I was doing a two-week solo road trip around the North Island and booked myself into At Parkland towards the end of my trip. Maria really is the most amazing host! She is so kind, and really does think of everything and will do anything to help you feel at home and make the most of your stay in the area. I loved that she was so chatty and happy to sit and have a glass of wine in the garden but equally made sure I got the peace and space I needed. Breakfast was a real treat, as was having my laundry dried in the fresh air on her washing line! Whitianga itself is a gorgeous place and I enjoyed some beautiful sunsets sat on the beach which is just a short walk along the stream from At Parkland. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend At Parkland to anyone visiting the area. As a solo female traveller, I felt really safe and very welcome.

A very comfortable stay in a beautiful part of the world, the Coromandle Peninsula, set in a quiet location near the beach.
Maria is the consummate hostess providing beautiful breakfasts daily and is so obliging in every way to make your stay as memorable as possible.
Everything is so clean with the bedding so comfortable and fresh towells daily.
I would highly recommend Parkland Place, Whitianga and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Great stay at the end of our trip to the north island. Maria and Guy were very friendly and helpful during our stay. They both offered lots of suggestions of hidden gems to visit as well as the main attractions.
Breakfast was freshly cooked each morning by Maria and there was lots of choice. There is a kitchen area for guests to use which was great.
Just a short drive or approx 30min walk on the beach from Whitianga, this B&B was very peaceful and relaxing.

Our flights from Melbourne were cancelled due to the cyclone and we had to abandon our trip to the north island completely and fly straight to Christchurch. I knew that we were outside the cancellation window and accepted that. I contacted the property via the hotels. Com virtual agent asking if in the circumstances they would consider a refund. No reply. So I contacted them directly- the reply was that they were open and the weather was lovely- that’s fine if you can get there! They declined to refund which they are perfectly entitled to do. This contrasts with another booking we had made for the Thermal Oak in Rotorua. We contacted them and Emily was much more understanding and offered a refund- I know where I will be taking my business when I come back to NZ and I also know which business reflects well on the reputation of NZ tourism

The facilities are very comfortable with everything one could need. The surroundings are quiet with easy access to the town and beaches. Hostess Maria is determined that you have everything for a relaxing stay and provides a culinary delight for breakfast. Her advice on activities and restaurants was very valuable.

This is a lovely b&b. Maria is so welcoming and attentive. Breakfast is outstanding. She brings you a basket with fresh towels, water and chocolate every day. We had the honeymoon suite and it has a lovely private porch where you can sit outside and enjoy the river and wildlife. Short walk to the beach and under 2 miles to town center. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful stay this is the spot.

Maria and Guy are the perfect hosts and just what you hope for in a great b and b experience. We were greeted warmly and immediately made to feel like one of the family. We stay in many, many serviced accommodations throughout the year and the level of service and professionalism is second to none. Combined with wonderful senses of humour and genuine warmth made this a perfect stay!

A lovely place to stay for 4 nights. The room was large and comfortable, the shower excellent, and toiletries all provided. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived and nothing was too much for Maria and her husband, who was happy to cook for us on the BBQ.. Beautiful surroundings, only 2 minutes from the 3/4 mile beached town

At Parkland Place is a lovely, quaint B & B a few minutes from the Whitiangi Wharf. Maria was the utmost host, with a lovely Polish breakfast set out in the morning. Room was clean & worked for our 1 night stay. Would recommend to couples wanting a night away
