristocratic manner. While we were enjoying, Daniel was already preparing a daily plan for us, how we could get to the hotspots of the Coromaldel Peninsula without rushing and at the right time (ebb and flow), while still having time for a good and leisurely lunch in a winery and the opportunity for a short but promising hike. There is no question that he was also able to accurately describe the specialties of the restaurants in Whitianga.

Top notch Bed and Breakfast! My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights during our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. Hosts David and Adriano went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay, even going the extra mile by assisting us with a flat tire on our rental car! The room and property are impeccably maintained and luxurious, offering a breathtaking view of the surroundings. If you're considering accommodation on the Coromandel peninsula, I can't recommend Bayview Valley Lodge highly enough!

Moreover, the included breakfast was a delight. Freshly baked bread, delectable fruit salad, and made to order espresso and eggs served in a charming atmosphere make each morning a delightful start to the day.
